Good ranking on a great band. I dug out my cassette copy of Southern Harmony recently, signed by the Crowes (met before Dublin gig in '95), what a wonderful album. Lost touch with the Crowes post By Your Side but with the new album this year I'm delving back in. The Stones are my favourite band too. I see some great Prince vinyl on your shelves there too!
2 artists I have a lot of is Stones and Prince. I have done a ranking of all the Stones albums last year when Hackney Diamonds was released. These 2 artists are my favorites.
There's a special box set coming out for the anniversary of Southern Harmony. Love the album however I just felt Amorica was better. It was close though
As a huge Crowes fanatic (sic), it's pretty hard to do such a ranking. For my ears, Southern Harmony is a perfect album and Amorica is very close. The rest have absolute highlights among other tunes that I'm not very much excited about. Furthermore, I cannot rank the live albums (which are almost impossible to rank between themselves) with the studio albums, so I'll do separate lists. STUDIO ALBUMS 1. The Southern Harmony And Musical Companion 2. Amorica 3. Shake Your Moneymaker 4. Three Snakes And One Charm 5. Lions 6. Before The Frost...Until The Freeze 7. By Your Side 8. Warpaint 9. 1972 LIVE ALBUMS 1. Wiser For The Time Live 2. Freak And Roll Into The Fog 3. Live (2002) 4. Live At The Greek (w Jimmy Page) 5. Warpaint Live 6. Brothers Of A Feather Last, but certainly not least, I sould mention the LOST CROWES (which I cannot consider as a "proper" studio album - otherwise it would have ranked on #3, just below Amorica) and CROWEOLOGY, which is an awesome recapitulation before the breakup of the band.
I thought Croweolgy was a band finding a way to get excited bout their great body of work. Because they did tour with one half of the show unplugged and the next half electric like Bob Dylan did years ago. Taller is an album that had great outtakes, however the better versions on the album Amorica are the ones I only want to listen to. 'Band" is a complete unreleased album.
@@vinyladdict9987 I totally agree that the Amorica versions are far superior than their equivalents in "Tall". However, the non-Amorica Tall tracks are the most important for me : "Feathers" and "Title Song" (which, oddly enough, was not included in the "Lost Crowes" release, heaven knows why!) are easily among the top 20 (or even top 10) songs by TBC. "Tornado" is also an absolute favorite of mine and "Thunderstorm 6:54" is another standout track. In general, their 1992-1994 crop of songs (album and non-album tracks) has never been matched by the band.
Tornado is awesome, They played it live with the whole group I prefer just the acoustic version. The first four albums up to 3 snakes, are the best albums.

Amorica is my favorite too, even with P 25 London on it. Some of their most beautiful work with Ballad and Nonfiction and Sunflower is a scorcher.
Amorica is a masterpiece. There's so many different directions the album goes through from High Head Blues to P.25 to Wiser Time to Nonfiction...etc
I am a huge crow fan they are what led me to you.Your picks were very close to mine.i put 3snake in the top3.
I have that tattoo of that 45 adapter in the form of snakes

Southern harmony is the best album they've made, and it probably is the best rock album, made in decades

Appreciate Croweology and Live at the Greek.
