Half way through the process of putting mine back together, big spring is no where to be found and missing 1 bullbearing, have taken out the ignition barrel and now it won’t go back in but it’s all ready to go 🙈
Man...how hard is it to remove push those hoising pins out and then get them back in again. If i had've known this first i wouldnt have attempted it lol
My 07 terri sy wouldnt crank when in town (ing lights on) Swapped fuses relays and found bridging start relay would crank and run. Drove home and found wiggling key in start would start it, but then key lost detents an a ball bearing fell on my foot.... looks like will have to rebuild as per this video. One other fault before total fail was fan aircon stopped working and radio turned off but I could turn on. Thanks for this video, quicker than opening workshop manual.
Great video young fella! Could you recomend anyone in Darwin to do this job for me? The copper plate and stuff just fell on the floor of my ute. Cheers
Just did mine, in all of about 30 minutes. The removal tool is an engineering masterpiece, unlike Ford and Bosch's disgusting engineering of this switch. Definitely be sure to have nice long pin punches on hand, otherwise it will be a painful task. The rest is easy if you follow the instructions closely and take your time with it. Screw Ford for poor quality components. Makes me glad they shut down the Adelaide factory.
What a stuff up Ford made to make what should be a simple job hard for the home mrchanic...give me an old falcon any day...taking out the barrel from the dash is a 5 minute job..BA and BF Falcons are such shitboxes ill never buy another one !!!
This is not the same tool i recieved nor did the insttuctions match the tool i recieved & as theres not a sufficent flat spot on the coated alloy housing whos the genius that forgot this shit slides every fkn where
That is an excellent instruction video as well as visuals of the procedure. We were successful due to this video
How did you remove that cup that's pressed in?
@bigfella6629 you gotta use the special tool in the video
Done it! Took just over an hour. Quite a fiddly job. So glad it's done.
True to my usual form, a simple repair became a hassle when I lost one of the ball bearings.

How did you remove that cup that's pressed in?
@bigfella6629 ummm it was a while ago. From memory there was a rolled press pin (or 2?) that need to be punched out.
Great video! Thanks for sharing! Any links where to find the switch extractor and the new switch parts? Thank you!!!
Just wondering where you can get the new housing from. I'm in nsw, thanks
Ebay has them for around $35.
