I have a friend who was a Lux main, almost OTP, in League and would only play either mid or support (enchantresses). Here in Eternal Return, said friend mains Darko, Kenneth, and Garnet.
Ironically, I feel the opposite about combat pacing. I think it's primarily due to the fact that every character in ER has much more complexity and intricacies than their LoL counterparts. With most characters having mobility, you have less time to react to someone mispositioning. Even though there is always that bit of a teamfight dance, engages have to be much more solid and quicker than in LoL (even if overall damage is lower). I also find that the character design makes ER much more mechanical than league, allowing most characters/team comps to be viable and fun in most lobbies.
@@dedreduxx And that's okay! 💙 Every decision in ER definitely carries a heavier weight--one bad move and you can be out of the game, so you have to really think ahead.
@@grubbiez yea ive played league since its release with some down time in the middle but quit a few months ago, and then joined ER and that part sounded really weird to me unless you play super squishy characters vs assassins with poor positioning/support. ER and league are extremely similar combat-wise and both are just as bursty
@@vzreo I disagree but that's okay. :) I think the meta being dive right now definitely feels that way, but patience goes a longer way in ER than League IMO.

League is much easier to understand but you can also get trapped into never improving whereas ER will continue to beat you down until you do learn. It was pretty tough to get into but I prefer it more overall. ER as a game is much faster paced but the pvp feels practically the same. Actually scratch all that the biggest change is that the community isn't a health violation in ER.

Please rescue me from league. I have so much fun playing ER. I feel i have more agency in a match of ER and the match ends way quicker too. I just don't know how to "git gud" at the game. I thought it was about finishing your build first and farming neutral creeps until you find an enemy but most times, the enemy is just as strong as me if not stronger. Really hoping i hear something new here because the disclaimer is making me think i might missed something (which is great because i can finally correct the way i think about the game) Edit: The bit about teamfights being slower is something i wasn't thinking about. Diferences? It is just a completly different genre xD The controls are the only thing that are identical xD I Play League for 13 years now and played ER for a few days. And I can 100% say it is nothing like league. i mean, it is a battle royal. That you have a RTS control is the only identical thing... OK, this and the Health bars xD
A lot of people compare it to League due to just how many MOBA elements are incorporated into ER. A common joke I see fresh ER players jumping from League say that we're all just junglers now.

In all seriousness, I've managed to get a few friends hooked onto the game (One of them already bought and leveled the current battle pass to 80), this game is infinitely more accessible and enjoyable with friends. Hope to see more people pick up this game, I've long since abandoned any other MOBA since this scratches that itch anyway.

If you're a new player they put you in bot games to help you get started! If you are past level 20 you start playing against people. We have had a boom of new players in the last six months, so not dead, I promise you! 💙

Instead of saying reasons why you could like the game e.g. if you like that aspect of league, here's how it's realised in ER, the author just spams dumb stuff like "you can get bursted in lol, here you can sPaM sKiLlS" , she says that here we have a ward you can place in bushes from far away from vision. "If you die from enemy team hiding in bushes in ER you know it's your fault and in league it gives unfair advantage" is the most biased shit I've ever heard. 2 absolutely same situations, different conclusions. This video just shocked me, saw vid, thought maybe I should try that game, but author just killed any interest I could ever have with this video
I'm sorry that is the case. 😭 I am an Eternal Return channel so I am a little biased, and I don't have shame about that. Bushes in League in the past like five years have gotten ridiculous, so that's why I used it as an example. I'm sorry you weren't a fan, but please don't let my spin on it ruin it! I love ER and I only do this to help promote and improve the player base, not to sit here and shit on other games. 💙
What about characters and their personality? League has jinx and that's very unfortunate because riot seems to be malicious with their lore and how they handle their characters.

The storyline of ER is pretty bleak, you play as Test Subjects that are subjected to killing each other for research purposes and then they get their memory wiped to do it over again. Personality-wise? Everyone is pretty happy go lucky, except maybe a few? Jackie is a serial killer so she's pretty dark haha.
@@grubbiez Thank you for the reply. Mostly just referring to how riot don't want to commit to their lore and retcon lore almost weekly at times. Changing characters backstories, personalities, even their entire aesthetic. I found a game called AFK Journey which has a character Nara that is very close to jinx and unlike Riot with Arcane they stick close to who the character is and show the character doing what she would normally do. I tend to want to jump into the lore if I like the game is what I mean, and riots constant changes are just frustrating, if the game has nice consistent lore then I would like to try it out. Thank you very much for the answer however.
@@ghost7685 The lore is consistent but since the game itself has gone through a big transitional period as far as I know they are trying to establish concrete lore. The game started as a mobile game, and then it swapped from solos to duos, and now it's squads--there is some sprinkling of lore in the challenges and if you want more look up Project Lumia, that can give you more info too! Unfortunately hard to nail down lore right now, but if you like looking for it you will find it!

Would highly recommend to check out some of Grubz's beginner guides, should be a good start to building the fundamentals.
Endgame builds and traps are the key to winning. At least when playing solo.

You don't need to be! I actually don't enjoy the Battle Royale genre very much but I love ER! It feels much more like a MOBA than anything else!

You can't be held hostage for 30+ minute games. That alone is the biggest boon for ER

I tried ER as a League player, wasn't for me. MOBA just hits better than League of Fortnite.
Does Eternal Return have a super invasive anti-cheat like League or is it a normal game I can play without opening up a potential vulnerability on PC?
