I suffer from depression on cloudy days. The moment the sun is shining in the sky, my mood returns to normal. I've used labradorite to help me get through those sunless days.

I agree with the Ocean Jasper. It has such a soothing, refreshing, cheery energy. It makes me happy just to see mine. When I first saw it in the store 15 years ago, I had never heard of it before but I was instantly attracted and exuberant when I picked it up. I called it my "cheer-up stone" and have used it as such ever since. The beach is also my happy place and this stone carries a similar feeling for me.

I also think anxiety is a secondary part of depression. During October - March I suffer w S.A.D and am drawn to what I call life stones in pairs of 3. Citrine , smokey quartz and tiger eye or a good grounding stone. While in the summer I gravitate more towards citrine, blue apatite, and a clear quartz, " maybe even a piece of natural copper. "

As someone with severe clinical depression I feel anxiety needs to stop being so intermingled with depression- anxiety is a high vibrational over active emotion where as ongoing depression is a low vibrational state so low you can't even function like a tin man without oil. Anxiety needs calming stones where as depression needs activating energetic stones. The only way you can treat anxiety & depression at the same time is using a goldilocks stone that sits in the middle and helps with both yet isn't functional enough to treat both extreme ends of the spectrum.

I also love Orange Calcite. I have a large acid treated one and it is a beautiful, brilliant yellowish/ orange color with white inclusions. I call it my "pick-me-up stone" it feels like vitality, like a chunk of sunshine, my "fresh orange juice" stone. I love to use it when I'm fatigued, have the flu or in a lethargic depression.

Some interesting choices! I think I'd add smoky quartz, sunstone and orange calcite to the list.
I've been wearing rose quartz today, in necklace and bracelet, and have been feeling very mellow. :)

My personal choice in jewelry are the pale blue stones.....Opals have called to me since my younger days and are my go to stones to feel better, especially strength or comfort. My newest addition was a simple blue chalcedony pendant that cools my emotions right down.

i understand that. but with me, every once in awhile. ill be attract to certain kinds of crystals. it could be either stones of a certain color, or stones that are well known for a certain purpose . then it changes to another bunch of stones well known for a certain(but different) purpose.

I've been battling depression on and off for years and it is seriously so annoying and so hard some days. I don't want to be on medication because I believe it'll cause side effects and I'd basically be trading in my depression for something else to be wrong with me. I like researching natural remedies and I am really wondering if crystals work and how they work ?

when working with crystals while treating anxiety and or depression how often should we clear and cleanse them if we haven't got into the ability to sense it for ourselves?

i have orange calcite, it reminds me of orange juice which used to give me alot of pep. i also have a somewhat raw carnelian, it motivates me. for me that carnielian helps with my self doubt. i also recently just found a black tourmaline i liked, i feel like a bad energy hanging over me. and i have been keeping it with me and since then it feels like this heavyness has lifted. im also trying to manage my time well and make sure i add in breaks to not burn myself out.

I really need this. My husband has just been diagnosed with heart failure, and I have a painful neurological condition that limits my work hours severely. I am terrified and depressed on how to survive should my husband die soon. I need help for depression and to find my survival path.

It was long but kind of an obligatory disclaimer since depression is such a serious condition.
