It is a first-person survival horror game, seen from the perspective of multiple characters, that uses a modern, campus ghost story as the basis for its plot.
The Story
The Bridge Curse 2: The Extrication takes place at Wen Hua University, one of the ten universities in Taiwan known for its unsettling ghost stories. To attract new members to the film club, a group of students has decided to hold the Carnival of Horror in the Da Ren building, which abounds with rumors of ghost sightings. They plan on re-enacting a bizarre case that happened on campus decades ago and turning it into a horror movie, but as they rush to film in the depths of night, strange things start to happen...
At the same time, a reporter arrives on campus after receiving an eerie letter in hopes of resolving a mysterious missing persons case from the past. After piecing together a series of clues, the mystery unravels and a massive conspiracy covered in darkness is on the verge of emerging.
As they frantically try to escape, the terrifying being behind the specter-infested building gradually reveals itself... With demons closing in and impending doom at hand, will anyone survive the horrors of the night?

That ballet "fight" sequence was sooooo good.
the ballet segment is one of the coolest segments I've seen in games
god the ballerina section was so stressful but SO SO GOOD, the music, the dance the OHGOD I DON'T WANT TO DIE.. people need to do more games like this where it's tense and scary and not just "OOOGA BOOGA LOUD NOISE" in your face.
That's just what games have become
@@spicybeantofu yeaah, that's why a lot of western games are going down hill. Well that, stupidly high prices and horribly inaccurate localization with cringe dialogue or dialogue that ruins characters/story/plot.
Yeah this is true horror and that's why Asian media is so good at it. They not only have the most horrific ghosts in any one of their cultures, but they know how to scare without the ooga booga
Motion capture is an absolute gem in this game! Not only are the ballerina's movements silky smooth, but also all the characters' (including our protagonists) gestures and interactions are very emothional, which makes them extremely endearing.
I couldn't stop giggling after we clap our hands excitedly with Doc and immediately slap the shit out of him the next second
The ballerina's theme was so sweet and wistful; but, what a gruesome fate it foreshadowed. For me, the variety of scenarios makes this game even more engaging than the first. Really fun!
It's more engaging, better story telling, better dialogue, massive improvement. The first game was still so good too. Except that bathroom scene near the end, made me want to puke lol.
@@chiarra644 Agreed. Where's that "evil repelling" TP when you need it?! 🤣
Wow, that ballet sequence is amazing! What a way to create tension without relying on cheap scares!
I like when you're not alone and some ghosts are actually friendly.
But woaw that boss fight was something lol
The cutscenes in this game are just golden. They are rarely dry, rather made into much more realistic and humorous settings.
Ohh, goodness, that last dance was stressful even though it wasn't even me playing.
This game reminds me of White Day in the best of ways. I love getting to hear the ghost stories before experiencing them!
I was thinking that too, that this is almost more like White Day than the first Bridge Curse. But of course in a good way, especially since the White Day sequel was pretty bleh.
@@shroomyk I need to watch White Day. Didn't they make a second one?
I loved the ballet dance sequence.
A horror game about a ballerina. Never thought I’d see the day.
There are a lot actually
I just wanna say, as cheesey as the dub dialogue is, I absolutely adore it. The VAs have so much energy to them, it feels like they were having genuine fun while recording. Something about it feels so... nostalgic? Not sure if that's the right word, but it feels like the dubs from the 90s and early 2000s when they pretty much gave the VAs free reign to go nuts with their parts, and it resulted in some of the cheesiest, most memorable lines from that era. I'm thoroughly enjoying this.
Minor edit: The dancing animations are as smooth as butter! Props to the devs for making it look VERY real! Well done!
Right, I forgot I was watching an animation. The dancing was so beautiful.
This kind of hits hard for me. I took Ballet for 6 years and wanted to make a career out of it. However, my mom wouldn't let me.
she saved you from a lifetime of pain
Maybe it's best a hobby? Do you still do ballet?
