I loved the video! One more speculative concept from Jung that seems especially relevant here even though it is rarely discussed is the *psychoid*. The psychoid is essential for understanding synchronicity because it serves as the invisible bridge between psyche and matter, the foundational non-dual layer of reality where these seemingly separate realms become one. As the "connective tissue" of Jung's concept of the unus mundus, the psychoid represents the underlying architecture that allows archetypes to manifest both as psychic phenomena, such as dreams and visions, and as material events, such as uncanny coincidences in the external world. Synchronicity, the "visible ripple" of this deeper unity, depends on the psychoid as the "invisible ocean" from which meaningful alignments arise. By suggesting common ground between mental and physical experiences, the psychoid points to a reality is more interconnected and mysterious than it appears.
What a brilliant concise summary of the psychoid! I had a much longer video on Synchronicity planned but lost my nerve for how long it would take. I'm planning to return in maybe 6 or 12 months and get into the deeper side of things. Psychoid didn't make the cut this time but I feel it'll belong well in that longer video

I am so glad you mentioned the manifesting aspect. I've been going back and forth regarding my thoughts and it never felt right. For me peace has come in surrender, rather then trying yet another level of control through trying to manifest reality.
Not a synchronicity but funny, I was reading a book on synchronicity as a teen. The author was denying magical thinking but trying to show how focused attention and pattern recognition could seem magical to the individual . They suggested an exercise where you imagine you will find a quarter immediately . Without turning my head from the book in my lap I realized there’s a quarter edge glinting in the couch cushions between my legs. As I’m giggling about that my roommate comes in from work and dumps a big pile of change from her tip jar onto the kitchen table. I explain and we all have a laugh. I go to bed. In the morning I jump in the shower and as the water comes down I hear” plink” and look down , there’s a quarter right at my feet. ( my sleep addled brain could not understand that in my messy room I could have slept on a quarter and had it stuck to my back). I was baffled how a quarter had materialized from nowhere in the shower. I went back to the book that explained none of what I had experienced was special or synchronous or magical but how important it was to control what you focus on because that becomes your reality. It’s all in your head how you give your life meaning. Be careful.
I would say that synchronicities occur in such a way that they are inexplicably enigmatic, as if indicative of Providence as the only explanation. For example, I once was sitting on the New York subway, and I was thinking about my novel when, lo and behold, two people who share the same names as my protagonists appear before me, conversing with each other, asking each other out on a date. It was crazy, but acausal nevertheless. That’s the nature of synchronicity, though: it is so inexplicably profound that it seems like only something divine could have caused it, despite it only being correlationally concomitant phenomena altogether.
One of the more peculiar experiences I had was while participating in an online Jung group. Someone in the group posted the image of Philemon with King Fischer wings flying with 4 keys. And I mentioned that I spent the day trying to get 4 keys made for my apartment and every key maker in Berlin that I went to was Kurdish and looked like this, but they couldn’t make the main key, because it was a special type of key. I then said with skeptical humor, „but I know it’s not real synchronicity because I didn’t find a fisher king bird. (Which was one incident of Jung‘s while he meditated on the fisher king.) The next day I went to dinner at an Indian restaurant and ordered a beer. I rarely drink beer but I wanted to try „Indianische Bier“. They brought out a bottle of King Fisher Beer with a King Fisher on the label. A brand I had never heard of before. I was astonished but also suddenly understood the concept. The idea is meaningful coincidence. The incident could have been a bizarre chance, or I might have unconsciously known about King Fisher Bier but the effect despite whatever rationalization was a sudden sense of meaningfulness. And the definition of the phenomenon is MEANINGFUL coincidence. But it actually went one step further. What I was doing in Berlin was I had a show at a gallery, and helped the gallery afterwards. And I was helping hang their winter benefit auction sale. One of the submissions that came in that same week was a painting of an Eisvogel (German for Kingfisher bird).

I was on the way to some restaurant with my girlfriend at the time and she just happened to be asking me random trivia questions from her phone. She asked me "what is Rihannas real name?" And I kid you not, next thing we hear is "Oh na na, whats my name" come on the radio. It was crazy!
It’s a fascinating field...speaking of which, there were a couple of attempts at re-establishing research into the possibility of an electromagnetic factors in synchronicity events recently, not sure if they’re continuing but the physics connection adds another fascinating element
If you are attuned to coincidences, you will see them more regularly than someone that is not - this much is true. However, I observe that the more awareness I have of random coincidences the more I am availed of the rare but actual Synchronicity. Do you ascribe some modern-day spiritual meaning or like me do you sit back in awe and feel encouraged?
