@@LifeOfBurch I'm still laughing about what an amazing deal it was weeks later hahah. A guy was being deployed the next day and needed to get rid of his bike FAST. Oh that’s awesome! It sounds like you’ll only be about an hour from where we’ll be. I’ll definitely have to plan some sort of meetup while we’re there! Maybe have the locals show us some of the best roads 🙌🏻
Here's something for the Bucket list... I'm planning on doing some of it this Christmas & NewYears (because it's summer holidays) Adventure riding around New Zealand. at least the North Island... I've only ever been all the way north to Cape Reinga to see the line between the Pacific Ocean and Tasman Sea once, and the weather wasn't quite what it is in January when it's at it's best. So I'll head north first, maybe ride 90mile Beach on the way there (I have an adventure bike, so why not?) then do the east coast beaches all the way down, I'll steer clear of Masterton as the idea of the road through the Gauge on a bike is crazy. Imagine a road 1/2 way up the side of the Grand Canyon... that's what it's like! Foxton Beach is a place where I have been for Sleddog racing, but never got to experience the beach in summer or even in the daytime, so I have to go across the Island for that, Lake Taupo? No I've done that enough times, I'd have to head back up the west coast until I reach Raglan, then Go straight back across to the Coromandel peninsula to finish of the Holidays at the best beaches in the entire country when everyone else has already gone back to work! It seems all the overseas visitors with ADV based YT channels keep heading straight for the South Island, and miss out the best part of New Zealand (the Coromandel) I would love for someone to showcase that rather than Arthers pass yet again like everyone else... Maybe it could be you?
Great video, Burch! I also don't listen to music while I ride, even though my Cardo is on at all times and I've had a Cardo since the day I started riding. Motovlogging is distracting enough for me, last thing I need is more distractions with music lol.
If you do want to finance, the best way to do it, and ive done this with 3 machines... be able to put roughly half down in cash, or 40%. Then make double payments on the bike. Your loan will be payed off in less then 2 yrs, you wont get screwed by the massive finance rates... Its the only way i would buy a new bike. If you can only afford the minium payment on the bike, it will take you forever to pay it, and you will be giving the bank thousands extra.
Let's get some Navi content.. thats how I 1st found you... no matter what I ride. I'm always keeping the Navi. Can't wait to speed 100 on the new blue color plastics
Brah! You are a brave man admitting to the world that you financed a 3k bike (XR150L). WTF ?? You really got away from your previous excellent message to NOT finance. But I understand the temptation and ‘need’ for more-bikes-equals-more-content. Glad that you are course-correcting now. ☮️
Even though I’ve been watching before you had the SCL500, It’s the bike that comes to mind when I think of a Burch video. It’s the Burchiest Bike in my mind if that makes sense.
That’s interesting! To most people I’m the “Rebel Guy”. But I’d agree that the SCL500 is objectively more of a “Burch Bike” than the Rebels are! I just looove the styling of it 😩
Still didn't completely finish yet (was at work, just got off), but about the headphones thing, seeing it in comments figured I'd throw my opinion out there. Well, in short, without noise in my ears I just get anxious and need audio stimulus to focus and go mind-numb on anything but what I'm doing (aka less easily distracted by random cute dogs in cars or whatever non-threat). But uh yeah... I need noise in my ears to focus, whether it's a book that I know cover to cover or whether it's Octave by Delph (no vocals), Sweet Dreams by Eurythmics (heavy on vocals), or Control by VNV Nation (medium-amount of vocals, it's mainly techno) that shit is blasting and I just keep it on loop so I don't have to skip around to find the right song for the mood/traffic flow. Super short: noise in my ears is a must. If it's not music playlist than I'm listening to Harry Potter series on audible (whenever I stop mid-series I go back to Book 1, probs listened to Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone like 30 times).
I hear ya man, I got 2023 rebel 500 SE, I paid 6k for it with 70 miles put 3k down and I pay 125 month for 2 years...then right after I got a 2024 model Y so I went from having 20k in my bank to back paycheck to paycheck, I dont ride a lot so I sometimes think about getting rid of my rebel, but idk im invested and like you said its a stress reliever.
If you're in the Chattanooga area, or shit even mid-east Tennessee, Northwest Georgia, or East Alabama, lemme know. Wpuld be down to pick up the Rebel 500.
