The 6th Brusko Pacific Coast Epic Track Read for 50KM
We started travelling to General Nakar around 3:30AM and arrived around 7:00AM. First you have to contact the tourism of General Nakar to schedule a guide for the track read. Per person will be asked to pay 55 Pesos. We have two guides that day, one for 100KM and other one for 50KM.
Funny thing was I left my shoes in my car at MANILA! The tourism guy was kind enough to offer his rubber shoes. Thank you Sir!
We road out 8:00AM and the first 6KM was brutal, high slopes with very dry loose rocky sand. after that you'll pass by the ongoing highway project so it's basically gravel. You have about 2-3 river crossings which we didn't try, we opted for the bridge for the track read. There are lots of sari sari store you can stop over so water and food is not a shortage. on the 22KM mark there's a nice river there were you can dip and relax. Then 3KM more then that's half of the 50KM and you just have to go back the same route. We turned back at 22KM and arrived at the end at around 5:00PM. Our running time was 4 hours completed 44.8KM.
I would advise to bring a hydro bag and a neck gaiter. The heat was brutal. Cover up! GOOD LUCK hope I can finish the race!
