I found you while I was having a Doretta moment. Seeing who can come close to Mme.Caballe. so far, none. It's as though it was composed for her. Then you showed up. At first i thought it was a joke. Then you rocked my world. I hope to meet you one day. God willing! I hope you get to go to the ends of the earth and back with your singing. I have friends in Canada who can sure use your talents for their Opera Co. Email me. hamb4 on Yahoo. Hope you get all this.
@@donovanrobinson1843 Amongst the versions people always mention - yes. Certainly it is not as bad as some versions by sopranos of today but compared to her contemporaries and those before her, yes.
@@KajiVocals both renditions in her prime and outside her prime sit all of her contemporaries. Kiri and caballe also have beautiful renditions but Leontynes hits the mark with a beautiful warm tone on the high notes and her phrasing allows for a smoother transition in the piece where as for others it seems they have a break after coming off the high notes
Now I know I'm not the only male singer who loves trying out soprano arias.😅
Oh I always do it 😂… I love singing ritorna vincitor down the octave… and Mimi’s first aria …..butterfly’s entrance lol.😅
I love this aria. How wonderful to hear it sung by a male singer. Such transporting music.
This is exactly what the aria has always been missing. A massive pair of balls to tackle it. Bravo to you sir!
It's one of my fave operatic arias!!!!

Leontyne’s renditions are sublime
@@donovanrobinson1843 It's one of the worst in this aria. Listen to Carteri and Kirsten.
