Yay! I'm so glad. I like the way this looks much better. Chrissie (YTber) says the more you embrace your blackness, the more you start doing away with things take away from it so the blond silky wavy hair, no. I've been doing this for a while and I kind of hope that in 2023 there will be a wave of black influencers doing the same
Everything you said is 5000% FACTS! I turned 24 this year and every wig I’ve worn since high school has been a silky bodywave, straight, or loose curl pattern because Black hair and Black beauty has always been treated as not beautiful. It’s 2022 and it’s time we’re honest about America’s standard of beauty being propagated by racism and colonialism. Because of mainstream media, images, and messages whiteness has been the definition of “beautiful” and I think that’s why silky hair has Black women in such a chokehold. I recently tried my first kinky straight wig and my life has changed. Like you said it looks 1000% better and it holds curls so much better because of the texture. Once a company comes out that solely releases Kinky straight/curly wigs, especially with color and highlights for Black women the game will be changed. They’re getting all my coins!
Omg when I was writing out what I wanted to say I talked about how much I was wearing other textures since high school as well. Basically everything you said I had written down lol 😭 but yes I agree if a company solely sold wigs like that it would be amazing especially if it was black owned!
Salute! I’m 39 I’ve worn wigs at least 20 years and I’ve been feeling the same way for about 3 years now. I’m revamping my wig collection to include ONLY texture. Bravo for coming to this conclusion so young. Powerful articulation.
I love everything you said about embracing the kinky textures!! I came to a similar conclusion earlier in the year, I'm literally on a YT binge searching for videos with afro-textured wigs as I'm looking to switch up for the winter and this video was one of the recommendations. This wig is GORGEOUS and so are you.
I'm a woman of a certain age. The Natural Hair Movement reignited itself about 15yrs ago. I'm 43 now. I've been chemical free for about 16yrs. I'm happy to see OPTIONS of us to have a protective style that STILL looks like US. I ordered this wig after seeing it on IG w/another influencer. I got a GOOD deal. But I look at the reviews from non-sponsored YTers. Good video and I'm happy you young ladies are embracing our hair & hair texture. Let this be the 2nd wave of the Natural Hair Movement. You look beautiful.
Yes that is goals!!!! Thanks for sharing, I’m now just starting to be serious with taking care of my hair underneath protective styling. But bank you so much 🖤
1000% facts I’m. Your in your early 20’s and you’ve come to this realization and I’m in my mid 40’s and I got to wear your at about 10 years ago but also I have two girls that look up to me. I had had to make a change when my 8 year question why I wore hair that did not mimic my own. That’s when I woke up. So I’m proud of you and we are all working progress.❤
Omg yes! I love that you made the change for your child’s benefit 😭 that’s lovely!! & yes I agree, as long as we are growing and evolving for the better 🖤

Where would we be without leaders😉 they’ll catch up sooner or later. LOL… our people need to wake up and STAY WOKE !!! My advice to mine : Always wear your crown never be a clown …followers fall down…
Thank you so much for responding. I have purchased My Given Hair before, (Last March) and it was awesome at first but it started to shed so badly. I don't know if the vendors get the best units, but I spent so much money and was truly disappointed. So it would be awesome if you can follow up perhaps after one month & then 3 mths and so forth, because it was pretty bad shedding. Thank you so much! 😁😁
I’ll definitely do that, I’m about to post my first impression today but I’ll make sure to update you all three months after to see how it’s held up! So thanks for letting me know!!
Absolutely beautiful! I agree with everything you said! I too, primarily purchase Kinky or Yaki, and I can’t with the baby hairs!! We’ve got to move away from baby hairs as grown women if a professional look is desired. I have purchased a couple HairVIVI wigs, but the texture is a turnoff for me. I love their lace, however. I look forward to more of your videos! Great job!🎉
I've always worn kinky straight wigs. I have alopecia and I prefer wearing hair that looks like mine. I just feel like if I'm going to wear a wig I'm going to make sure it looks like my natural hair.. if I had any. Whether I color it or cut it its kinky straight. No other texture aside from kinky curly. Now that they're making wigs that actually mimics our hair including the hair line I'm even more in love with this texture. You did amazing you look absolutely beautiful.