This seems to be a recurring theme in the books on the subject. Jung strongly felt that. For my part I'm not sure where I stand with it all. I'm more on the side evaluating the line between cognitive bias and synchronicity hence this steelmanning episode
A few days ago my flatmates friend was around. When we were chitchatting, she kept mentioning bias....so many times. So much so, she was mentioning it in the mist rediculous way, for example, when I was trying to explain studies in cross cultural psychology, and hiw East Asians tend to have more contextual attention processes, she related contextual attention processes to how bias functions. Sheesh.....there just seems to he no end to seeming coincidences. I wonder what John Vervake would say about attention to synchronicites and relevance realizarion😅😂😂😂😂😂
Of course I have experienced meaningful coincidences. But I don't agree with the "acausal" explaination given by Jung. Thare could be a perfectly causal explaination. After all, from a physical point of view the world may well be deterministic, even superdeterministic. It's like in a pool game: when you break off and scatter the balls, if you knew all the physical information about the shot you could know exactly where each ball is going to end up. Both the fox and the person who dreamt about the it are two of these billiard ballls: they are where they are because of previous shots. Now, if they were (uncounsciously) aware of their previous state and of the causal laws of nature that determine their own path, then they could (still unconsciously) take advantage of these awareness to create a coincidence and its related meaning.
I recently came across your channel when I was looking for content on the topic of the tension of opposites and how everything in the universe seems to exist in polarity. I must say, I very genuinely appreciate your approach to finding the middle ground between science and spiritualism. This approach ebodies the very tension of opposites I was seeking to clarify. I've found your content very enlightening. I am also a content creator who explores this duality on my own channel and the next video I am working on has been heavily influenced by several videos I have watched on your channel. No pressure, but I hope you will check out that video when it drops in about a week or so. I'd love to hear your take on it. Thank you for your dedication to creating this content. I subscribed to your channel and very much look forward to now going through your full body of work. Well done!
I think of it like a movie wherein its all there, already written and its just unfolding on the screen. There is a scene of someone dreaming or thinking of something and then there is an event occurring that seems to clearly correspond to it. Correspondence doesn't imply causation, yet they both occur within the movie, sharing a mutual context. A fanciful interpretation would be to assume that the characters individual mind is 'causing' the event, by the power of thought, but actually all one knows is they are related events appearing within the context of the movie. There is no proof of causation or creation via an individual mind.. Yet something is animating and experiencing the movie. Its interesting that Jung saw it as contradicting dualism, i suppose because it brings up the correspondence problem.. if in dualism the internal subjective reality is meant to be unrelated to the 'external' world then this law of synchronicity would throw a hammer in that. I'm not sure about the 'meaningfulness' of synchronicities. Personally I've experienced plenty that don't seem to have particular meaning for me personally, as well as ones that do.. but they both might serve to point to synchronicity being a law and in so doing contradict the assumptions of materialism as well as certain forms of idealism
Ooh that's a bit of a hot take - taking the meaningful out of Synchronicity. I can imagine examples of what you mean. The movie is a good way of thinking about it actually. The foreshadowing and symbolism in the movie don't point to causation (within the world of the movie of course) but are part of the aesthetic fabric of the creator's vision. Good framing
One of the most interesting videos I’ve seen in a while. I had a strange “meaningful coincidence” with the Stanley Kubrick film “Clockwork Orange”. It was probably not a synchronicity, it was more similar to the fish scenario.
Funnily enough I was watching Louie (Louis CKs show) last night and the daughter in the episode was saying she watched Clockwork Orange and Louis freaked out. Probably happened in the hour before this comment. Coincidence? For sure 😆
One thought I had when listening to this video after first watching your video regarding Jung's concept of Enantiodromia is that perhaps this synchronicity is directly related to the tension of opposites. I also see correlations to what is often referred to as the law of attraction. Perhaps polar forces arise in the tension of opposites when a well-defined goal is put into place.
Thankyou for providing such valuable insight in such a simplified and visually appealing way. Your videos have been really helpful and inspiring for my own channel.