@@brycestrife5605 No I don't sadly. I'm far too old and mostly out of shape.
@@kanseidorifto5367 I'd rather be dealing with that instead of what my mom did. Which was constantly tossed in my face that I couldn't make it as a career because I didn't start early enough.
No matter how hard I tried to prove that I could, my mom would always tell me that and she didn't care who overheard either. I started when I was 13 and she pretty much forced me to quit when I turned 18.
@@Wolfbane382you "rather deal with that" ? Really? For ballet companies to be rejecting you left and right and probably ending up to be some w**re? 13 is far too old, and even then most ballet dancers end up having to service old rich men because they have no choice but to quit at 25 years old.
Don't pretend like your mom was some kind of abusive monster who "constantly" tossed it in your face.
LOVE the ballerina fight. A juxtaposition of horror and beauty.😌
Even with her disfigurations she was still very beautiful
The ballet section is amazing. Looking forward to what the game has in store. Looks like this game will jump between multiple character viewpoints happening around the same time period. Looks like the architect is running for the main villain role, since he was the one who purposely screwed up the school's fengshui during its construction, also reported in the newspaper to be involved in a murder of passion. It's possible the film club that is making the movie knows about the urban legend where the architect trapped the girl Youyi in a mirror dimension forever. There seems to be a number of vicious ghosts in the school, but there are friendly ghosts like the dog and the doll (albeit a little malicious) that can help the protagonist.
The doll is so cute. She doesn't even hurt the victims that loses, just possesses them. She just wants to play. I think she might have been a kid.
“Rich Pop Poor Pop” is a reference to an existing book “Rich Dad Poor Dad”, love all the little references in this game
The Ballet part was amazing!!!!!
Agreed that was a fantastic sequence!!
The animation was so silky smooth and the dancing itself was so beautiful. The saddening part is she was so so talented but everyone including herself couldn't stop comparing her to her twin sister and that just wasn't right. She was talented but all the judgement got into her head and we all know, when you get in your head you make more mistakes.
You forgot to save the little green ghost before going down the stairs to the mad ballerina😅
It showed where she was trapped on the map
Feeling a lot of Home Sweet Home vibes. Especially the dancer sisters (Ratri and Tida, iirc, from HSH) and the accident. It isn't a bad thing! I do love this game and its quirkiness.
Huh, it IS very similar, now that you've said it. Both Ratri and the Mad Ballerina were not chosen to represent their school/campus as its main dancer in favor of their sister and resorted to dark rituals to fulfill their wish.
Funnily enough, despite their many similarities, their life is actually opposite of each other's. Ratri experienced the good side of favoritism; always being favored by her family and praised by other people. On the other hand, the Mad Ballerina experienced the bad side of favoritism; always being compared to her twin sister and even told by her teacher to give up her dream.
the last "survive the performance" was unnerving and fascinating at the same time. I liked this part!!
Gonna repeat what everyone else said already too: that ballet fight sequence was SO COOL!!!! DAMN, easily THE best and most unique sequence Ive ever seen in a game so far!! That was amazing!
I am absolutely FLOORED by how good this game is so far! I understand its hard to find a gem of a game every time so I don't really complain that the other horror games I watch don't really scare me.
But this game! The first chapter actually scared me! This chapter wasn't as scary but IT WAS SO GOOD, the tension with the Ballerina. And ofc seeing her story made us feel for her. Ah THE MUSIC, the mini heart jumps with how she comes real close to you! The first game wasn't scary but it was good, and this sequel is FANTASTIC! AGAIN, THE MUSIC!!!! Oh and ofc the smooth movements of the ballerina dancing was so good too, great job team!
"Not so close, not so close" This is how I imagine CJ would act at a meet and greet. 🤭 I'm really enjoying this playthrough, the plot of the game is more compelling than the first game.
This is slowly becoming one of my fave games its so good! I loved the first one as well so no surprise there.