Wow, you are gorgeous and the wig is beautiful on you. People do need to mind their own business. I been saying for a long time that I wish the baby hair on wigs was curly, wavy or something cuz when I try to lay them sometimes they just stick up straight, it would be so much easier to work with but this is really is a game changer for 4C hair... beautiful
For someone that is nearly 24 yrs old you have hit the nail in the head so to speak! You are the most intellectual young person who actually has some sense. I have NEVER been interested in blond, silky wigs especially wigs pass the center of my back. I have 4C hair and it’s so difficult for me to style my hair in the mornings and head out the door to work. I represent a black woman with natural kinky hair, but I find that not all black Woman like to see it and they sometimes look the other way! Lol😅 but it’s all about representation, I’m sick to death when other cultures disrespect our natural hair as if it’s disgusting! God made me in his image and I’m soooo proud to be who I am and rock my natural wigs! I just wish they were more wig sites with good quality natural wigs! So my dear sister keep on been authentic I love it!! 😊❤
OMG, thank you so much for your kind words it means so much to me. I’m definitely not where I aspire to be with this journey but by the grace of God I’ll get there! I agree that more of us should publicly represent our natural hair and our natural protective styles. We weren’t made to align with European beauty standards and that’s perfectly okay! Her Given Hair is collaborating with me soon so I’ll be posting a very natural kinky curly wig with the natural edges on my channel so I can’t wait to give you all more information about that! Thank you for watching 🥺🖤
❤ Yes sis! Loved the message and love the hair!❤ I received my kinky Yaki wig in this week, but still rocking my twists for another week. You’ve got me super excited 😊
You totally made sense I absolutely cannot wear a silky loose wig, I have enjoying better length clips in the kinky coarse texture and I just love that people think its my hair!❤
I'm so over it too thank you so much for sharing. I'm trying to embrace my natural hair more and I don't want to wear wigs that don't look like my hair anymore. Why must I slick my edges? Who said I have to wear this texture?? I can't wait until they make even better and cheaper wigs that look like black hair.
Wow that's awesome and amazing 😍😍 yes sssss just fabulous... you did amazing,. Job sis, it looks great on you., I would do that same thing.. you killed it thro I'm so living the way you think. awesome... keep your head up and stay strong and Fab.well done sis..🔥🔥🍵🍵🇬🇧🙏🏾🇬🇧🇬🇧💯🖤
I hear you and i agree!-FIRST of all, Kings and Queens and Pharaoh's wore wigs, secondly, its convenient to wear wigs if you want to protect and grow out your real hair and switch up your look , and society (mostly) is not supportive of black women wearing their natural in most work places, I once had one black woman who was very afro centric and had short very kinky hair with very short dreadlocks who "hinted" at me that i shouldnt wear wigs, then i tried to wear my hair natural and had a women who was mixed tell me that to wear your natural hair makes you look like a "amazon woman", ive also had white women ask BOLDLY: "is that your real hair????....NOW that im older, im like f****i it because when it comes to black women and our hair, we cant win , and the black men (WHO probably CANT get a woman regardless of what she looks like or how she wears her hair ALWAYS has the most to say about a black woman wearing a wig) are very ignorant, a man who is secure about who he is will love you no matter how you wear your hair. If you want to be bald, if you want blue har, if you want braids, if you want to wear your hair down to the ground, DO YOU!!!!, Black women NEED to be confident in themselves to not be apologetic when it comes to their hair, i am so sick of people acting like your hair is growing out of THEIR heads,,,BE confident and DO YOU dont let no one make you feel bad about what you do with your body and hair!😊
We look better with extensions/wigs that mimic our hair! I stopped wearing silky extensions years ago. I’m going through postpartum hair loss now I had my daughter back in July and I’ve been wearing kinky straight wigs and kinky curly
When I discovered hair extensions, wigs, and weaves, I was about to purchase silky straight texture, and then I discovered kinky straight, I just fell in love with the texture that mimics afro texture and then, I purchase 3 wigs, freaking loved it so bomb, but nowadays, I've been questioning myself about representing the true me with hair extensions that mimics my own texture: the kinky one and I feel like even kinky straight is not really like mine, it looks like a curly hair that have been permed and I'd like to show the beauty of my hair but sometimes longer, so why not try afro kinky coily texture? So then I can blow out, do twist out, wash n gos, wand curl it, and just like you said to remind me that my texture is beautiful and I should wear it more often as a representation not only for me but also my friends and my family, so yeah I totally agree with your thoughts, looks good on you btw 👍🏾🫶🏾
I personally didn’t like it. Each time I’ve used it, it always left a white cast.. Idk if I’m applying it wrong, I do what the directions say so lol…I wouldn’t recommend
Bam!!! when it comes to hair, black people's hair has become political! it is stressful! white people wear wigs! the difference is that since the beginning of time, their wigs matches their natural texture!!! and no one gives them hell for it! wigs like this looks, feels and act like our hair! we should be free to wear what we want but at least it should look like ours! I agree with everything you have said. In some religions, like some orthodox Jewish, women are even required to wear wigs in public and only show their natural hair to their husbands! But God forbid a black woman wears a wig. What I didn't like is that they still made wigs for white people and black women are running around with wigs made for white people!!! Is this 150% density or 180% density. Also, what is your length of the wig. I hope you can respond back to me. I would love to purchase this same exact wig you are wearing!
Awww I’m so glad to hear that 🥺 I got this wig in 180% density and 20inches! I also got a medium size cap! I got 180% because I like to keep my wigs for a longer time period and I know wigs come with shedding. This wig does shed overtime but it’s still full as of right now and I still wear it consistently. Let know if you have any questions though. I hope you like the wig!!! 🫶🏿
