That 469 triple was like finding the key to the hidden garden! All downhill from then on! Many thanks :)
Thank you! That did it! That was a tough one!
There is a 1-2 pair in the same colum.
I really struggled until I saw that 469 triple.
Agreed !
I couldn't find the 469 triple pair either today until this video. But glad to find someone solving these everyday. Now I don't have to completely abandon the puzzles I can't solve, only come here for help :')
The 4-6-9 triple in the left column is much harder to find in the NYT interface, as there is only 1 style of notation. So, "could be's" and "have to be's" can't be differentiated. I failed on this puzzle. For me to have solved it, I would have had to find the resulting 1-2 pair in the left column, as the 1-2 pair is easier to spot in the NYT interface. For some reason, I failed to spot it, even after a while.
I'm gonna have to study this one too. Maybe if we see enough of those "naked triples" as opposed to a "hidden triple" it'll eventually make sense... :/ Thansk Rangsk!
12:24 to solve. Some tough spots but collapses quite quickly thereafter.
My solve was mechanistic as usual, and I had no point where I was seriously stuck. Going through 1s at the start, I found an accidental finned X-wing which, as expected, was superfluous. A 12 pair in a neighboring block removed the 1 much later. The 469 triple mentioned by another commenter may have been a turning point.
5:00 I usually have trouble finding naked singles. So I didn't place 4 in block 9 until after the 3 and the obvious 89 pair.
Very nice solve. Just a nit ... when you were looking at crossings in the top band (at 0:46), you might have picked up the naked 1 in box3. Not really a "crossing" because the 2 and 6 in box 3 don't line up, but the 1 in box 2 takes out r2 in box3. There are 1s in the stack in box 6 and 9 forcing a naked 1 at r1c8. I offer this only because I'm trying to get better at your style of scanning.
The two triples in c1 unlocked the rest of the solve for me as well, it was all just turning the crank after that.
Sensei, I failed on this one
Keep at it! You'll get there!
You can do it! We have faith in you!
Your title still has "hand cam", but I don't see you doing that today.
