This intro class was a lot of fun. Parts of it went over my head a little but I enjoyed it a lot. A lot of people are saying that computer science is a good field to go into.
My friend sent me a course cs50 python and js. Read the description and it said the course's prerequisite was cs50. Now I'm crying. Because this was just a few clicks away from me and someone actually answered all my questions that I have been asking for so long and not getting answers. This is pure art. This is divine. This is beautiful.
Learning this during quarantine. The excitement and passion in David's teaching keeps me wanting to know more about the fundamentals of CS. On to lecture 1...after cake that is.
Great movie, however Interstellar really shook me up, concepts I had never imagined were shown. The scene when Matthew M was trapped inside of those cubes with the robot trying to contact his daughter through the book shelf from another dimension omg. Also the ocean scene with the huge waves 😳 and how time was relative. One day I’ll rewatch to see if I have a different perspective.

@@user-qy6tu9ip9v Hi! Nope, you do not have to memorize anything. It's better that you understand low level programming just to close the entry level cycle. Today's encoders are not low level, you must only to learn a few counted functions, not binary.
The early concept of O naught, and event listeners are never taught this way in my college, let alone not in the first lecture. This is crazy for a first lecture.

I'm only 13, but this corse was very easy for me to understand and I learned alot from it, thank you for making these lectures available online for free, it was very hard to find something that was not only available but at the right level for all learning levels :)
This course actually taught me how to learn better. You give the tools but not solutions. I remember my CS in school was always just "do this" and we just copied what we were told and never really understood. With this course I actually am able to explain my code to someone else. So I probably understood it. Greetings from Germany :)

@@user-qy6tu9ip9v No it's just about the general idea. You can memorize them but its fine just to know that everything a computer displays is just zeros and ones (binary) arranged a certain way. After all a lightbulb (which represents transistors in a computer) can just have 2 states on or off. Thats why its called binary.
Watching this whole video should be an acceptable qualification for getting into a 1st lvl help desk role , at very least! Feel like I just studied a full semester!😰

So easy to grasp, that I questioned its place in Ivy League curriculum. (Guess our degrees are just branded ;) Having already known about the basics of binary and bits, I was surprised to learn about "unary!"

WOW!!!!!!!! an hour just passes without me noticing, and my mind is like, " we can't stop!!" If this is how you do it at Havard, then when I get in this class I'm beating them all, but first are refreshers in HTML, CSS. Python, JS & C, then React Django, and any other frameworks and we go,. in 6months and I'm coming there for MSc, Web & Data Science. LIKE SERIOUSLY

I'm only 13, but this corse was very easy for me to understand and I learned alot from it, thank you for making these lectures available online for free, it was very hard to find something that was not only available but at the right level for all learning levels :)

This course actually taught me how to learn better. You give the tools but not solutions. I remember my CS in school was always just "do this" and we just copied what we were told and never really understood. With this course I actually am able to explain my code to someone else. So I probably understood it. Greetings from Germany :)
Hi Diego. I have a question for you about binary. Do you have to memorize the binary numbers and every number that is assigned to every letter of the alphabet? I am so overwhelmed....

@@user-qy6tu9ip9v No it's just about the general idea. You can memorize them but its fine just to know that everything a computer displays is just zeros and ones (binary) arranged a certain way. After all a lightbulb (which represents transistors in a computer) can just have 2 states on or off. Thats why its called binary.
