I live in Kentucky, about an hour from Mammoth Cave. Everyone needs to experience the cave tours. The awesomeness can't be appreciated in words or photos.
Bonus: Did you know that the shortest war in history lasted only 38 minutes? It was between Britain and Zanzibar on August 27, 1896, over a dispute about the succession of the Sultan of Zanzibar.
Of course Kentucky has a bunch of caves. Where do you think we store our bourbon? And moonshine, and the secret blend of 11 herbs and spices? Seriously though, I knew about Mammoth Cave, but not the rest. Thanks Mike!
I'm pretty sure the author of the Earth Childrens series did a research trip and if you read the book 4 of the 6 series its basically a travel across the continent back in the ice age, book 5 has a bit more descriptions on some of the caves but it's really detailed in the 6th and final book( mainly part two here) It's a long series and although it's based in the ice age the author actually went and visited personally to see the caves and details on alot of the art too. I listen to it as my white noise every night so I know the story well and if your interested in learning more about the caves then it's a good series to read and I'm pretty sure it's quite popular as it took several years to release each book. The last book was released several years back and there's now several fan written books based on what happened after but I don't know what research was done there. If anyone is interested the books series is called the Earth Childrens series with the first being clan of the cave bear followed by valley of the horses, the mammoth hunters, plains of passage, shelters of stone and last written by the original author Jean Auel. I've found it to well worth the read, sorry guys for the long comment
@@ladylove8565 If memory serves me correctly, and at my age it may not, Jean Auel's husband was an archaeologist. She made the books around the finds she helped him uncover.
My favorite random fact is that as soon as you get to sit down, book or remote in hand, drink on the table, nicely snuggled into your favorite chair, your bladder says “ Get up and pee, right now.”
Also..if you want the most tender squid you've ever eaten in your life then get a few kiwifruit and scrape the meat out from the skin and mash it in a container...throw your raw squid into the kiwifruit pulp making sure it all gets coated...put into fridge for hour.. pull the squid out of the container and rinse it off in cold freshwater. Pat dry and cook how ever you like..melts In your mouth everytime...the enzymes in the kiwifruit break down the enzymes in the squid flesh making it softer
I lost my partner of 28 years to fatty liver disease. I hope that others that have loved ones suffering with this disease watch this and find hope enough to not accept it as the end. I wish I could have shown this to Troy.
Can confirm the KY caves. My buddy owns a stretch along the red river and there are SEVERAL caves along the bank that go over 30 minutes underground. That’s just how far we decided to go.. I’m 6’4” but my friend is 5’5” so he couldn’t climb the ledges to the next cavern but I did and it kept going and going. One day I want to map the whole thing and see where it comes out. It’s gotta be miles and miles long
I wish I had caves to explore when I was little but the ranch I grew up on was mainly massive field and some forest land but never caves. Funny you mentioned your heights because that's almost exactly what myself and my husband who is 6'6 with me being the 5'5 one lol Please do go explore but don't get lost 😢

@@tiki_trash He actually read an epitaph that said ," A Meal Man", as, "A Mean Man", and thought, how bad does a person have to be for someone to pay for the fact that he was bad to literally be written in stone?
My son uses pineapple juice for marinating quite often. Did you know that after you trim off the pineapples hide, by applying a light coat of salt over your fruit and lightly rubbing it in followed by a good rinse under cold water your pineapple will be less acidic and it won’t burn your mouth and tongue. When we were stationed in Hawaii a friend of mine whose mom worked for Dole gave me that tip when I complained about my mouth being so sore. It works great. Also, I dip bananas in pineapple juice to keep them from browning. Don’t care for the taste of lemon on my bananas. Don’t leave them in the juice too long or it will start breaking down the banana.
There’s a nuclear bomb that was dropped near Tybee island Ga in the ocean; during a training mission on February 5th 1958, A B47 bomber and a F86, fighter jet! the F86 didn’t see the B47 on radar and clipped the wing of the B47. The B47 had to drop the 7,600 pound Mark 15 Hydrogen Thermonuclear bomb into the ocean. The hydrogen thermonuclear bomb was 190x times more powerful then the FATMAN bomb dropped on Nagasaki! The bomb hasn’t been found to this day! They haven’t given up, there are civilian’s looking for it to, but I think it’s more the Government in Washington saying it hasn’t gone off in 66 years it’s not going off or dangerous!!!!!!!!!!!! But you know the bomb is deteriorating!!!! Look it up I’d love for you to do something on it!!!!!
Mike, did you mean 2 million when you said 2,000 years? Last I heard, that was when our very distant ancestors looked that way, according to paleontologists... Two thousand years ago was the first century AD, when the Romans had control of the vast majority of Europe, Northern Africa, and the Middle East... 😅

There was also a war over a bucket & one over a pig
Kinda just a riot then😂😂
Look up Battle of San Jacinto that took place between Mexico and the US. It lasted 18 minutes.
Have you verified this?
Omg, 😅 you scared me for a minute there. The video started and I was like, who the heck is that? That's not Mike from list 25.

Knowing that lobsters pee out of the face makes me feel better eating the other end.
Fact 23’s title card is incorrect! 23 was about Kentucky but still has the writing about Iceland growing.

A lobster head’s weight depends on whether it needs to pee. 🤔

Because a snowshoe hare eats meat, that would make it an omnivore.
Make sure you have the ground surveyed for caves before you build anything in Kentucky. You could have a repeat of the Corvette Museum collapse.
