  • In many cases, there is no controller that directly controls the speed of a single-phase motor or mitigates the start-up shock. However, the ATO VFD is a bold attempt, specifically for single-phase motors. Order link: www.ato.com/si...

    Should i need to remove motor capacitor before installing VFD?

      You can test it without load. If it runs normally, you can try to drive the load. If the motor heats up normally, you don't need to remove the capacitor.

    Could it run at 5hz frequency

    Can VFD connect with two windings capacitor motor?, i have VFD only L1, L2, and two windings capacitor motor, can i connect it with capacitor on vfd output?

    I want vfd required, vfd specification below.
    Input & Output volt 110Ac
    Frequency 60Hz
    1.5kw capacity

    Can we use any 3 phase VFD to control 1 phase motor?

      @ATOcom  ปีที่แล้ว

      Ordinary VFD does not work, you can try turning off the phase loss protection.

    can this be used on a single phase 240 v milling machine or small lathes

    • @automationwork5904
      @automationwork5904 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Can use. However, it is not recommended to directly adjust the speed. When a single-phase motor is connected to a single-phase VFD, the low torque is not strong.

    Is it started at full speed so the centrifugal switch stops and avoids overheating? Also can this work on a 1.1KW 2 Pole 240V 1.5HP Dual capacitor motor?

    • @ATOcom
      @ATOcom  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, it is recommended to run at a speed higher than 80% of the motor's rated speed to allow the centrifugal switch to open.

    1 phase motor likes pump has a running capacitor..how to connect wire to the motor?

    • @automationwork5904
      @automationwork5904 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can directly connect to the VFD without removing the capacitor. The operating speed is more than 80% higher than the rated speed of the motor.

    Could this be used to shift phase of equipment like a 3D printer where phase of equipment causes flickering of lights etc? To isolate and move equipment off 60 hz to say 59 hz

      Are you referring to a frequency converter?

      @@ATOcom while yes I am. no I am not. that is very expensive for my goal which is to vary the frequency of the power from 120 or 240V 60hz AC to maybe 59 hz or 61hz just some variable "off" the natural frequency of the mains power. where as those look like very high end ways to provide power that replicates that of overseas locations. by and large if you have something like electronics or a motor it doesnt so much care if it sees 50 or 60 hz. but since my power is 60hz my light bulbs are flickering at 60 hz and if I run say a 3D printer which is drawing current for the heaters and causing a harmonic then I get to live in a club which my printer is running. where as a VFD possibly I could use to modulate the frequency the 3D printer is seeing so maybe the lights wouldnt strobe. I do have an ATO drive for my drill press but I assumed that I shouldnt run that and tap a single leg of it to run q 3d printer which is why I am wondering how a single phase would do if it's not powering a motor but instead just an AC to DC power transformer at something near a 60 hz setting

      Currently, the only devices that can achieve the functions you mentioned are the ones I sent you the link to earlier...@@bryceg5709

      59 hz is a very bad choice, because there is gonna be 1hz flickering ^^, you know, one second they match, the other they dont.

    Can you reverse it?

    • @ATOcom
      @ATOcom  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can only reverse the rotation of the motor through the wiring indicated on the motor nameplate.