I will provide counter point. When you said that neither caused the other but it was just caused by some magical force. I will give an example Of my experience and state that her speaking about the fox did cause the fox to appear . As many people forget time is not linear. And when you speak about something or think or dream and it appears or it occurs. This is you speaking to the universe and the universe going to a different point in time and creating the movements to then “Synchronize” with you at that moment of you speaking it. This occurred to me when I was getting on a ferries wheel in Las Vegas and there was several instances that I could of changed my course before arriving( short version of story) but once I stepped on the Ferris wheel. A family right before it takes off gets into it as well and this is a giant glass ball like Ferris wheel where we all stand in. And the kid says I want to take a picture at the very top. And I heard but dint pay too much attention. But once we did start to reach the top everyone was taking pics. And I offered to take pics of them. Without knowing a count down clock started and as they position themselves the clock ran down. And as soon as it hit 0 I took the picture. And reflecting back on it . Realizing the kid got his wish granted not because of any other reason than by the universe making me get into that ball and take their camera at the right time to fulfill the kids wishes. So of course one can create the other. But since we don’t perceive time as so we think it’s synchronicity and it is and isn’t. But yeah ima explore this more and find some proof to revolutionize the idea
*_True! After seeing this vid... I went to the toilette, flipped on the radio, and the very first song played was "King of Pain" from the very same band._*
Is this a synchronicity? I live in a small college town. I see a pair of foxes roaming about the neighborhood. Somebody tells me foxes travel with their mate. At the same time I'm in a relationship with an abusive and deeply disturbed young woman. I see the foxes a couple times, and notice one is limping one day. One evening I see the limping fox alone and start to cry. I finally got away from her and I think she's still alone today.

This video was fucking interesting. It will be interesting to know why you think that Jung doesn't escape Cartesian dualism. Personally, I believe in the principle of 'as above, so below' with Jung's psychophysical parallelism.
Yeah I'll be making another video in 6-12 months where I'll get deeper into the critique of Jung side of things so this is the primer I guess for that video
@@TheLivingPhilosophy I think that it is interesting to take into account Steve Jobs' quote here: 'you cannot connect the dots looking forward, you can only connect the dots looking backward'.
It's not about time but _internals_ states. If you saw a fox on a tuesday and then on the same day of the next month, which also happened to be a tuesday, you say a fox again, this would be an ordinary coincidence because it's two _external_ states aligning. If you thought about a fox, and then in practically the same instant a fox appeared from the undergrowth, that would be a synchronicity. In fact, the fox could have appeared a few hours after the fact and this would still be far more of the nature of a synchronicity than the former case, but the further the external event gets in time form the internal state, the more ambiguous it becomes. Whereas if the two happen within mere seconds there's hardly any denying that something beyond causality is at play. While the definition Jung gives is useful and is important for staving off quakery, it's also improtant to remember that Jung alos said, "We can place no limits on the psyche." It isn't that external events displaced from internal states by some length of time cannot be synchronistic, but that there is far less epistemic basis for _supposing_ that they are. This criteria is a _heuristic,_ such as Occam's Razor, not an attribute inheirant to the phenomenon itself. If you want to get pedantic, another reason why some moderation should be applied to Jung's criteria is that time is relative in the first place: Even if the fox is psychic and knows when I will think of it down to the instant and chooses then and there to appear, it will still take a physical duration of time for it to do so, nor is there any discreetly defined instant of when I think of the fox. How would you go about timign such a thing to measure empirically when the fox appeared and when the thought of the fox was formed? So, in the end, the notion that the external and internal commponents of a synchronicity exclusivly occur at one in the same instant is just as unfalsifiable as all the squirrely notions formed about synchronicity in the absence of this criterion. To put it another way, if the fox appeared three seconds after I thought of it instead of two, would this be a bridge too far? Am I _really_ sure this was a synchronicity? So you see it's a Xeno's paradox and unproductive to tske this too far and the real operative factor is the alignment of internal and external conditions.
So you are saying time is not matter it is matter when meaningful enough. Like thinking fox then 10 seconds appear fox still meaningful fox appearing after 1 seconds.
Thank you for this video, that benefits from wanting to be exact. Can we play synchronicity or not again? For reasons i can't get into here, the numbers 24 and 6 regularly stick out to my perception very much. When, near the end of the video, you choose to use suitcase no. 24 from deal or no deal, "why does it have to be that number" flashed through my mind. Sure enough, you then talked about numbers following you around and how that's going to far. When you continue citing from Jung, he continues that it's very odd that within 24 (!) hours no less than 6 (!) times the fish theme recurred. Now is this just odd, a synchronicity or something else entirely?