The boss music for the ballet recital was 🤌✨
i think i agree that this ones even better than the first one, and the ballerina sequence is so so incredible.
also, im reminded of an outside xbox quote: "whats that saying, about making deals with the god of darkness? oh yeah, DONT."
Loved the ballerina part! Such a good game!
Glad you're making longplays again. Short videos of small games are fine, but long ones are my favs. Take care :)
That guy's mustache sent me over the edge
Very realistic USB animation lol. It's so awesome to have two excellent games on the go at the same time right now!
Oh man, that ballet fight was actually terrifying! It's reminding me of something I loved about the original Luigi's Mansion, which was that every ghost was different and had its own story. That certainly feels like a kid version of this in comparison, but I love seeing something similar playing out here. Thanks for playing this! What a chapter!
Wow that climax was both beautiful and intense. Great job Softstar Entertainment!
Still very fun, even if this chapter felt more goofy (at times) and disjointed than the first one. Looking forward for part 3 !
The ballerina sequence - all of it- is fantastic. Just wow.
Thanks for playing Chris! 💗👍🏼
Wu Zi-nan is giving me Sokka vibes
Watched a gazillion gaming youtubers but your commentary is the best, meaning least annoying and most intellectual. Also, you are good at not dying. Props for that.
please never stop making videos, you have such a gift when it comes to these videos that make people actually want to play along with you it's inspiring especially when life gets tough thank you
Doc's chaotic energy is hilarious.
Such a good ghost doggie! Also, who was the other person found murdered? Seems like a significant fact that no one is focusing on, and will probably be a major clue!
Tea n me both are ready n it's 1 am here.. PERFECT timing for a CJU gameplay 😌
I think I mentioned this in the first game, but the way the characters move and speak to each other feels so natural. The voice acting and animation is incredible.
This is so well made. Like i cant stop watching you play it
Very captivating story, with some gruesome outcome. Seems everything comes with a price. This game is an interesting mash of serious spooks and goofiness.
This game feels fresh, really liked the doll and ballerina battle and the puzzles are pretty neat too.
Alright, the ballerina was really frigging good. Also, she kind of a baddie
What a great game! I love how the NPCs actually act with some personality. Good and creepy stuff. (Edit: typo)
There is a lot of cute artwork in this game. I think it does a good job of balancing the mischievous and playful ghosts with the bad and really scary ones.
couldn't end the night without a great notification from CJU that he uploaded the second part of *the bridge curse* 👻✌🏼
My theory is that the green orb is the spirit of the sarge's wife or founder's daughter.
You solving those puzzles instantly got me thinking “yeah, my brain works way differently than yours” 😂😂😂 Completely lost me there
very very cool game! big respect to devs for such charasmetic and beatiful game!:D
This game is freacking awsome! I love this caracters) The top of them are The doll, Doc an Ricky. Ghosts are super cool, this balerina makes me feel not only fear, but sorrow as well. The part with an eye - omg, i knew something like this would happen (from the notes before) but it was so cool scened! I hope, that the A-Hai adventure would be alike, but with a lot new) Thanks for your gameplay, I really apreciate this
28:36 Yeah, they all had different coloured hoodies, you happened to choose the ones wearing red. Don't know if that was luck or intentional.
So far, this has been a real treat! I can't wait to see the next episode. 😁👍
Nice video and at 2min 30 seconds he better not start running he's gonna start flying with his deltaplane !
I love it! I’m looking forward to the next one. Stay safe!
I like how the guy with the fake mustache has the same personality as the doll ghost...maybe thats why he got easily possessed because their Soul-mates.. LoL
That was enjoyable watching.. looking forward for the next 😊👍
Good job with the hide-and-seek ghost. I saw someone else die twice to her.
A kickass game can't wait for part 3, Let's go CJU!!!
Woahhh you're fast 🔥🔥🔥 Amazing gameplay 👏👏👏
Great!👍,I didn’t think we’re get this two days in a row.