You learn fast. I put 80,000 miles on one motorcycle. I sat back one day and tried to figure out where all those miles came from. It was from riding around town and going to friends house less than 20 miles away. small bikes to me, seem more practical. Try a apple for dry mouth. The pH in an apple is the same as your saliva. It really works. I have owned an FTRS. They are overrated. I’m telling you, get a used SV 650.
I brough My bike using cash... well eftpos, but the full amount was saved up... I could of done the finance thing, but I wanted to enjoy it, and paying it off would have cost more and just soaked up the cash I would have needed to enjoy it. There have been people who turned their nose up at the fact I paid for it in full, thinking I had too much money etc and can't understand that waiting to own it makes having it so much better, give it a greater "personal Value" and costs a great deal less than the alternative. but these are people who have always paid more than they should to get it easily and not made any sacrifice to get it & have it mean so much more!
Hey Burch great channel! I need your expert Rebel opinion. We recently got a 2021 Rebel 500 with around 1500 miles on it and it rides great except we get a lot of excessive vibrations from the engine at higher RPM's. It has a cheap aftermarket crash cage on it that I am suspecting is amplifying the engine vibrations. Have you ever experienced this or have heard of this issue? I am thinking of taking off the crash cage to see if that makes a difference or not. Other than that the bike is very fun and enjoyable :)
29:53 hahaha 😅 if the motorcycle cafe ever happens I know a guy that can run a lean kitchen. (The laughing isn't at you, it's at the mental thought of me working in a café for you, just funny thinking about)
My 2013 dyna and 05 road king were financed. At times my only transportation was a cycle, only bike i ever was able to pay cash for was an 03 honda sabre and miss it very much
I also should watch whole video before commenting, but I've always said a moto with gps and a radio and a fairing is just 2 wheels shy of a mazda miata.😂😂😂
My question would be when are you going to flash the ECU on the rebel 1100 I've heard of some amazing gains but can't find a good video showing the difference
I had a Rebel 300. Great urban bike. But not good for highway or country roads. Because that single cylinder thumper vibrates SO bad. It felt like the bike was going to fly apart because of the vibration. Butt, feet and hands all went numb after high rpm riding. It had to go...
@@danlford Since it’s a toy I don’t really need it and would rather pay cash from something. With cash the dealership will waive some fees and there are a lot of hidden fees with financing a motorcycle and in todays current economic situation would rather not. If I can’t pay cash for it I don’t need it and rather save for retirement or something more meaningful
@@LifeOfBurch This is something id consider watching from time to time, i think id be a great idea as a way to dump unedited and/or slightly edited videos for people to watch if they wanted to and hopefully wont take as much time as the videos on the main channel.
I noticed what you said about the Honda rebels in the used market and their prices. funny enough I’m actually selling my 500 for 5k lol 700 miles too I like my sportster better tbh
Heya burch, don't know if you remember me (the man from France that want a rebel) Well let's say a used one is almost 7 grand here, like wtf are in people's brain. Sadly I can't afford it, and since they don't sell the 300 here in Europe, and I need a bike (I don't drive cars even tho I have the permit) The rebel plan is on hold 😢
I can't stand city or interstate riding. Too much 18 wheeler traffic on the interstate and too much stop and go in town. I ride mostly country roads cause the scenery is nice and light traffic. 😎
Yessirrr just got our place booked a few days ago! We’ll be there all week! I’m thinking about doing a little meetup while I’m down there, so keep an eye out for any posts about that 😎🤘🏻
Music in cars is OK, but not on bikes. Riding a motorcycle is like therapy where you clear your mind and just concentrate on the ride and your surroundings.
Motorcycles aren’t a hobby. Motorcycles are a fun method of transportation. I can’t stand riding around cities and enjoy the twisty back roads or long highway stretches across trips. Would never get an e-bike especially if it means someone wants to stop me and talk to me about it every couple minutes.
As a fellow introvert, it's a mixed bag. I have a 2003 Sportster, and after 2 group rides, I've found that I largely prefer riding alone. But I've also found that on occasion if I've stopped somewhere, people will start talking to me about my bike (or occasionally my Brake Free helmet light). Even though my Sporty is filthy and a little rusty, people with nicer bikes still compliment it. It's kind of fun... up to a point. If it's a brief "hey, cool bike!" and "hey, yours too!", it's kind of nice. If it winds up being 10+ minutes of someone talking AT me when I'm itching to hop back on and go, then it gets a little intrusive (though it can be amusing as well if not too invasive).
@@packgrog Honestly, every biker I've run into has been cool and easy to talk to. It's the non-bikers that are the occasional incredibly awkward exchange.

