Great video! I feel I know the answer, but is there anywhere that auto maps the keyboard onto SD controller? Or do you have to lookup info (as said in video) and map it yourself? Thanks
@leroygetz6213 thank you so much for the kind words. Also thank you for the sub! Means the world to me. Yes! Exactly the same process, no it’s the DOS version 😊
I'm getting a 'CDrom Driver Error' when DOSBox is trying to boot the game. Which I'd assume is because I have the CD version of 96/97. Is there a workaround or should I just be looking for the floppy disk version of the game?
@@iHenpie Ye, grabbed the floppy version and it boots without any problems. The first one I found happens to be the 16/17 mod version, which is actually great (same game, 16/17 season players and stats), and it already had the thumbstick and buttons mapped. Need to tinker though as no pause button, but still pretty out-of-the-box ready. Thanks for the response though, and the video! Super helpful stuff.
I came here looking how to set up the Discworld point and click adventure which I think was only available on CD. I got it running on Windows a while back; you need to grab an ISO image of the CD and give Dosbox some commands to mount the image as a CD and assign it a drive letter. I'm guessing these would go into the .sh file as you would in a .bat file on Windows.
@@iHenpie I download rom of dos game Batman Forever 1996. Tryed to play on a PC on DosBox-x - worked perfectly. Then I moved it rom on steam deck, followed your instructions, but had an issue. Tryed to run it through Steam, opened a window of Dosbox, but game didnt run. Text appeared in that window.
@@iHenpie I solved a problem. There were 2 files in folder BATMAN.EXE and PLAY NOW. Ive chosen the second. But having another issue - sound is glitching... trying to play wis dosbox config file...
@retrofoxxx I’m so glad you sorted it and sorry I couldn’t have been anymore help. When I did a quick google search on it there was mention of the sound glitching issue. I will see if I can dig out the link
Hi, thank you for watching. Thanks for your question! I can’t provide any information on obtaining ROMs, as downloading or sharing ROMs for games you don’t own the rights to can be illegal. I’d recommend looking into legal alternatives, like purchasing the game or using legitimate game services. Emulation can be legal if you’re using backups of games you own, but it’s always best to ensure you’re following the laws in your country.
Thank you. This was simple to follow.

Thank you! So unfortunately I don’t think there is. If you find one please let me know but the only way I have found is to manually do it.
Holy crap! That worked!! You rule, bro! Thank you so much!

Hey 👋 thanks for the question, I can’t say I have encountered this one. I would look for the DOS floppy disk version

@4d4m22 I would imagine it would be the same process as creating the .sh file to root it. Give it a go and let me know how you get on 😊

@@retrofoxxx so I think this is to do with the sound. Are both versions of DOSBox the same?