I'm 51 and I used to be a hard-nosed athiestic skeptic. But I've seen too much super weird shit over my time now, especially around my son and ex-wife. Synchronicity is a thing. Even the new age manifestation shit (though usually its not the loudest preachers of it who make it real). One of the biggest sychnronistic events in history is the near universal occurrence of the Palaeolithic revolution occurring all over the world at around the same time in communities separated by oceans. Fitting too given its when shamanism seems to have arisen
Interesting. You found it too loud or just distracting? If I get more feedback from the audio listeners I might see about toning it down on Spotify or trying it without. Appreciate the feedback 🫡
İs it like predicting future for example i saw a dog and his takecarer so i daydreamed his takecarer throwing ball to play with her dog and she really pull out ball and throw it to play. And there was no ball and i lived this many times when i daydreamed something it happened after 5 seconds. Is it synchronicity?
hey, another great video as always and if the creator is reading this i have a question- would it be correct to say that synchronicity is the opposite of the absurd as termed by Camus as a divorce of the mind and the world whereas synchronicity is the connection of the mind's longing of an event and it actually happening in the real time?
This is an interesting idea. Maybe it goes like this. 1. There is the absurd nihilism. (Camus) 2. We put meaning on that. (Camus) 3. We can say that synchronicity happens as a coincidence to this meaning. So in a way synchronicity is opposite to the absurd. However, to my mind, synchronicity is different because Camus doesn't allow for the role that Jung's unconscious and the archetypes play.
@@Vooodooolicious cool name first of all! Secondly, your first point seems like to me the implication of the existence of the absurd as termed by camus and it too is understandable that yes, the absurd exists if we talk strictly about what cmaus meant it to be now for your 2nd point, "we put a meaning on it" we can create 2 thoughts which i'll explain with the plum pudding example 1st would be the general subjective way of saying it where we integrate 2 things happening together, the pudding being served and the presence of that guy[i forgot the name sorry] and then later when the integration of these events happen 2 more times, we recognise the pattern and realise a LINKAGE/MERGING of a human and the pudding which is the part of the world i.e.it's unalive and we see this merging taking place at different points of time Now for the 2nd perspective it'd be Camus' perspective of the absurd - let's get the term absurd straight first of all and it is a phenomenon occuring when the human conscience striving for meaning/resemblance/nostalgia is met with the shivering cold indifference of the physical world not providing any meaning which creates a sort of DIVORCE now this is the point when the dissimilarities happen- camus said to live in the present because our hunger for meaning/merging/resemblance will be met by a cold silence by the world example- the second pudding accident which, even jung said wasn't synchronicity and it was absurd because the WORLD DIDN'T COMPLETELY ANSWER US and left us in a state of confusion so if at that point you decide to disagree with camus and try to seek meaning/resemblance again you'll be met with silence and the absurd will prevail. now on the third occurrence though, the world answers your cries, and you finally seek resemblance, of time, world and the human conscience which means it's the opposite of the Absurd and that is only if i didn't make a logical fallacy in this thesis
@@MontyChomu I like the pudding example a lot. It makes me think of Jean-Paul Sartre, where there is the 'I' and the object. Jacques Lacan furthered this idea with his mirror stage (it is too complicated to describe here). More than that, it makes me think of Henri Bergson's sugar dissolving in a cup (you either know it or will need to look it up), in terms that things cannot be understood as static events but need to be understood intuitively. Yes, this idea of Camus' absurd was taken from Sartre. You make sense. I think it is worth noting that Camus wrote: 'It is up to us to give life a meaning, in spite of the absurdity that surrounds it.'
We live in a universe of cause and effect, action and consequence. First of all the “at the same time” premise needs clarification. If two events are truly simultaneous, causality amongst them would be impossible by definition anyway. Secondly, if two or more events (of any nature whatsoever, physical and/or psychic) occur at the same time AND they do not share a common cause or they are not absolutely simultaneous but still there is no causality linking them, then what is being given the synchronicity name is none other than a curious coincidence. The ONLY alternative to this truth would be the presence of non discernible causality (viz the link is not rationally explicable or the explanation does not belong in the realm of the physical reality as we know it). In a nut shell: there is either causality (cause and effect) or coincidence, and therefore the practical meaning of the term “synchronicity” is “unexplained causality in the simultaneous occurrence of a certain psychic state and one or more external events”. Notice the term used is “unexplained” and not “inexplicable”. If you could bring to civilization a human being from a couple of centuries ago, this individual would see synchronicity (unexplained causality) everywhere. It’s either cause and affect or it’s coincidence and the difficulty or impossibility of discern where the causality resides does not imply that there is some other obscure or esoteric alternative.