honda turned me down for a loan, i saved up and bought a harley. glad i bought the harley, but i still love the rebel 1100. ps i made 85k at the time, and I am a single father of 2 and owned a house. bought the low rider st in cash. Also I edited, because i wanted to tell you Burch that i'm happy for you and that we can all get through tough times ahead of us. I've been in a situation close to yours. I'm glad it happened as i'm happier after that situation. It takes time but at the end of it, We can make it better. Glad your doing well bro! You're a good human being and we need more positive people like you!
People are switching to bikes because of this economy so your content will prove useful for years to come, keep up the great work dude!
Thanks so much dude!! I appreciate ya! 🙌🏻🙏🏻
i love the part of "i cant afford my bikes" but me and Nina got a new one ;P you remind me of my self my friend ;)
The formula for how many bikes you need is always “X + 1”, with X being however many you currently have 😂🤘🏻
@@LifeOfBurch 😜 totally agree
Woo hoo! Howdy Burch!
What uppp!! 😎🤘🏻
Another great video! Can't wait for the FTR content 🙌.
I got my 2022 Rebel 1100 for $4k, with 3900 miles on it - just saying. The deals are there if you can 1) find them on CL & FB 2) get there first. I did have to widen my search to about 200mi radius, but glad I did.
How the actual FUCK did you get an 1100 for $4k??? I know how to find deals…but I’ve NEVER heard of a deal on an 1100 like that 😳🤯 Clean title? Ever laid down? Shit it could’ve been half wrecked and I’d buy it for $4k 😂
Either way though, she wouldn’t have wanted an 1100. I’d have flipped that jaunt for a $4k profit the next day and she’d have a “free” 500 with the profit lol
@@LifeOfBurch I'm still laughing about what an amazing deal it was weeks later hahah. A guy was being deployed the next day and needed to get rid of his bike FAST. Clean title, had a lien through Honda Financial that he just wanted enough to get it paid off. Def a little nervous as a cash buyer, but we did everything through official channels and I just got the title in the mail yesterday.
Ironically I bought it because I was planning to flip it, but I loved it so much that I'm keeping it. I found your channel from all the 1100 content, and here I am!
@@josht717 bro that is seriously a once in a lifetime deal! Congrats!! You could ride that thing for 5 years and STILL flip it for a profit 😂🤘🏻
Ooooo I hope you hit that 100k asap
Heck ya I love my indian FTR 1200 s , definitely Glad you are getting FTR
Great video Burch !!! 🤙🏽
Look forward to your trip to Scotland. 🏴 am up, just south of Aberdeen. Have Royal Enfield 350 Meteor, and a Honda Rebel 500😊
“LBG” life of Birch Garage. Food and fun.
Bikes and bottles.
Motorcycles and meatballs.
Can't wait to speed 100 on the new blue color plastics
i'm betting on Burch!
Thank you!! 😭🙏🏻🙌🏻
Great video ☺️✌️
Dude, Nina is from Scotland. My family is from Fife Scotland. Weems is my last name. Weymss. Truly I wish the best for your trip.
Brah! You are a brave man admitting to the world that you financed a 3k bike (XR150L). WTF ?? You really got away from your previous excellent message to NOT finance. But I understand the temptation and ‘need’ for more-bikes-equals-more-content. Glad that you are course-correcting now. ☮️
Ayy you answered my question!! Thanks buddy. It’s Le Mans Blue 😂 it’s a color of my first BMW
I drive a lot for work, just local trips, but I often just drive in silence. I would do the same on a bike.
"Convenient for you showty love..." 😂 My guy.
If you're going to Scotland, check out Country House Gent.
He is currently riding the Scottish islands.
Awesome scenery!
Yooo my question made it let’s go 😂
Even though I’ve been watching before you had the SCL500, It’s the bike that comes to mind when I think of a Burch video. It’s the Burchiest Bike in my mind if that makes sense.
That’s interesting! To most people I’m the “Rebel Guy”. But I’d agree that the SCL500 is objectively more of a “Burch Bike” than the Rebels are! I just looove the styling of it 😩
What keeps you in Maryland? Job, family? So glad that we escaped Maryland and moved to Florida.
I had an FTR all the glitter wasn't gold for me. Ended up selling it. I have the repair manual for it I would happily donate to life o Burch
Great content and love the answer to what you’d be doing if not creating content 💚
I was super lucky, I got my rebel 1100 with 1500 miles for only 7400$. The deals are hard to find but are definitely worth it
I see those prices everywhere for the 1100.
