I love how he immediately ran out for his wife, putting Ran Xi Wei in her place - especially with the "but you can stop making them" line. I love that all of these types of girls are so clueless and ultimately stupid, coming up with ludicrous schemes to get the main female lead out of the way which absolutely backfires and makes the main male lead love the main female lead more! Also, I love how XiXi absolutely admits that her father is just as much at fault for the affair as the mistress is. And I love how XiXi called her out on pretending to be 30 when she's almost 50 and that goes public! Wish there was a scene where XiXi confronted her father, too. This is one of my favorite go-to dramas! Well done!

She thought that because they grew up together and went to the same college, she was the perfect match, but to my understanding, they didn't date in college, they were just friends. Even then she wanted him and he didn't encourage her because he considered her a little sister and his mother considered her like a daughter.

Her father was at fault. I think the blame is always shifted to the woman, not to say she's innocent, but at the end of the day, he is the one to blame for cheating on her mother.

If the woman was unaware of the marriage or relationship and removed herself upon finding out, she wouldn't be at fault just as the man shouldn't have made such a decision but because of the choices she made, she is partially at fault. I think that in the situation they are both at fault and both should be blamed.

Honestly this story of the show came out of nowhere I was so confused when they divorced and when he remarried.
It might not be as symbolic as I think it is, but I'd like to imagine that Xixi grabbing the mistress' arm in the first attempted slap and then Sichen grabbing the other arm is meant to show that Xixi by herself is strong, but now she is no longer alone in facing adversary.
