Her voice is both unique and soothing. She was a hippie folk Goddess for the first half her career and an artistic jazz musician and singer in the 2nd half of her 50 year music career. Genius tonal guitarist and singer/songwriter. Check out her "Blue" album.
Thank you - i really enjoyed this reaction and the respect you showed this incredible artist. Some people doing these reactions have to inject their egos every few bars of the music. They interrupt and talk so much that i wonder how they heard anything at all. Thank you for listening intelligently. Nice.
A simple appreciation of an amateur street musician by a super star. The word amateur comes from the root, amar, meaning life. An amateur is someone who does something because they love it. Joni new this
Joni is incomparable. She goes straight to your soul. I can't think of any other female artist remotely on her level. The closest artist in my opinion was/is Sarah McLaughlin on her album, 'Fumbling Towards Ecstacy', In particular the songs, 'Posession' and 'Elsewhere'. Sarah is also Canadian like Joni. So many of amazing artists came out of that country. Would love your reaction to to either of these songs. Very deep and powerful album and artist. Pls react to them. I think she will touch your soul as they have many others'.💟
That song is from my favorite album of hers “Ladies of the Canyon”. You should definitely listen to the whole album just for yourself. It will do your soul good.
So glad you stumbled into Joni. She and Kate Bush are two of the most revered singer songwriters out there. If, and when, you get the chance, please react to All I Want, My Old Man, Help Me, and Be Cool (studio versions), Sex Kills (live on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno) and Night Ride Home/Number One. This clip is two songs and a short interview. You can skip the interview and the first song (Night Ride Home). Number One starts around 8:45....This woman is regarded as a legend for not playing the music scene, for her span of work, for setting the standard. Hope you have a chance to experience these songs!
She’s the best. Check out her catalogue, from folk to rock to jazz. An album that doesn’t get much attention but is superb is For The Roses. Let the Wind Carry Me, , Barangrill, See You Somerime, are just a few that are wonderful. Thank you!
You have stumbled across one of the greatest artists in the past 150 years. If she hadn't been a woman she would be considered more important than Dylan, Waits, Lennon & McCartney and anyone else you could put against her.
@@bertcushman7427 From her wikipedia page? It says this about it. "At school Mitchell struggled; her main interest was painting. During this time she briefly studied classical piano." Briefly studying something when one is eight years old does not make one that thing. That is not being a trained concert pianist. Briefly studying and training to be professional at something are not equivalent. Joni Mitchell is a completely unique artist who defies categories. She is not a trained classical musician and would never claim to be.
Prolific songwriter, beautiful voice, and a great guitarist. She's a legend for a reason and has inspired many artists in their creative pursuits.

“Help Me” is my favorite jazzy sublime song by her. She goes in so many directions!

Please listen to her album "Blue". She was the best singer-songwriter in the 60s/70s. She plays guitar, piano, dulcimer.

coyote - the last waltz -
joni is a concert trained pianist, little known fact, unless you're a follower. I have been a major fan from day one..
cheers 🍾🍾🍾🏳️🌈
No I had no idea. Thank you
Actually not. She is completely self-taught.
Wrong, Joni is self taught.

she very well be self tought, but she did study concert piano.
I have read about it

The difference between the music from then til now, shows the difference in humanity.. I pray for nuclear war..