I am really enjoying this one better than the first one. I can't wait to see more :)
Somehow, this game is making me think of Corpse Party, with the school setting, multiple protagonists, and mix of trapped ghosts! (Wouldn't mind seeing Chris play that, or Fatal Frame.)
Wow Tun Town takes me back, it was such a fun game, hopefully they will be on steam one day
This is so good.. but I’m also missing indika! So invested in that story as well
Part 3 for Indika is coming tomorrow
@@CJUGamesyou’re the best!!! These are two very good and compelling games in very different ways! Amazing content from you as always! The ballet section reminded me a lot of layers of fear 2 for some reason… but yeh.. amazing games !
Excited for part 3
Hi cju thank you for playing 😊
Feeling old now feeling old.. I remember when the gameboy came out..
i remember promising my mom that i would get an A and that it was both my christmas and birthday present. I remember getting pokemon blue for it too
I remember the NES (First Nintendo) coming out when I was only around 4 years old. My mom got one for my brother and we played it all the time! Oh the memories!
@@mandivvy My first game i beat was Zelda link to the past the very first one lol I have played duck hunt also when nes came out. God I feeling really old now lol
@@baz9293yesss I got my gameboy color for Christmas when I was like 8 and got Pokémon red and blue at the same time. Traded blue in for Zelda link to the past and played red :) really good memories.
I had a gameboy advance the year it came out and I was born 1994. So the gameboy was a bit before my time, but this still makes me feel hella old.
Being off of college is perfect cause I'm always online when he uploads 😎😎
I love this series!!!
Fingers crossed you play the survival horror KAMLA, Chris! It's not my type of game because it's too scary, so I'd love to see you play it.
This game is so excellent!
The dance part was very imaginative. Excellent, actually.
loved the first game now this is just a master piece , the mad ballerina dance sequence was deff my favorite
that dance is so intenseeeeee
I am a sub over dub guy, but this one is golden lmao 😂😂😂
Moustache guy ftw
The validation in your voice when the mustache went flying was everything.
That whole part of them setting up a movie scene was interesting. I’ve never seen it done with figurines. It’s smart!
What is the song the ballerina dances to on stage?
Prelude tranquil spring day
Movement one the coming storm
movement 2 the cries of a spirit ship
The music in this segment was beautiful!
Anyone else think the guy in the thumbnail looks like John Cusack?
Yeah, I can see it too.
I thought that too!
Does anyone know the title of the song that starts at 1:10:36? Or maybe devs made their own for this scene? 🤔🤔
Awww bridge curse 1 was the game that led me to find ur channelll❤❤❤
1:09:40 yeah I did not see that coming
Man, between the 'broken neck' lady, and now a girl having her eye ripped out, this game gruesome but also not over the top gory 😱😱😱
Yes, we need it, please let me know if you already know it., this song 1:09:10
Yeah part 2😄😄😄
Had a bad day but this playthrough is excellent. You are spoiling us so much with this and Indika.
I was just watching this, eating a bowl of Malt O Meal. A little butter, milk, and a little scoop of brown sugar.
As soon as that dude popped up and showed that mustache and CJU said “that can’t be real” I snort laughed Malt O Meal out my nose.
That part was awesome and it reminds me of the Home Sweet Home game a lot
What a joy to watch! Thanks, CJU.
27:42 Wen Hua!
Thank you for the game,CJ.I really like your playthrough.I think this game is much better than the first one.All i remember from the first game that the plot of the game and the characters were confusing,to say the least. Here the plot and characters are much more enjoyable, great work! This chapter was creepy, especialy with this ballerina(,whos story was ectually sad).Cannot wait for the next chapter of your playthrough!Wish you good luck and have a nice day !
This was so good. Excited for more!!!
hand? what hand? oh, doc..
Once again these college characters are the best.
Thanks CJ for all you do!
I'm your big fan from India kindly, kamla the new launched horror game
We definitely still want more Indika, though. That game is wild and so interesting