You can increase your chances by using natural ques instead of the clock. Let your dog sniff the flower, do pushups at sundown, when you see birds, fish there.
I think the question you propose could be rewritten as “what is the value one places on physical reflections of the underlying metaphysical reality of our existence?”
@Vooodooolicious my question comes from a place repeatedly having these experiences to the point of being overwhelmed during periods of my life but all I'm ever left with is life is effin weird
This was a great video! However, I think some scrutiny is lacking over the line of Jung's you quote near the end. Namely, "It is, therefore, generally assumed that all coincidences are lucky hits and do not require an acausal interpretation. This assumption can, and indeed must, be regarded as true so long as proof is lacking that their incidence exceeds the limits of probability." What are the limits of probability? How do we know when they've been exceeded? This seems crucial to distinguish a coincidence from a synchronicity. None of the examples cited in the video form Jung's works strike me as events which cannot be explained by mere chance. Admittedly, they are extremely unlikely! But probabilistically impossible? I do have a certain fondness for the idea, but the demarcation you try to concretise in this video seems to hinge on the sentiment in that line you quote at the end, and I don't see that that particular boundary has been clearly defined.
It seems that if you take your own coolest, weirdest, wildest story then you could multiply that by 8 billion other people's stories.... You'll come up with some hard to believe or imagine coincidence. Now though to be fare we'll have to minus the billions of times nothing cool happened.
this is just some magical pew pew concept that Jung is trying to pass as scientific. Its all based on stuff that happened to him (how convenient) or in personal experiencie of random people we can't not truly check.
Where is your proof that someone thinking or talking about something did not make it manifest on the physical plane? You don’t have that proof so why would you say with conviction it did not make it so?
That’s not how the burden of proof works, if you think a phenomena happens you have to prove it with evidence, otherwise it’s just conjecture and can be treated as such.
Synchronicities only causede suffering and loss. The amount of confusion and exploitation by those who've been watching me...I pray there's something that punished them all. Butote likely nothing going to happen. So I have to wake up and realize my life was used by this evil and God never cared and I have no reason to keep walking up... This all was done because people are shit .evil. There's no good in what found me. And I'm the only one that suffers.y life my child and whatever I thought it could be...
You're not the only one that feels they've unwittingly been in some type of horrific Truman show scenario. Could think of a few people I'd like to punish also. Maybe the feeling of being watched comes from todays exploitation and manipulation of peoples data and their profiles etc. You're certainly not the only one in that regard. Whether or which, stuff changes sometimes. For example, maybe rather than not wanting to wake up, your subconscious is telling you to walk up, or simply keep walking. There might be better stuff down the road
In the most general sense, one could use the example of surveillance capitalism. When people's data is mined. The example that the theorist of surveillance capitalism uses, was when a woman bought a certain type of shampoo. It was noted by the data Lords of doom (don't know the proper term). Whatever the algorithm was, it knew that the particular smell of that shampoo attracts pregnant women. The woman didn't know she was pregnant. The data Lords of doom then sends lots of stuff on her fathers digital feed (also don't know the proper term) abiut pregnant women or pregnant daughters, or something like that, so he knows he is pregnant before she dies. Something like that, could lead the people involved to think it was a meaningful coincidence. Exploitation and manipulation of information. Could also lead people to believe they are being watched by some higher force, rather than algorithms or the digital matrix or whatever. In a less general sense, people's lives can be displayed on multiple media platforms without their consent and can be psychologically terrorised and brutalised, for example (not my own horror example), stuff like what is happening with the likes of conor mgregor at the moment etc. So much about algorithms and media and the digital world that simply messes with people's minds and lives in a myriad of ways
Synchro nicity desmontrates a connection between an event and time, not simply the material world. This is another faulty narrative about synchronicity written by those who have not actually studied the subject.
Apophenia is making meaning to person's subjective understading, synchronicity is meaningful coincidence it is like when you are thinking your friend she is calling you or when you think red car,red car is appearing on the road.
