We need another album with new cacophony songs!!! Marty get real, go to Jason's house with Jeff Loomis, work the new cacophony record, Make a tour with Jeff covering for Jason( we all know he can), play your old stuff and Jeff can play Jason's tunes from perpetual burn as well and some of the profit goes to Jason as well!. MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!!

ESPSJ I know he is his own guitarist and I love Jeff. Its just that I know he loves and admires Jason and his work and also he is the only one capable to fulfil his shoes and honour him. And imagine if in this Cacophony tour we had the cacophony songs, Marty's originals and jason's and Jeff's originals cover by Jeff!!!!!! I would pay huge to see that!!!!

Jason is today's Beethoven. That he can still compose music this sophisticated, tasteful and altogether utterly stunning, is amazing. One of the most amazing men of our lifetime.

It's amazing how Jason Becker can still write intricate and well crafted songs despite being fully paralyzed by ALS, aka Lou Gehrig's disease. And that he managed to live past the five year prediction (it's been almost thirty year's since he was diagnosed). This song, among others, is proof that debilitation and disease can't stop you from doing what you love.

Science needs to get its ass in gear & put Jason's brain in a new body.. it's far too damn tragic that we can't hear those sweet tones flow from his own hands! I'm obviously being over the top with my comment, but damn.. the thought of one of the GOAT 'trapped' within himself brings tears to my eyes. I can only imagine how he's managed to keep it together at all, let alone for this long. Still, awesome he's writing & has a creative outlet, but only.. if only..

Just to clear things here.. Jason composed all acoustic parts. Everything else was made and arranged by Marty.. Not fair many comments... Marty is not an step below Jason.. By far Cacophony was the complete Friedman style of music. Many parts of cacophony music was composed years early by Marty Friedman.. Listen to Hawaii band.. Many phrases are there.

You can actually hear whammy bar on some licks, and Marty never tends to use a whammy. And secondly, Marty himself said clearly that there were a lot of changes on Speed Metal Symphony album due that Jason came out with even better ideas than him. Making a combination of both styles. That's how Cacophony was borned in words of Friedman himself :)
And to end my point, on his website he has already told that not only acoustic parts were made by him.
marty is so open minded. Love how hes mixed a bunch of different influences on this whole album. A collaboration with Misha Mansoor should happen! Hes worked with Keshav Dhar so many times, but I think Misha's poppy metal style would be cool to mix with marty's poppy metal style. lol Hell marty + tosin collab would be amazing too.

So much reminiscent of Cacophony! For people who still don't know about Cacophony yet, any great metal/rock band you can name, I've listened to them all, and believe me when I say this, nobody has made me feel enchanted like Cacophony did when I listened to them for the first time when I was 14, nobody ever will. I'm 25 now, and still Cacophony makes me feel exactly the same.
Its one of the biggest injustice of life that Jason never got to play guitar after only 19. There will never be another combo like Marty-Jason. They were so out of this world and ahead of their time!

This is one of the best albums of 2014, Marty Friedman is one of the greatest players ever so is Jason Becker and despite his illness he is still one of the best modern composers. These are two musicians who I will respect to my grave

i didnt know from the preview of the album if i was gonna like the album but i bought it and i ve heard it already about 6 time the whole thing! the album is just brilliant..... tired of hearing the same old shit from guitarists and bands in general, Marty is a genius....... i used to think Satriani and Vai are the best but Marty is the greatest guitarist for me end of story this guy sounds like hes got an extra 7 notes of anyone else lol and the song is just a modern song of cacophony just brilliant...........

Does Marty have any songs on this album that is played 100 mph and sounds like a 80's video game? I guess that's why there is no Ewan Dobson contribution. Don't get me wrong ....Ewan is a mighty artist but I can't listen to him for more then a few minutes. Tried falling asleep once with him playing...woke in the middle of the night and couldn't hit the stop button fast enough.
SuperPsychoterror you misunderstand. Ewan plays in this song, but doesn't get the credit he deserves from the public. Marty certainly thinks very highly of him.
he only performed what was written for him, he did an amazing job of course but he doesn't get any songwriting credit for session work.

Mrinal Pramod John petrucci is great, but Jason becker is just amazing.
Being a biiig becker fan i have to disagree cos Petrucci is just better.... yes ik Becker dint live to his full potential unfortunately but Petrucci is just special...shredding , melodies , and those bends ... Petrucci is the best , man .. an yeah its just my opinion love Becker too

horrors is a very fitting name. for some reason I always think of the film "HP Lovecrafts Dagon" when I hear this. its structured in such a way that its easy to think of a horror film or lovecraft story. creepy, mysterious, and epic.
You just know right away that Dobson is behind the acoustic parts, nobody else can play like that!

Checked up on Marty and watched some interviews where he talked about this album (havent heard about it untill that point), and it truly is like a 2014 Cacophony song :D Hail Marty and Jason hehe. Also, when Marty mentioned that he had chosen Ewan Dobson for the Jason-parts acoustics I knew it would become epic. 5/5
