Sorry lads but that was hard to watch. The type of scaffold you have erected is known as a " Dropped cantilever scaffold " covered in Basic part 2 scaffolding, not advanced. The stringer being used as a tie is on the wrong side of the standards( should be on the inside not outside and there should be 2 ties, top and bottom. The projection of the cantilever is to much and the ties are not sufficient. Weight times projection divided by the tail then multiplied by 3 is the formula for back-weighting / tying back a cantilever type scaffold. This not a good instruction video at all. Stay lucky.

Hey, Yes @Joey-rp5vg you are right "The type of scaffold you have erected is known as a " Dropped cantilever scaffold " " Can you please indicate in the video clip (time) which parts you are talking about "The stringer being used as a tie is on the wrong side of the standards( should be on the inside not outside and there should be 2 ties, top and bottom." and "The projection of the cantilever is to much and the ties are not sufficient." , then I can provide the manufacturer's specifications and calculations for this construction.

@@Balticeasttrade Sorry fella there are so many mistakes made in this erection. The stringer, aka the tube you are using to tie the scaffold off.......2 tubes, instead of 1 and joined by a spiggot!!!!!Spiggots are only to be used in a vertical joint not horizontal ( spiggot only to be used on standards, not ledgers or transoms. Thats a big no no ) The overhang on the stringer, between the structural steel means it's holding very little to nothing. The right hand standard is good but the center and left standard is poorly tied back and won't suffice The stringer should be tied onto the standards ( on the inside ) not 2 layer ledgers hanging out on 1 ring. The butts ( small tubes ) used to tie it into the structural steel, should be changed for long tubes that catch the 2 standards front and back and the tie should not only be on the bottom but on the top also. What weight class is the scaffold being used for? Light duty or general purpose? How many kilonewtons per square meter can this scaffold withstand? Or how many Kn/m2 can it hold at the moment? You have a total of 3 doubles holding the scaffold back. Not every double take the same weight but even 3 SGB mark 3a's ( the strongest double know to man and you don't want to carry 25 of them in a bag ) won't hold that up. One double can take how many kilo's?
The counterweight is worked out with this formula: weight times projection, divided by the Tail, multiplied by a safety factor of 3:1 allows you to work out how much counterweight you need, whether that be a pallet of bricks, a stillage of tube, box of fittings, bags of sand or doubles tied in to the structure. If you look back at the end result and start to go through it again but slowly and methodically , you will see what I am saying. Please don't take this as a mean person trying to tell you how to do your job, rather an old scaffolding foreman with a good history and experience of scaffolding and scaffolding inspection. Good luck lads and stay lucky. Oh and are you lads CITB trained and have a CISRS accreditation, if not get yourselves over to the UK and get certified. Start working with conventional scaffold and the meccano type scaffolding is no sweat to work with. Stay lucky fellas and take care when working, you are your own safety officer.

Hello, protection is used for training purposes, for practice. In some places, it is necessary to use it even at a lower height, so in the event of an accident or a safety violation at work, there is no question and I doubt whether the company's internal rules were followed.

Im an event scaffolder, we use layher but the way we build is a bit unconventional so not sure if this is done or not in your trade. When putting the ledgers in by yourself, I find it easier to have the pin the ledger one side which you then hook in to the rosette and pin your side properly, then go over pin the one youve hooked in.
The main reason we do it like this is because when we're up towers we dont have steel deck like you guys we climb the layher work just stand on the scaffolding with a work position lanyard so once we've hooked one sided and pinned the other we can then walk across to the opposite standard holding on to that ledger and pin the ledger.

      Hi, good point.
On the other side of the container, we have a 4-meter ladder, which we used to get onto the container, in order to collect the sole securely fastened to the gray metal structure. Unfortunately, the video could not be shot, due to a poorly placed camera, the camera fell over.
