A wonderful day fishing at Singapore Southern Island (Kusu). I came across an emperor, a grouper and a shark!

Major Craft Crosride 5G good rod ..............u need to use the rod to pump the fish instead of reeling in fish............this way less tired

Yeah, you're kinda right on this, and thanks for your suggestion.
They reason why I do this is all about "taking control". Given the fact that:
1. Singapore shorelines are mostly artificial, there're tons of rocks underneath the water.
2. The fish you hooked up is very likely to be a grouper.
If you don't overpower the fish, there's a good chance you'll lose the fish. A grouper will full-speed dart into the cracks when it gets hooked, if that happens you'll never get it out.

Sure, I was using a 3 inch paddle tail and rigged it up on a Texas rig.
