What went wrong on the Herald Of Free Enterprise??? . The music, the narrators voice (Richard Vaughan) and the documentaries complemented each other to a tee 👌. The Peter Guinness narrated episodes (with this music) and the latter episodes when Richard Vaughan returned (without the music) where never as good somehow. The show doesn't work without all 3 ingredients imo
I heard it in a an aviation safety training video today. I was unprepared for the emotional effect it would have on me when I recognised both the music and incident very close in succession.
now using advanced computer simulations we break down just what happened that fateful day. Disaster don't just happen they're a chain of critical events. unravel the clues and count down those final seconds from disaster.
Especially when it’s used in a safety video for us, those who work on the airfield and could cause our very own “seconds from disaster” episode if we’re not careful. I really didn’t expect to react so strongly to it.
"The Seconds from Disaster intro, an energizing and exciting theme. Suddenly, poor internet connection causes notable inconvenience and poor video reception. Now, with the help of a webpage reload, we will examine what went wrong."
April 1989, a military exercise is well underway in the Caribbean Sea. There, the crew members onboard the battleship U.S.S. Iowa expects a trouble-free exercise. Then, just before the battleship fires her guns, disaster strikes! Suddenly, without warning, an explosion rips one of Iowa’s gun turrets, the blast kills 47 crew members and leaves investigators baffled. But why did a turret malfunction lead to an explosion? Was the ship sabotaged by terrorists? Design flaw? Or a catastrophic mechanical failure? Now with advanced computer simulations, we reveal exactly what went wrong onboard U.S.S. Iowa. Disasters don’t just happen, they’re a chain of critical events. Unravel the clues and count down to those final….SECONDS FROM DISASTER! Battleship Turret Explosion
We watched a clip from this show in one of the aviation safety training modules. Having watched neither shows for years I was confused at first between Air Crash Investigation (Mayday) and this. But then I remembered no, this was seconds from disaster and between this music and the realisation that I knew about the disaster already, combined with having worked in a similar company for quite some time and having several pilot friends, it had a surprisingly strong impact on me. A sense of impending dread. Most unexpected.
Now by rewinding the events of that faithful day and by going deep into the investigation, we can reveal what happened to El Al 1862. Advance computer simulation will take us where no camera can go into the heart of the disaster Zone.
JAY MANDY Now using advanced computer technology we reveal what led to disaster at the Gardeleon. The American narrator made everything so dramatic lol.
UPS Flight 6 haunts me. I work in ground handling and the thought of one of my pilot friends suffering and dying alone like that genuinely unsettles me.
If only the shuttle was not buffeted by strong wind shear and the albeit temporary but strong Aluminum oxide seal had held on at the field joint for another minute. Its just a series of errors and conditions that came on together with disastrous consequences.
I don't think there's a bad track in all of SfD or Mayday really.....but I prefer this to Emergency Beat, the one they used after this one (which was also used by the WWE among others) I can't find a bad track in any episode at all. Whoever did the music for each ep nailed every single time, still holds up really, really, really well
A TWA jumbo jet: on a routine flight from new York to Paris France. Suddenly, it explodes and plunges burning into the Atlantic. There are 230 people on board. Was it a missile attack, a terrorist bomb , or a catastrophic mechanical failure!
On april 15th 2014 a ferry was sailing to jeju island but then the ship capsized 300 people were onboard only 200 died its the worst ferry sinking in maritime history
When I have a problem in my life and I want to reflect on the event, I immediately think of this music and start counting the critical events.

The jingle at the start of this track is probably what Seconds from Disaster is most famous for
Looking at their advanced computer simulations makes me laugh in 2019. Technology improves so fast.
no kid, that kind of cgi had been exist from early 1990s.The show is much more later, but just the words
Their tech and visuals improved over the years too if you compare earlier episodes with later ones
How you got ahold of this is beyond me. It sounds so crystal clear, so it's clearly from the source.
In the description it has the music name

I really would love to see an episode on the Iowa's turret incident.
