    @15:17 ... Why does it say "No fault simulation at this stage" AND also say "Run on sample faults"? What does it mean to run faults without running fault simulations? On they very next slide you seem to indeed be injecting faults into the DUT. How can you determine which faults really need hardening, as you claim on the slide, without running simulations of the injected faults (bottom cone) to see how it compares with the correct output (top cone)?
    ON your website you say the following about about SA, which makes me think you are indeed running faults at that stage:
    "Let us consider an example. The figure below shows a typical safety mechanism, a lock step monitor. This consists of a shadow circuit, which is a duplicate of the main master circuit. The outputs of both are compared on every clock cycle (i.e., in lock step with each other). If a difference is detected on those outputs, a fault is declared."
