  • Five hotels constructed in the 1960s, once reserved for Yugoslavia's military elite, now stand in ruins along the pristine shores of the Adriatic Sea. These buildings have been abandoned for decades.
This exclusive resort welcomed thousands of Yugoslav officers and their families.
However, in the early 1990s, during the Croatian War of Independence, the Yugoslav Army devastated these beachside paradises.
The hotels-Grand, Kupari, Goričina, Goričine II, and Pelegrin-could collectively accommodate 1,600 guests at once, with a nearby campsite offering space for over 4,000 more.
The resort also featured private villas, including a holiday home for President Josip Broz Tito. Although initially open to a wider audience, the resort's growing popularity made it difficult to secure a booking without the right connections.
Today, the remains of these once-glamorous hotels are overtaken by weeds, and trees.
While the ruins serve as a stark reminder of the past, the beaches in front of them continue to draw visitors. Both locals and tourists frequent the stunning Croatian waters, where the scars of war remain visible.
