Nice! The bandsaw is such a joy to use. No kickbacks. No dust in the face. So versatile. I use playing cards all the time for adjusting stop blocks yet I never thought to use them for setting blade kerf on the bandsaw.
That's gotta be worth at least 3 gray beard hairs of wisdom.

This was an expensive video for me to watch William. I used to cut these on the bandsaw and it's always been my preferred way, but it seems my bandsaw has become a dedicated resaw machine. There are so many things I'd prefer to do on my bandsaw but it never seems to be worth changing the blade. You've convinced me that I need to just buy another bandsaw...

It occurs to me that you don't have to unlock your stop (and potentially lose it's position) if you do it in reverse order. It's fine if your stop is a couple cards away from the fence for the rest of the procedure. You just need a test cut on any board to figure out the fit for your cards first.

  • @egbluesuede1220

Really simple. I suppose once you know the thickness of your blade and have that really dialed in, you can use the spacer over and over again. In fact, I have a damaged blade that I could cut into a short section to use as my spacer. That would be exactly the same thickness.
