It was inevitable, wasn't it? Nintendo responded to the insane worldwide popularity of both "Splatoon" and the Squid Sisters by giving Callie and Marie their very own amiibo. Since the upcoming Splatfest is the very last, owning these amiibos willbe the only way to unlock their live musical numbers that occur in the Splatfests. Enjoy a couple of tracks with dance moves from both. Stay Fresh!

the canonical reason for that is because Pearl & Marina were way too close to each other, while Callie and Marie had a rivalry going on most of the time.

Yeah same, I got the first game in 2017 since I had just got a Wii U and then I only recently got a switch at Christmas last year so of course I missed the final fest :/ (I know there are more now but idk I'm kinda sad I missed most of them)

Now that Inkopolis is returning to Splatoon 3, I hope this functionality is added to the Callie & Marie amiibos, they’d have more uses other than just giving you clothes

It seems like no matter what you nickname them their names always show up in the game as Callie and Marie. I named mine Agent 1 and Agent 2, but their names still show up in-game as Callie and Marie.
Personally, I think after the final Splatfest, there should be a final update, with part of it adding the live versions of the Squid Sisters' songs, making the amiibos more like "Squid Sisters Live: The Album" in amiibo form, since you can already hear the in-game versions through Squid Beatz. Also, allow players to enter multiplayer with the amiibo active to re-activate nighttime turf wars and even nighttime Ranked battles to relive the feeling of Splatfest nostalgia.

Personally I still prefer solution 1 cause the story mode felt better such as the DJ Octavio boss fight was amazing compared to splatoon2 but still I woildnt recommend getting a Wii u just for splatoon

In my opinion the amiibo in splatoon 1 were better, like now Callie and Marie just give you clothes. Like they could at least do something a bit better (idk what) like the orange inkling girl,blue inkling boy and green squid they gave you some tasks to get a weapon and gear

I hate how expensive their amiibos are and yeah its pretty fun but damn I mean personally I think best amiibo is squid amiibo, it gives you a "power" (its totally inspired in predator though) armor, the hero shot replica which is kinda useless only the looks are good and a minigame, you can see marie and callie dance and sing yeah I won't deny its not good but thats the end of it :/
