    Thank you very much Kenny. Your tutorials are very informative, non-condescending and the smoothness of your voice makes it very easy to follow along with you. I'm recovering from 20 years of being down. A hog's revenge for slaughtering millions of them suckers. I know better than I was when I went down but videos like these help to rebuild what I know I am truly capable of. So from the bottom of my heart, Kenny I'm grateful for your videos and your style of teaching. Peace out brother

    Hey, I have all of my tracks are grouped in folders, but when I render them it's not keeping the folder volume change to the stems, so they are louder than the -5 db on volume fx I added on the folder. Is there a way to preserve this? (I guess 'selected tracks via master' and then disable master fx if you so choose to, but the render will include the folder master fader/FX with it)

    What if I only make math rock? My tempo and time signatures are changing a lot through the project. Should I embed the project tempo? Or should I create a blank midi file and embed tempo and time signatures there for the mixer to import first as a map?

    Before doing the export, what should the level for each track be set at? What about the pan? I usually have set things up with my initial mix, as a way of checking that things are working the way I want. Any suggestions?

    Would be great to have an option to do this all at once. a function that glues every single track that has gaps in it, and then adds empty spaces to the start and endings to fit the time region setting. if one button could do that would be very helpfull. maybe a macro or shortcut assignment to a key on the keyboard.

    Hi, can the exported files be emailed ok? Just thinking of a way of my band using Reaper to record in our homes, take in turns to record, so me recording the drums, then email to bass player, bass player records bass then emails to singer etc etc, then all emailed back to me to do the mixing....

    • @djabthrash
      @djabthrash 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They're (audio) files so they can be emailed like any other type file (picture, text, video...).
      However, their size might be too big for emailing, so you might wanna use websites like WeTransfer or Cloud services like Google Drive / Dropbox, ti share your (large) files.

    Kenny may have covered this, and maybe I just missed it.... did he mention dithering in this video? From what I understand, you don't want to dither stems during export if they're going to be imported into a mixing session. Can someone confirm/explain this? I tried to export stems that I recorded in Reaper so that I can import them into Studio One for a mixing session. When I bounced my final mix in Studio One, it sounded like complete ass. I went back to Reaper and just did the mixing all over again. I basically did everything the same as I did during my Studio One session and then I bounced the Reaper mix and compared it with the studio one mix. The reaper mix sounded way better. They should sound the same though, right? it's not like DAWs add color to a mix. I think I must have done something wrong when I exported the stems from Reaper...I'm not 100% sure, but I think I dithered the stems during the export and someone said that may be the problem. Help me out please? Thanks!

    Hey Kenny! Thanks for your videos, very helpful!
    I was wondering if there was a way to send a track with each takes still available?
    That would mean that each track won't be one full audio file but several takes placed wherever during the song. The idea here is to share my project with other bandmates in order to write music together.
    Thanks!

    What's the difference between this and rendering a project?

    • @TheDuerden
      @TheDuerden 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Rendering a project is essentially a 'mix down' of all of your tracks into a single file. This creates multiple files, useful if you are working on a project, but want to go to mix down mode without worrying removing the 'ideas' you have been playing with whilst setting out the song.
      I am about to use this process to place all of my Direct Input guitars into a new project without worrying about placement or the effects I have been playing around with, so that I can mix down my track from scratch without manually doing each guitar track and moving it to a new project. Hoping it will save a lot of time.

    Thanks for the video Kenny! I would like to ask a question, maybe there is a small chance that you can help me with the short answer :) I know that the easiest way to export tracks with fx from Reaper is by selecting "stems" in Render files menu and select all the tracks you need to export. But the problem is that in my projects many tracks are in folders and folders are considered as tracks also and if I have some fx chain on my folder track, then by selecting only child track the export will bypass folder's fx chain and the file will contain only fx chain that was on the child track. Is there a possibility to use the stems export function without bypassing folder's fx chain when selecting child track for export? I'm sorry for the long and confusing question :)