@@LayneSteighlee Not here in CO or the surrounding states
Dude ftr content would be sick. Ive seen a few used up here in Canada land for a reasonable price!
Birch....you need to find you an open nonbusy back road. Blast some 2000s hip hop and cruise. Going to change your life
I love the story of how you met your girlfriend. Seriously awesome story
Burch talking about dipping in to his savings/rainy day fund, confusing half the American public who have no idea what that is.
Great Video.... gonna start using #mattressoftheday now when I post riding content lol.
Don't think I'm crazy..
But a Indian scout.. 1 of the 5 models would be cool to see you buy and talk about.
29:53 hahaha 😅 if the motorcycle cafe ever happens I know a guy that can run a lean kitchen. (The laughing isn't at you, it's at the mental thought of me working in a café for you, just funny thinking about)
From here forward Nina will be known as shawty luv at every family get together.
“I’m locked in now” 😂
My 2013 dyna and 05 road king were financed.
Burch- have you set up an S Corp to purchase your bikes through? You can avoid some year end taxes
My question would be when are you going to flash the ECU on the rebel 1100 I've heard of some amazing gains but can't find a good video showing the difference
Are you going to find a way to incorporate your TH-cam play button onto the FTR somehow? Custom play button sissy bar?
Nice!
Is the rebel 500 right side saddle bag bracket compatible with the CL500?
Because I can’t find any dimensions information online.
Need more SCL500 content, rides and mods.
What kind of storage do you use? What’s it cost?
When i hear music while riding i ride much more calm and slow
I had a Rebel 300. Great urban bike. But not good for highway or country roads. Because that single cylinder thumper vibrates SO bad. It felt like the bike was going to fly apart because of the vibration. Butt, feet and hands all went numb after high rpm riding. It had to go...
I wish I had that many Harley's!
Definitely agree…Always pay in cash made the mistake of financing motorcycle and screwed me . Paid my last one in cash and will never finance again
Hiw exactly did financing a bike screw you? Serious question
BURCH! Did you see the video Moore Mafia did on the ECU flash on the 1100 !?!?
In response to the last question, why not open your own bike themed B&B?
if you sold three out of your 9 bikes, you can definitely afford another 1100.
What would I need another 1100 for though?? If I sold 3 bikes it would be to get an FTR 😬🤘🏻
The video could have been an hour long?? Just finished watching it and boy i want more.
Thanks dude! I’ve been throwing around the idea of a second channel that’s more long-form and uncut/less editing 🤔
@@LifeOfBurch This is something id consider watching from time to time, i think id be a great idea as a way to dump unedited and/or slightly edited videos for people to watch if they wanted to and hopefully wont take as much time as the videos on the main channel.
You and Nina are SO DAMN CUTE! I absolutely love it!
I noticed what you said about the Honda rebels in the used market and their prices. funny enough I’m actually selling my 500 for 5k lol 700 miles too I like my sportster better tbh
I’m in the northeast area too in nj
You could raffle some of them off..Or give me a older veteran in need of a motorcycle expense..lol
That electric bike is cool
Heya burch, don't know if you remember me (the man from France that want a rebel)
Well let's say a used one is almost 7 grand here, like wtf are in people's brain.
Sadly I can't afford it, and since they don't sell the 300 here in Europe, and I need a bike (I don't drive cars even tho I have the permit)
The rebel plan is on hold 😢
Finance if it won’t hurt you too much!
What place in Scotland ?? I work in Aberdeen , visit Moto store in UK. There is good stuff to buy there.
You and Nina should start a cafe and call it "Racer Cafe"
Obviously a bike theme 😅
I can't stand city or interstate riding. Too much 18 wheeler traffic on the interstate and too much stop and go in town. I ride mostly country roads cause the scenery is nice and light traffic. 😎
I’m here for it if I could subscribe twice I would!
Whatttupp Burch do you have any plans for ocmd bike week 2024 would be down to say what’s up!!
Is this bike better then the SurRon
FTR by Christmas!
A triumph speed 400 or a royal engfield 350 scamblers. Would be cool. Or a bobber..
I.know u have the honda scrambler. I'm bored with hondas.. lol

"We have BxD at home."
The BakerXDerek [of the East Coast] at home:
Literally though 😂😂😂
@23:29 Who's Nina?
Ok i subbed
“If you want to meet people, get an E Bike”
Me, an introvert: makes mental note never to buy an E Bike. Lol
Maybe Nina will want a Busa next???