@anti506 Sorry, that in no way contradicts my original comment - "meaningful coincidence" is question-begging; it's assuming - without evidence - that coincidences are genuinely meaningful from the get-go, without a scrap of proof.
@@stevepayne5965 well it is impossible to have proof while it is about conciousness and in miliseconds you can't make experience of it when you talk about golden bug and at the time hitting a window golden bug and it makes you feel important to universe. It is happening at that time it is the problem. Like when it is meaningful it is meaningful if you do experiment like people to say "100 times you'll say black porcshe every tuesday and if it appear a black porsche at tuesday synchronicity is lie" when you do that it is not being meaningful it is just happening statistically, a chance.
@@stevepayne5965 I dont think you understood the video lol. “Your critique that ‘meaningful coincidence’ assumes meaning without evidence is valid if we interpret synchronicity as an objective claim. However, Jung’s concept is less about proving objective meaning and more about exploring the subjective experience of meaning. He viewed synchronicity as a psychological phenomenon where the individual perceives a connection between external events and their internal state, often tied to archetypes or the collective unconscious. For instance, if someone dreams of a specific event and then experiences it, the significance lies in the profound personal resonance, not in the event’s intrinsic meaning. Synchronicity isn’t about proving universal meaning but highlighting the interplay between psyche and reality. Apophenia, by contrast, involves arbitrary pattern recognition without personal or archetypal depth.”
I have physical proof of the best synchronicities and plan on unleashing it on the world in content, book, videos or whatever, I actually think I discovered what it means too...beyond the typical internet explanations...

Be careful.
👍
I would say that synchronicities occur in such a way that they are inexplicably enigmatic, as if indicative of Providence as the only explanation. For example, I once was sitting on the New York subway, and I was thinking about my novel when, lo and behold, two people who share the same names as my protagonists appear before me, conversing with each other, asking each other out on a date. It was crazy, but acausal nevertheless. That’s the nature of synchronicity, though: it is so inexplicably profound that it seems like only something divine could have caused it, despite it only being correlationally concomitant phenomena altogether.
that is a beautiful explanation
One of the more peculiar experiences I had was while participating in an online Jung group. Someone in the group posted the image of Philemon with King Fischer wings flying with 4 keys. And I mentioned that I spent the day trying to get 4 keys made for my apartment and every key maker in Berlin that I went to was Kurdish and looked like this, but they couldn’t make the main key, because it was a special type of key. I then said with skeptical humor, „but I know it’s not real synchronicity because I didn’t find a fisher king bird. (Which was one incident of Jung‘s while he meditated on the fisher king.)
The next day I went to dinner at an Indian restaurant and ordered a beer.
It is a really interesting example.
Philemon would be an archetype from the unconscious here right? Which is what would make it meaningful, right?

Its the triviality of these events that is striking, how nothing significant follows from them.
Synchronicity has happened to me so much. This was very insightful and I have much reading to do.
Cognitive bias or the “observer effect”, at the very least an intrigue. I’m almost certain you have experienced Synchronicity.
I don't read too much into them because coincidences DON'T happen all the time.
I’m so pleased to have found your channel. I appreciate you shining the light of truth upon some of the New Age thoughts. Thank you.

I know the feeling
Think I I'll go find me a milk bar
Funnily enough I was watching Louie (Louis CKs show) last night and the daughter in the episode was saying she watched Clockwork Orange and Louis freaked out. Probably happened in the hour before this comment. Coincidence? For sure 😆
One thought I had when listening to this video after first watching your video regarding Jung's concept of Enantiodromia is that perhaps this synchronicity is directly related to the tension of opposites. I also see correlations to what is often referred to as the law of attraction. Perhaps polar forces arise in the tension of opposites when a well-defined goal is put into place.
Fantastic! I’ve been enjoying your work as I make my way through Jung’s bibliography.

Thankyou for providing such valuable insight in such a simplified and visually appealing way. Your videos have been really helpful and inspiring for my own channel.
I will provide counter point. When you said that neither caused the other but it was just caused by some magical force. I will give an example
Of my experience and state that her speaking about the fox did cause the fox to appear .
Synchronicity I and II are great songs from The Police.

Carl Jung would thisthese sequence of events "synchronicity"
This video was fucking interesting.
