When I used to have my 1996 bullet 500, I had a very peculiar problem with the rear brakes The rear brake shoes would break when I applied hard emergency brakes. This happened atleast 5 times during my ownership of 7 yrs. Any guesses as to what the reason could have been
I had a problem during very heavy braking in my 89 350 as well... The brake shoe springs would break and the brakes would not retract to its original position.. Would be jammed occasionally.. Nowadays I use stainless steel springs and grease it well before I replace the brake shoe.. So far it has held us well.
