    i'm still pondering this all in my head as to whether to use a cable with 2 large conductors and a couple of small ones and installing a control board on board or going with multiple wire cables to directly drive it. both ways have their advantages and disadvantages.

      richard cranium I hear you! There are wonderful alternatives to my system; even using a Vellman K8023 10 Channel 2 Wire Remote Control... that is the sweetest choice!
      However demanding a lot of on-board electronic and on-board power supply.
      Neither would have been feasible on my small ROV.
      So, due to the lack of space and the urge to keep it as simple as possible, I went with this simplest and boldest of choice. 😃
      Please keep me updated!!

    Hi thanks for your Vidio, I'm about to have a go at building one of these and am thankfull for the time and research you've put into this project.
    I was thinking down the line of the batterys being in the ROV and cat 6 cable as a controler. One pair for an emergency blow off valve. I'll see what I come up with. Looking forward to your next Vidios.

    Thanks for the amazing videos, I am also building my own version of an rov and it is really great to not have to come up with everything on my own. Thank you for your input!
    In addition... Verrückt, ist das nicht der Bullensee? xD

      Sure thing. 😃
      Und ja, das war tatsächlich der Bullensee… 😊

    What if you attach the floating material as 1 long tube along the length of the tether cable and glue it. If you use poly foam, kind used for pool toys, can get wet. Just lay the long pool noodle down and cut thin and long strips off to glue to the tether?

      The idea is good, but that would be way too buoyant. However there are companies that design neutrally buoyant cables, but they are really expensive…

    Thanks for the video! Good Job!
    One question: What is the weight of the Rov in total on land? and in water?
    Thanks!

    • @agermangineer
      @agermangineer  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, sorry for the delayed reply. The ROV weighs 2.9 kg - without the tether. It is slightly positively buoyant in water... but almost neutral. Same thing goes for the tether.

    Good day, Are you using relays or just dpdt switches? What cameras are you using to steer? I saw a 4K camera and a bore scope? So how do you get live feed? Bore scope??? Thank you for the videos. Great aid for any novice.

    • @agermangineer
      @agermangineer  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, I’m using:
      relays to steer (see controller and wiring videos);
      An Eken 4K Video for recording, and
      An Eyoyo fishing cam with portable monitor for live feed.

    Are there actual plans available for this as a diy project ??

    • @agermangineer
      @agermangineer  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, for starters you can got to www.Seaperch.org for the initial design. That’s what I used for the first version, with a few alterations.

    Are you using relays on the rov?

    • @agermangineer
      @agermangineer  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not on the ROV; each engine has its own power line.

      @@agermangineer do you have a email I can get more info? Wanting to built the same thing but having issues understanding the wiring

    • @agermangineer
      @agermangineer  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@blackwaterdivingcompany7594 well, basically everything I do know about the wiring is presented in my videos and also referred to www.homebuiltrovs.com. The relay wiring is brutal, but the only way to go. And with trial and error manageable.
      I chose not to share any further contact information, due to some... weirdness in the past. Sorry.
      But please, don’t hesitate to ask about whatever you need. I’m glad, when I can be of assistance! Just take it step by step and you’ll get through it.

    • @agermangineer
      @agermangineer  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      On the other hand... that would make one heck of a good new video... In my ROV controller video I just referenced the wiring because explaining it would be a daunting task... but as a separate video...?! Quite a challenge though...

      @@agermangineer I see the seaperch doesnt use relays, I had seen one video where you had went to a bigger 6 strand cable. I guess using the cat 5 cable that's just activating the relays and having only 2 12g wires for power and ground. What size pvc did you use for the body and buoyancy floats?
