Some of us don't have that option financially, unfortunately. Would love to be able to have a house and travel. Since I don't, I'm choosing the more affordable -- and more fun -- option!
It's just a money pit, not worth keeping if you enjoy traveling more. Sell & put that money away for future needs, let it build interest, there are many retirement home options.

Awesome! I used to do my campervan, but I got sick & can no longer travel. So I’m living my life vicariously through everyone who can keep on keeping on, lol!
The van setup looks great, very organized. I have a house and a camper van. I want to eventually sell my house and build a smaller house just for a home base. Dreams...😉
I have been dreaming about this for more than three years and still am not on the road. Transportation being the main issue, but I really want to do it. I will be 75 in Aug. my daughter keeps saying Mom you don’t need to be running all over camping you’re too old. I let her know that there are men and women in their 80’s and 90’s out there all ages are out having a good life. Am working on it. Hope to see you all on the road sometime soon.

I hope this beautiful woman won't mind if I offer one correction. She said she's "not much of a carpenter". I DISAGREE! Wow what a FANTASTIC job she did with her build! This is INCREDIBLY well done and VERY inspiring. Ma'am, please don't sell yourself short. You're not only a great carpenter but you're also very resourceful and courageous. I may be younger than you are, but you are an absolute inspiration and I'm so grateful that I happened upon this video. Keep on keepin' on! Safe travels!
Ive warched all of your videos & many others. Im in the process of purchasing a vehicle that will allow me to join in on this amazing adventure. My husband of 52 yrs passed this past November, my kids are all grown & live all over the country. Im ready. As soon as my doctor says i can go im gone 🤗♥️

What's nice about van life, for women, in particular, you get freedom, from life's responsibilities, you have adventure, you meet people to befriend, you learn, you explore and, in and on. So often, we are told by society, being home, caring for family, is enough. Look at where women are today. We are a source to reckon with. More power to us all. This video was inspiring. If you are thinking about it, if you have the means to do it, if you have the time to do it then, just do it. What do you have to lose? You can, always, pack it in! Thank you. Watching from, Ontario 🇨🇦
Hi Carol!!! So nice to see you here❤️ I’m the one who stopped by to see your rig and told you about the laundromat 😂 I didn’t recognize you right away but knew your bedding - the sheet embroidered with your mother’s name 🤗 It was a great meetup and I hope I’ll see you again down the road! Mary
Amazing and so creative..realizing her talent for sewing, patterns, and implementing into wood and creating her tiny space is inspiring. THANK YOU for sharing.
You are my type of woman, straight to the point, love you van. You look great full of good energy, i wish you well hope your illnesses get taken care of good luck.
What a sweet and lovely lady. I hope I get to meet her and more like her when I finally do this next year. Nice to know there are such nice groups out there. God bless!!!
Enjoyed the tour, great setup with amazing touches like the window screens! The lined bin for shoes is fantastic, I need to do that, so simple... and cheap!
It's so good to see another convert👍! The experiences all told, seem to match up too. One thing I'll take away from this is that learning how to sew comes in handy😉.
Thanks Jan. Love the ladies in the little cargo minivans. 🎉 I have a PMC, but get lots of ideas also from the Transit Connects, NV200s, & whatever the Mercedes is called. 🙃

@@ButterflyTracks yes. That’s where we first met. I actually did a tiny video there of us. And now in my minivan I have the same problem you had. I can’t get rid of the mice hiding in the engine. At first it went to the headlining and chewed door lock wires. I scared it out of there, but can’t get them out. It’s probably been 3 months. Soon I’ll try to remove my dash compartment filter and look back there.
I got rid of them with a mixture of half and half Jiffy cornbread mix and baking soda (not baking powder). Mix so thuroughly that there are no lumps of Jiffy. Set little containers around. It works. Good luck.
@@ButterflyTracks I tried that c a couple times. No indication it was working. I don’t think they came out of hiding to get it. They probably have a year’s supply of dog food holed up. I even tried hot sauce. Now trying peppermint oil.
I love the slip cover for the mattresses, the softer cot , water faucet, many many smart ideas. The cardboard template is my favorite! Thank you for sharing!
Her van looks pretty cozy. I like the idea of the water container instead of full plumbing. Too many issues with mold that I've seen. Also having a portable battery to charge cell and lights is great. She's got sewing talents!❤

Thank you for sharing your cozy and cute van with us. I'm so impressed with you older ladies willing to get out there and enjoy all aspects of a new adventure. Kudos to you.
Hi Carol! I’m 65, still working, but want to build a van and solo camp when I retire. I’m amazed at how you built your van so perfectly on your own! I’ve decided to get a ford transit connect, too, but I think I’ll get someone else to help me build it.😊
