My 5 year old granddaughter loves her Paleo Pack! Every time she comes over, we sift through it little by little. She already found some really cool stuff. She especially likes to find the tiny shark teeth. Thank you ❤️
PaloeCris - I got them, like them, sent you email to ask a few questions and show off my finds. Sadly you have not replied. Can you look for it? Is from cmi@ (rest kept out of public)
My son love the pack I got him last yr for his birthday. You have any suggestions on where we could go to find sharks teeth? We are coming down from Va to stay on the Rainbow River soon and wanted to take the kids digging.
VA is an excellent state, actually. The banks of the Potomac river are great for multiple different age shark teeth. Try googling “va cliffs shark teeth”, “Potomac river shark teeth” and other variations of those searches...if you read a bit, you can find specific spots to go. The Rainbow River can have shark teeth of Eocene age, but you’ll need to dive for them. Gainesville creeks (tributaries of Hogtown Creek) are excellent surface hunting places for smaller shark teeth. Do not dig there. The laws have recently changed (or been reinterpreted, to be more accurate) and they are cracking down on any digging in that county.
I lived in Florida for 58 years. Never did I ever find such wonderful treasures. Small Sharks teeth at Manasota Beach, but nothing else. You find such cool and fabulous fossils.
Those Crystal formations you like, where the crystals radiate out.... that's called a spray crystal cluster. One of my favorites also. Especially Tourmaline spray clusters. The earth is Amazing. Give Wild Kyle a big high five for me. Cool video. Take it easy y'all.....💎🤙
Allright you guys, lets do some more of these ones !!!!!!! Love it, and you kids are so having fun. It makes allof us wish we were there ! This was seriousely fun, if thats possible ! Love you both. and Derick too !
My gosh this looked like way too much fun! Love it when you guys collab! That calcite, those amazing big clam fossils! Just WOW! I would be losing my mind! incredible video as always!😄
I love your enthusiasm. I laugh when I watch you because when you find amazing things you sound just like me😁 I live in Indiana right on the border of Michigan so I have ALOT of amazing places to go rock hounding
I’m glad you can understand the sometimes over the top enthusiasm. 🤣 You are definitely in a great location for rockhounding. I can’t wait to get back to Michigan later this year for more rockhounding.
The Purple Flowers are Dutch Iris, which proabably means there was a home there at some point in time. They are a popular flower with florists. Cool adventure! Thanks for taking us along.
I enjoy you and Kyle together so much. The fun you Guys have is nice. The UV stuff is really insane, hope you do more of them. Cant wait for your next adventure!
I agree that the small crystals are the prettiest. For me it is because you can see their individual structure and light. The two that formed in a fan pattern are unique, differing in structure from the other calcite.
That was crazy amazing 😮 I loved seeing you guys playing with the UV lights out there. I had no idea the effects it would have on everything. Ii would love to see more like this. You guys are awesome! Thank you so much for sharing your enlightening adventure with us 😊
Those are some great looking Chrystals. The flowers are irises known by different names wood, marsh and I’m sure others also. Great video guys y’all seem to feed off each other’s energy
OMG....I am SOOO jealous of your night time digging!!! I wonder if there's anything to compare in Northern Michigan!?! They have the "Yooperlite" up in the Upper Peninsula.... Great job, guys!
This was a GREAT show tonight. Love watching you and Kyle because your happiness and excitement is contagious! You make me smile. Interesting and EDUCATIONAL show tonight. Love also the red leaves that were UV exposed......Thanks, my lovely science nerds! Oh CRIS be sure to re-check your insta DMs from me from Xmas regarding the echinoids Im looking for! (Nudge nudge) Take care guys!
Will do Megan! I was actually thinking about that today. I have too much in the mental queue lately for some things not to slip out. I’ll check and reply soon. Thanks for watching the vid and commenting!
15:05 Those are Iris flower's. Break rock's along the sides in case of fossils... you know that. 😅 Beautiful sunset! Seeing those flowers under UV light makes me want to buy one! 🤩
PaleoCris: "It's getting weird here, my friends!" TH-cam channel: "More! More! More!" Awesome video, and so much fun. Hope you guys eventually got some food and some sleep. Can't wait to see the next one!
They have the prettiest yellow gold color. Would love to find one myself. the small crystals that have broken away would make some beautiful jewelry. Could grind some up and add to paint pigment, would love to try that with a small amount to see how it would look in a wave painting in the foamy white caps!
You boys are in love even if y'all don't know it yet! 🥰🤝🥰 Some really beautiful pieces here. Something of a mystery as to what's causing the fluor/phosphorescence though. Typically the activator element in fluorescent and phosphorescent calcite is manganese which gives an orange fluorescence under longwave 365nm UV such as used here, but so far as I can see no one really seems to know what causes green like you observe. Best guesses are organic contaminants (which make sense given that this is certainly a marine derived karstic calcite, confirmed by the shark tooth find), but another albeit remote possibility is uranium. I think it's unlikely but couldn't hurt to check it with a geiger counter. In any case, get yourself a shortwave UV light to check the pieces again, they will almost certainly fluoresce a different color AND phosphoresce a different and much longer lived color. For a real treat, source some liquid nitrogen from a welding supply to put some samples in and check the phosphorescence again while cold, the brilliance and increased lifetime will most assuredly be incredible.
Hi Chris, The flowers are Blue flag, Iris Virginica. It loves moist swampy areas so perfect for Florida. 😊 Btw, the flower you thought was opening was a finished one. Loving your finds too! 😍

My watching, and my jaw fell open. I wish I had that kind of calcite stuff where I am...
I’m thinking Florida road trip January next year... I have one of these clams so cool! So many cool fossils in Florida! And... it’s warm!!! 😂
