RED SEA REEFER 350 REEF AQUARIUM TANK UPDATE | NOOPSYCHE K7 V3 PROGRESS

- Whats up guys just wanted to do to update everyone on all of my reef tanks and how the tank is doing after 1 month of having the K7 V3s on the tank. Anemones loving the spectrum and lighting as far as I can tell. Everything is gaining more color and growth.
For this video, I am replacing my 3 AI Primes for 2 Noopsyche K7 V3s. Right off the bat I notice the shimmer and everything looking super crisp under the new lights. When I took down the AI primes I noticed my lens burnt out for the blue and UV diode. I believe this affected my light spectrum and light intensity.
With the new lights on. Everything just looks crisp and very clear to me now. Also loving the shimmer.

I've had 5 of 5 lens burn out with AI Prime 16 (burning holes thru the plastic). Fire 🔥 hazard? You're tank looks great!! Glad you found a nice replacement.
yea fire hazard was on my mind too. to of the lease had a hole burned straight through
wow, looking great , informative update. One love from Jamaica brotha
Thank you for the recommendation, might jump on these lights
Just had one of my primes burn out in the royal blue channel and another one in which the fan makes a crazy noise ultimately causing the light to power off (I assume due to overheating). The light has no dust build up as I cleaned them regularly. However, within a few min the light powers back on and as soon as the fan is suppose to kick back on it starts the exact same cycle (fan noise, power cycle, power back on) I would have to agree with you when you say you don’t recommend these lights.
are you running the AB plus spectrum ?
@@prolificbreedaquatics no sir, I run a personalize mix but it’s on the heavy blue side for sure.
Hugh maaateeee - things are looking epic. That nem looks fine to me. I love the neon green and then the normal (pinkish) leathers next to eat other in the 350.
It is getting expensive - I mean it always was but it's just gone insane. I would say the deep violet lenses would have burnt out and I don't think they matter very much - like I can't see that making your tank go down too much. They should definitely replace the lenses.
If I upgrade next year I get a cheap custom tank and probably not low iron glass - that should cost with the stand etc about half the price of the equivalent Red Sea Reefer. I'm then going to go with a Giesemann Stellar to mount it simply and then I have a XR15 G4 Pro I got second hand (if it works as there was an issue with the power supply) and a G5 Pro I won. If the G4 doesn't work I will probably get 2 of those Nooppsyches or something (depending on what is cheap over here) and I already have 2 Herifi custom bars I mostly love. I really feel for acros the future is T5's strangely enough because the prices on the good LEDs are ridiculous and I think cheaper lights are not diffused enough for acros on the warmer end of the spectrum and you need that (I will run a 6500k, a true actinic and at least 1 blue plus - maybe with a 14000k or something - I really feel like 4 hours with warmer whites will make a huge difference and I think you can burn your corals with LEDs with anything other than 400-500 if you use too much of it).
The other thing is I think these days we are being made to feel like we need a controller, and automatic kH tester (I just gave my GHL back), DC skimmers, regular ICP testing and high end supplements just to keep corals. On top of that LEDs are so expensive and after 5 years you need new ones anyhow - when you realise that and think back to halides and T5s where are you saving money? on cooling?
Maybe I am just not rich enough for this hobby but I feel like Kalk, T5 hybrid with budget LEDs and some cheap wavemakers plus a solid skimmer is where we are going - the future is the past.
you don’t like the GHL? I was looking at that the other day but no thanks to 1000 dollar price tag
Hello, congratulations on your aquarium, I'm your fan. I wanted to ask for some help, I bought a K7 V3 and I'm having a lot of difficulty configuring the channels, could you share your configurations?
Hi Diego, I just set the settings to LPS and have not adjusted settings at all since initial setup
WOW! We have so much in common! I have been watching a lot of your video's! I have the same lights but pro11 and the same 20 l frag tank and the same 3 tierd frag rack! I cant seem to get Coraline to cover my racks in one of my tanks. I keep wiping down the red diatoms or whatever it is and in one tank coraline took over and its gone and corals are fine. the one that wont grow coraline the zoas on the racks keep dying! IT only bothers them and grows on them and smothers them out! I think its from the LPS mode maybe! How long do you run LPS mode? Manufacturer finally sent me the settings of what lps is and its supposed to run 15 hours at low settings! It is 9am 0 10 10 10 2 0 10 am 1 30 30 30 5 2 11 am to 6 pm is the highest at 3 60 60 60 8 0 7 pm 1 50 50 5 0 7 pm until midnight 0 50 50 5 0. Does the v3 seem to follow that schedule? Do yours shut of looking very white? Maybe because of high blues! Does this setting cause you to grow diatoms on the racks? do yu have any idea the settings of lps on the V3. I am asking all these questions because I am not happy with the lps mode and want to go back to my original settings. I only set lps because I lost the program and lost the numbers! I was very sick and on the way to hospital so had to do something! Lost a lot of corals afterwards! What were your setting like when you had prime? Did everything go ok when you switched lights? I have a huge order coming in and so scared to change back. I was running 12 hours and highest setting was 12 72 72 72 0. I did a par test and at 12 dept during the highest setting on LPs mode it was around 130 I keep going back and forth if I should keep the setting or go back! I hate it not going off in low blues to see the corals florescent colors> very scarry since it was a 15 hour but In fact It was only running 14 in my tank! Plus last change killed most my corals and to much to risk! UGGHH I dont want to loose my corals! Any suggestions? Love your channel!
Do you still have the NOOPSYCHE K7 V3? How was this time with them? I'm buying one for my first 33 gallon reef. I don't find much information about their quality. Cheers from Brazil.
I still have them and they are still running. I highly recommend
Do you think one of these light fixtures would provide sufficient coverage for 36x12x21 aquarium?
I think it should be enough. but it really depends on which corals are in the tank
@@prolificbreedaquatics I have some LPS and a couple of softies.

How do you think two of the noopsyche k7 minis would do on the red sea reefer 250 ? 36x20x21in (LxWxH). Bought the mini thinking i was setting up a small cube and decided to go bigger
iam not sure on the minis are they single pucks ? what would you be keeping in the tank?
@@prolificbreedaquatics single 65w pucks. I am thinking about dropping two into an aquatic life led/t5 hybrid 36in with a coral plus, actinic, and two blue plus. Mixed reef
Would 1 be enough for 24x24x16?
should be ok my tank is 4 feet long
I have the 26hd haven't had that yet.
just keep an eye on it. I was running the AB+ spectrum which drove some of the channels over 100%
also recommend buying the spare pucks just in case. before it’s discontinued or they jack up the prices
Should never run electronics at 100% especially over
How would I get replacement parts for that Chinese light you recommend?
