as a digital/pixel artist, i can say with 100% confidence they require slightly different skills, so dont be afraid to improve!

Surprisingly 8-BIT Systems could only display so many colours either at once or at all, because the colour pattern was more limited than what the human eye can perceive.
Ratio, scale and general number of pixels is a little inconsistent, but I can guarantee it probably wasn't anything like this.

fr and the bits dont even matter to how the sprites look for the most part . there is no “8 bit” or “16 bit” artstyle
@@lemfrl I would argue there is and it's basis lies in utilising the practices that were made for developing titles on the hardware and the limitations to come.
Shovel Knight is an example of a game that put explicit detail into making the sprite work accurate to the original consoles.
16-bit and 8-bit are more just sub-genres of pixel art.

He always ran with his arms behind him "like Naruto", if anything Naruto took Sonic's running style.
Yeah, Sonic Adventure is the first game that included his iconic run (If you don't count Sonic CD as an option) And it came out originally in japan in December 23, 1998, not only that but in america it also came out in September 9, 1999 while Naruto came out 12 days later, at September 21, 1999.
No it's just a Japanese style of running for characters with High speed and agility That's why characters like Naruto goku and sonic use them because they have Japanese origins

Fun fact: neither of them created it. Goku did it before them and I know he wasn't the first either. It just looks dynamic and gives an appearance of speed. Plus it's probably because it's easier to animate.
