My Dad is in this video! He's the driver for Winston Churchill shovelling coal at the beginning! Amazing to see him the year before I was born! So happy you uploaded this! 😁
@@DerekSmith1949 that's nice to hear. My Dad unfortunately passed away in June 😞 but it made him really happy to see this video before he did, so thanks again for this being uploaded ❤
Great video, very enjoyable, thanks for posting. I have to disagree with your reviewer who finds the line unfriendly. I liked it so much, I ended up volunteering and becoming a driver. As for boring, I think five different steam locos in a fleet is pretty good going, and full twelve coach trains in the summer is hardly "no visitors"! The RHDR engines are lovely locos, but sadly not powerful enough to handle the trains over the Norfolk gradients - hence the present fleet of purpose built powerful locos.
OK but the RHDR locos are built for speed 4-6-2 + tender all Pacific's and the Romney marsh is mostly flat, yet if the RHDR mountains such as Samson were used 4-8-2 + tender, slower but with more pulling power. It also looks like the BVR uses larger scale rolling stock? I've seen Black prince and Churchill pull 10 carriages.

I spent many years behind the camera in the film industry before becoming marketing manager at the rhdr. I've also worked for other railways and spent a few years making films about railways. I am afraid it is my voice on the soundtrack - hope it didn't send you to sleep!
This looks like the good years of the BVR with the RH&DR locos running, today the BVR is boring, same engines all the time! no visitors! and can be sometimes unfriendly!

Thanks Derek, a very enjoyable film. Hopefully this little railway will come through these difficult times. Kind regards.

is it me or the sound is only mono?
Yes it is mono. When I filmed it mono was king - stereo was very expensive.
