A pop supergroup from the mid 80s. Tony Thompson on drums; Andy and John Taylor of Duran Duran, Robert Palmer on vocals. One album, and a strong one all the way through. Check out “Communication” from the same album.
😄This reaction made me LAUGH! First the sneeze and then the vibes between you two... 😆😅 Loved this collaboration between Duran Duran & Robert Palmer Sending love (and heat) from the UK
Members: Robert Palmer (vocals) Bass: John Taylor (Duran Duran) Guitar: Andy Taylor (Duran Duran) Drums: Tony Thompson (Chic) 4:56: Duran Duran drummer Roger Taylor did the poppin’ drum fills throughout the song.
@@josephmanzuni8593 yes, I said guitarists, meaning lead and bass. Nick and John formed DD, then Roger joined, then Andy, and finally Simon in his neon pink leopard skin pants - lol
@@josephmanzuni8593The idea for The Power Station was John Taylor's, who shared his desire to do a cover of T.Rex's "Get It On" with Chic drummer Tony Thompson when the two went clubbing in France together. The two met in June 1983 when Thompson was in London drumming for David Bowie's Serious Moonlight Tour. This is where the idea for The Power Station initiated. The Power Station gained more momentum when Taylor & Thompson met again in Australia in November 1983. Duran Duran was getting ready to initiate their Sing Blue Silver World Tour to support the release of Seven And The Ragged Tiger, & the Serious Moonlight Tour was winding down its tour in Australia. Taylor & Thompson are the two that was behind getting additional personnel for The Power Station project. Bernard Edwards, Andy Taylor, Robert Palmer & Roger Taylor all followed Taylor & Thompson's lead to do the Get It On cover version. Obviously, one song materialized into a full-length album.
