Suga aka Agust D got a lot of hate and criticism when he left underground rapping to join a BTS even from people who he had considered friends. In Korea someone from a boy group or a girl group who sings or dances or raps, they are all called Idols. It's not really the same connotation as we would use the word in English. This song is to all his former colleagues in underground rap that said awful things about him when he joined BTS, but he's saying they should be grateful he's an Idol now because those other rappers don't have to compete against him anymore because he's in a different category. and please react to standing next to you by jungkook he’s the main vocal of bts🤍
Agust D is Suga spelt backwards along with DT for Daegu Town (Suga's hometown). BTS as a group and as soloists got a ton of hate from the beginning and even now with all their success. 2 members of BTS (Suga and RM) both came from the underground rap scene in South Korea and initially BTS was supposed to be a group made of rappers but over time things changed and they became an idol group where singing and dancing was going to be incorporated. A lot of the rapper trainees left the company when this was decided because Korean idols are not seen as real music artists. There is an infamous interview from awhile ago where RM and Suga were basically called sell outs by other rappers to their faces and were called girls for wearing make up (even though everyone in the entertainment industry including rappers wear make up). And they had the most gracious response. They were just like that's fine if you think that but we just want to perform and make music.
It's impossible not to get accelerated hearing it 😂 This is a diss track. If you watched Tailor's documentary, you know they (RM and Suga) received a lot of critics (hate) from their ex fellow underground rappers because they decided to become idols. This is the answer to those rappers, particularly to B-free [if you listen to the cyphers you'll hear "go to Hawaii", it's directed to him, too] Ah! Agust D is SugaDT backwards (he's from Daegu Town - DT)
3:07 Just to let you know, it was an old school way for rappers spelling out their name “A to the G to the U to the STD” aka AGUST D. *He was 23 years old when this came out but now his early 30s, so yeah.*
I love your energy! 🥰 💜you girls are so funny! Please, please do more BTS (or solo) songs. They have over 300 songs in all kinds of genres, and there is so much more depth and artistry in their music than you might think when you first start listening to them. Some songs I think you could like: Black Swan - RnB, rather dark song about what happens when an artist looses their passion for art Mic drop - hiphop, edm, high energy, a song for all the haters Fake Love - rock (please army correct me if I'm wrong😅) about what happens when you change and lose yourself for someone you love. On, kinetic manifesto - (one of my favorites) high energy with marching band, about fighting your own shadows There is also a great video called A guide to Bts - The Bangtan 7 by Taylor Mari if you want to know more about them. It's quite long but we armys LOVE seeing other people react to it. You got a new subscriber, thanks for giving them a chance!💜
SUGA / AGUST D is still part of BTS, all the members now have solo music and side projects … They’re all currently in the military right now until 2025 except for maybe the two that first enlisted who should be making their return sometime toward the middle or end of this year. *If you like more BALLADs or UPBEAT music by them then tell us what your preferences are and we will do are best to match it with certain K-pop / K-Hiphop / K-rock songs, etc. but you need to start actually watching the FULL MVs instead cutting them off halfway.*
During that infamous radio program, a rapper called Suga “sugar” as an insult. Sugar being sweet (not a real rapper). When he says he’s far from being sugar, he’s telling the haters that he’s not sweet. He’s going to out rap rappers even though he’s “just” an idol.
First Rapper to sell 1M copies of an album on the day of release! -First Rapper to have multiple albums with 100 #1's on iTunes worldwide! -Rapper with most songs with 100 #1's on iTunes worldwide! -First Rapper to earn over $3M in a single arena concert in US!
I am kinda waiting for your bts reaction😊 Thank you for this time as well. BTS has tons of video to watch. Pls keep diving in. How about BTS tiny desk concert to react to for next time? Looking forward to see u soon.❤
*He’s is sing-rapping super fast who is one of few fastest rappers in South Korea and also this is not under KPOP … its different form known as K-HIPHOP / RAP which is his specialty, he used to be a underground rapper in his teen years long before BTS began.*
Man thats THE AGUST D the all time genius musician,he is one of the most respected musicians in korea he is a great producer lyricists and a damn rapper, atleast should have done some research.
You're watching Suga of BTS AKA Agust D, so this is Agust D his alter ego not Suga of BTS. he's one of the three rappers he's not singing he's rapping. That's all I have to say this gets a dislike not watching the rest of the video bye.
What a rude comment! This is not bad for your image (you're not an Army at all) but for the entire fandom. BTS never would be happy with it. Peace and love! Don't spread hate, love yourself!
@sharonmartin-hy5ne this person is saying he/she would keep watching the reaction just because they said Suga was singing or something like this. It's a very unpolite comment (theirs, not yours).
Please pause to actually read the lyrics. You will then understand the meaning of his rap. Trying to understand a fast rap from the few English phrases you catch is lazy. I get you are trying to include humour but fixating on the letters STD for half the song is really cringe. I hope you check out more BTS but wait on the rap until you have time to pause and do it properly.
They were having fun with it, and eventually their banter got them to better understanding. I enjoy them, even if they are still in the “I’m a little embarrassed for liking this” phase. I think they’ll get to an understanding that BTS far exceeds the stereotype that follows them everywhere, because overall they are open-minded.
Tbh, this is not an easy song to get for new listeners. I usually wait to recommend this song. It has too many references that confuses someone who just started listening to him or BTS. He is very precise with his words instead of it being your run of the mill diss track. Even his English phrases in this has context. There is just too much to explain. It's at least somewhat easier to explain this to someone who either has some background on BTS or rap music.

The best concert I’ve ever seen
Yes, except I haven't seen BTS live yet so that will probably surpass it for me.

the "std" is intentional. He's spreading his "first-classy-nes" by his "tongue technology"... 😆

They watched until the end so this comment is inaccurate

Love you 3 but your taste in music is awful...😂
Their taste in music is FIRE. They are open-minded, which is more than can be said for some other people.
