Just make sure to jab your heels down as much as possible, say woah woah (but say it calm and steadily, almost as if your sayin woahhhhhhhh woahhhhhhh), and pull back on your reins (just make sure reins are short enough you don’t need to pull your elbows past your hip)

I’m sooo happy that you did this!!! I’m a Barrel Racer & I’m currently training my neighbors horse for them. All you have to do is stay calm, don’t scream, & don’t give them mixed signals and you will be fine! Also, the bigger horses are angels - the tiny ones are devils. 😂

One thing with horses is that it is always better to stay as calm as possible or to act calm or sing a song while u r sitting on them as when you sing you have to like breathe more and so they sense you are breathing and there is no reason to panick
