Loved the Dukes statement, "nature can be quite the nuisance"!
Perhaps we are the irritable ones. Nature just is.
how lovely it would be to talk an early morning walk there...
M.R. Yan ...I agree!!
It looks like where they shot pride and prejudice so beautiful.
It was!

I've enjoyed Chatsworth since I was a boy. It is a magical place. I was 14 or so when I got my first "proper" camera (a Zenit B with f3.5 Industar lens - £19.95). I used my 1 inch OS map to trespass around Emperor Lake, high above the house (the lake that feeds the fountain) snapping pics on a roll of Tri-X. I developed and printed my own pics then.
I distinctly remember seeing the gamekeepers' gibbet up there - impaled moles and other dead creatures. I thought it pretty grisly at the time!
That they had harnessed the power of the gravity fed water is very relevant today.
" Nature's quite a nuisance really , BUT when it works it's wonderful " lol
This is gorgeous, simply beautiful!!
This is before Tom Stuart Smith replanted the rock gardens and woods. It's even better now!
I could listen to him speak all day.
"nature is quite a nuisance, really. but when it works it's wonderful." and there you go.
what a wonderful series this is @nowness
Beautiful enchanting garden views.
Isn't this the house that was used as Mr. Darcy residence in the 2006 version of Pride and Prejudice?
Yes.
the duke impresses me very much. he is so committed and hands-on knowledgeable..
Thank you for sharing.
One of the best things about a big house/manor is the garden. X
Beautiful place!
This has to be the most beautiful property period
So beautiful!!!!!
I hope he is as lovely a gent as he seems. Thanks.
He won’t be, these types of people never are.
What a ridiculous sweeping statement to make. I know plenty of very ordinary people who are quite awful. It can work both ways.
@@mungomidge1090 he is as was his incredibly kind mother. You however, I doubt are nice, your type never are.

The emperor fountain dates from the1840s, not the 1740s. Also, the present house was begun at the end of the 1600s to replace the Elizabethan building.
This looks like the house used as pemberley in 2005 pride an prejudice movie
This is perfect setting for Agatha Christie's Poirot
Mesmerising ❤
Beautiful land
Is the music in this video published?
great garden
Dan Pearson !!!
I wish that I suffered from an embarrassment of riches.......
I came from a poor family and life threw me in with a lot of rich people and they were sad and had problems and no way of sortting their lives out as they ahdn't been taught. I Don't envy the rich, they have too much baggage !
@@TheFiown ur an idiot
Billy Hartington was killed in WWII after having become engaged to Kathleen Kennedy
I had thought that they intended to live at Chatsworth after the war but have not found the familial connection between the Cavendishes, Hartingtons CHatsworth and Devonshire. London
Can you sort this out please?
Surely Shome Mishtake ? Paxton's fountain must have been put there in the 1840s not 1740s- a slip of the ducal tongue,
