- Carol did most of the work converting her 2012 Ford Transit Connect XLT to a camper. She said, “I figured if I could sew, I could cut wood!” And she did a great job. This was her first camping experience and her first women's meetup.

Some of us don't have that option financially, unfortunately. Would love to be able to have a house and travel. Since I don't, I'm choosing the more affordable -- and more fun -- option!
It's just a money pit, not worth keeping if you enjoy traveling more. Sell & put that money away for future needs, let it build interest, there are many retirement home options.
@emart: inflation is devaluing money that was saved up for decades. Some people have not saved that long, but inflation causes lose to everyone.Inflation is worse than taxes.
Love her setup! I will be 79 next month and I go in my 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan. Have a really bad back and I am slow but who cares, I have all the time I need!

I have been dreaming about this for more than three years and still am not on the road. Transportation being the main issue, but I really want to do it. I will be 75 in Aug. my daughter keeps saying Mom you don’t need to be running all over camping you’re too old. I let her know that there are men and women in their 80’s and 90’s out there all ages are out having a good life. Am working on it. Hope to see you all on the road sometime soon.

WOW Carol sure doesn't look 75 I thought she was a bit younger , I am 66 , Just goes to show age is only a number so live life the way you want and have fun as long as your able , Love her build and attitude .what a great set up with everything having its place , I love that water faucet going to have to find me one . fantastic work . What's nice about van life, for women, in particular, you get freedom, from life's responsibilities, you have adventure, you meet people to befriend, you learn, you explore and, in and on. So often, we are told by society, being home, caring for family, is enough. Look at where women are today. We are a source to reckon with. More power to us all.
This video was inspiring. If you are thinking about it, if you have the means to do it, if you have the time to do it then, just do it. What do you have to lose? You can, always, pack it in!

What a great idea with the window screen and the reflectix! I think that's what I'll do when the time comes. I'm having a health issue, but big dreams. Carol is wonderful, creative, gracious. I'm so glad she got to experience her dream. I have an older little dog. I don't think he'd have enough room to roam in the van if we had bad weather. I'd love to meet Carol some day.
