@@LyssaWithAnE The Shadow is nice. I've had to work on it some to get it to run properly being how it sat over 2 years before me purchasing it. Being from WI, it is now tucked away for the cold, long winter.
My oh my, how the Died has changed!! I was there in 2002 when we were living in tents at “Camp Andy” and pretty much the whole base was a tent city. I was back in 2004 and we were still in tents, but the camp was being moved over to where it is now. I was actually part of the Services crew that initially set up the bar. The last time I was there in 2008 we were in trailers and the Cadillacs were all concrete. The bar had been completely re-done and the BPC was just beginning construction. Very cool to see how it has evolved to what it is now. Thanks for what you Airmen are doing, keep kicking ass!!JMK-USAF MSgt, Ret (2018)

I believe it! I can’t wait to see what it’s like in 5years from now. There’s rumors saying Al Udeid would be a place of a short PCS like Korea instead of a deployment😳
I've been in a few army barracks and I gotta say that they have a similar set up inside the rooms but don't look near as nice. Although I knew they were providing comforts for you all over there its nice to see how well they are taking care of you all.
Some actually stay in the BPC dorm set up! But some also stay in another type of dorm, which I didn’t have the chance to video while there… Essentially, it’s a concrete building like the double stacks CC dorms, but one floor instead of two, and it has a bit more room than the double stacks rooms, with room for a roommate,. Wall lockers instead of actual closets, and it’s own AC per room. I hope this helped!

You’re welcome! I’d say it depends on your rank and squadron. My buddy that just got here is moving directly into those brand new dorms, but it took everyone a while to get home to even get into the double stack dorms… So it all depends honestly
@@ar.k854 give me a day and I’ll be uploading a video of the trailers! You possibly have the chance of moving straight into the double stacks or the BPC, depending on availability. But if not, you’ll have to spend a few days in the trailers like some of us had. We stayed in there for about 2 weeks before getting a double stacks room😭 BUT we had some inbounds for this rotation and they were able to get a room in the double stacks and BPC lodging the same night so it all depends!
Prior military and current DoD employee here, random question… do you know if they have lodging for leisure? World Cup is coming up and I can’t find a thing that’s reasonably priced. Any advice would be much appreciated!
That’s a good question… It’s mainly up to your squadron, but these dorms are mainly for higher ups. I know there’s a lot of crew chiefs in the double stacks which is the other video of the dorm room tour I have up
They just opened it up. It was still in the process of being looked over(final inspections) before letting people move in. Does that answer your question?😂
@@LyssaWithAnE Is that a brand new BPC facility?! I haven't been to the deid since 2016, I lived in the CC trailers, which I believe the one I lived in is tore down now and the double stacks were awaiting final inspection. lol
Oh man, so much has changed over the years! But yes, this is the new BPC facilities that are being opened now. There’s still some trailers that they have people staying in, but essentially, those will all be gone soon and the DS should be for transient!

I was there in 2002 also. How did you deploy to Deid so many times ? I think I would prefer the tents vs a roommate

What ranks do they give priority putting in these dorms first? Is this for enlisted only?

I don’t think it’s possible at this location/base. But I know some contractors in Kuwait are allowed to!
