Deathroom Bathroom - Quake 3 "reqbath" map FFA gameplay in 2025

"Deathroom Bathroom" (reqbath) is my first map in the series od "rat maps". It represents a massive bathroom where the player is the size of a rat. Back in the day, the map was inspired by other similar creations that were popular at the time (for example, maps from the PadMan mod).
The story began when I initially wanted to create a huge washing machine that players could freely run around in. I don’t remember the exact approach I had in mind, but after creating its basic shape, the concept evolved, and I started building an entire bathroom. I later divided it into two rooms - the titular bathroom and a toilet.
The map includes a few curiosities from that era, and the textures are mainly based on Polish household items I had in my apartment at the time.
"Deathroom Bathroom" is best enjoyed in FFA mode with a large number of bots or friends. The map is so vast that with a small number of players, you’ll find yourselves searching for each other. Back then, I didn’t think much about gameplay balance; I was more focused on creating a space for pure mayhem, with players reduced to rat-sized proportions. :D
The gameplay video above is my attempt to revisit the map and see how it plays. The best way to play is on the OSP 1.03a mod.