It will be interesting to know why you think that Jung doesn't escape Cartesian dualism. Personally, I believe in the principle of 'as above, so below' with Jung's psychophysical parallelism.
Yeah I'll be making another video in 6-12 months where I'll get deeper into the critique of Jung side of things so this is the primer I guess for that video
@@TheLivingPhilosophy I think that it is interesting to take into account Steve Jobs' quote here: 'you cannot connect the dots looking forward, you can only connect the dots looking backward'.
good video. I like that some of stock clips you use in this video I mix into my VJ sets :)
Great explaination!
While the definition Jung gives is useful and is important for staving off quakery, it's also improtant to remember that Jung alos said, "We can place no limits on the psyche."
It isn't that external events displaced from internal states by some length of time cannot be synchronistic, but that there is far less epistemic basis for _supposing_ that they are.
“With one breath

Where do I get the stock videos and stuff from when making video essays
(Camus)
2. We put meaning on that. (Camus)
Secondly, your first point seems like to me the implication of the existence of the absurd as termed by camus and it too is understandable that yes, the absurd exists if we talk strictly about what cmaus meant it to be
now for your 2nd point, "we put a meaning on it" we can create 2 thoughts which i'll explain with the plum pudding example
1st would be the general subjective way of saying it where we integrate 2 things happening together, the pudding being served and the presence of that guy[i forgot the name sorry] and then later when the integration of these events happen 2 more times, we recognise the pattern and realise a LINKAGE/MERGING of a human and the pudding which is the part of the world i.e.it's unalive and we see this merging taking place at different points of time
Now for the 2nd perspective it'd be Camus' perspective of the absurd -
let's get the term absurd straight first of all and it is a phenomenon occuring when the human conscience striving for meaning/resemblance/nostalgia is met with the shivering cold indifference of the physical world not providing any meaning which creates a sort of DIVORCE
now this is the point when the dissimilarities happen-
camus said to live in the present because our hunger for meaning/merging/resemblance will be met by a cold silence by the world
example- the second pudding accident which, even jung said wasn't synchronicity and it was absurd because the WORLD DIDN'T COMPLETELY ANSWER US and left us in a state of confusion so if at that point you decide to disagree with camus and try to seek meaning/resemblance again you'll be met with silence and the absurd will prevail.
now on the third occurrence though, the world answers your cries, and you finally seek resemblance, of time, world and the human conscience which means it's the opposite of the Absurd and that is only if i didn't make a logical fallacy in this thesis
Great work
you have beautiful hairs ✨
Ok but what's the use in even noting it beyond "oh isn't that crazy"
I think the question you propose could be rewritten as “what is the value one places on physical reflections of the underlying metaphysical reality of our existence?”
@CadeChurch well then?
Something about God
One word, consciousness. If things aren't random, then we can attribute meaning to them. That is important.
Without an understanding of the reality of the spiritual world, life is endlessly mystifying...

this is just some magical pew pew concept that Jung is trying to pass as scientific.
Its calle skizo
Jung tried to establish a theory for a type of circumstance that cannot be theorized? No wonder he failed.
Jung did not live in a digital world
Synchronicities only causede suffering and loss. The amount of confusion and exploitation by those who've been watching me...I pray there's something that punished them all. Butote likely nothing going to happen. So I have to wake up and realize my life was used by this evil and God never cared and I have no reason to keep walking up... This all was done because people are shit
.evil.
There might be better stuff down the road
what are you talking about? this is a bit vague
(No idea about the guilt or innocence of conor mcgergor, but for the sake of the example, let's pretend we know he's innocent. Which happens)
"God never cared"... basically, you don't care yourself. Or you'll be working on that while meditating
Synchro nicity desmontrates a connection between an event and time, not simply the material world. This is another faulty narrative about synchronicity written by those who have not actually studied the subject.
Synchronicity has chronic in the middle of it lol
Sync city also
Jung doesn't seem to have ever entertained the possibility that synchronicity is simply apophenia.
Exactly!!!! Magical thinking very prevalent among mental illnesses
I have physical proof of the best synchronicities and plan on unleashing it on the world in content, book, videos or whatever,
I actually think I discovered what it means too...beyond the typical internet explanations...
Summarize it here if you have "physical proof". Otherwise this sounds like psychosis or mental illness to me.
Always get a bunch of nothing while watching synchronicity videos. Nothing to know here just a reminder that nobody knows shit!
