The good thing about this live action is that it makes new people that know nothing about the anime/manga like it, even people that doesn't watch anime. That's what the author wanted to achieve, he said this is something he always wanted to do as it is a way to get more people into the story (he just had to wait because it's a difficult story to adapt, no one really believed it was possible). That's the amazing thing, how involved the author is in this, this is still his vision, every change literally had to be approved by him first or it wouldn't be done.
I have a book series I’m trying to make. If anyone wanted to adapt it I would hope to be that attached to the project. Hell I’d probably play my own lead character too because I wrote a lot of his personality based on myself 🤣

Part of the fun of OnePiece is solving riddles. All the cards are now in play. The manga is in its final chapter and many people in Japan have already logically solved the mystery; every island has a clue and there are no wasted episodes. So now is the only time you can participate in solving the mystery before spoilers become known.

One Piece is one of the most amazing stories ever written. 2:26 “How can we watch the remake and not the original anime?“ just like FMAB and Hunter x Hunter (2011), which are both remakes that you’ve seen. The Studio WIT anime will fix the biggest issue of the anime, the pacing. With good pacing the now over 1000 episodes should not even be 400.
Noobs like you feel pain in the *** to binge thousand+ episodes.... But for those who are watching it from years when it releases weekly, It is the biggest reward bcs we get to enjoy it now and in future.... Rewatching the trimmed crap is pain in the *** for us.... I even used to watch those Silly and stupid Naruto fillers when it used to release weekly.... But even those made me love the show, now I see people skip all fillers bcs they just want to clear their anime watchlist😴..... If fillers existed in english tv series, the whole series will end in just 1 or 2 episodes.... (Except few masterpieces like BB and BCS, anime are garbage compared to those🤐, )
@@heisenbergrealm9898yeah, "big reward" having to wait weekly for the worst pacing I've ever seen. Love the animation quality after wano and WCI but my god is the pacing bad
@@kobyluactually there is. The Live Action will take many years to release seasons, if they intend to at least finish pre timeskip. By that point all of the actors will have visibly aged. Emily Rudd for instance is already in her 30s. No one would believe that she is still in her early 20s by the time the live action reaches Marineford. The live action dosen't have to follow the same time line as the manga. Remember that this is live action, not an animation.
The producers said they already have plans for 6 seasons, but they would like to even get to 12. It all depends on Netflix, if they give them green light then they'll keep going (and with how popular and how much money this made, I think they will. It was number 1 in almost 100 countries for weeks). I really hope they get to at least make those 6 seasons, with those they could easily get to what's considered the first half of the story.
My understanding is the creator of the manga has full creative control, so they have to get his approval on their scripts before he approves each season to go forward. I'm sure Netflix is fully on board with the 6 season plan, this show was an unexpectedly large success for them, but the scripts still have to be written for all the rest of the seasons before they can formally announce it. With the writer strike that delayed things a bit, but as long as they keep doing as good a job as they did this first season, I'm sure they'll get the necessary approval season-by-season until it's complete.
@@fakecubed I said it all depends on Netflix bc the production has reported they have no problem in doing what Oda wants, so if they present something he doesn't like it's not like that's it, they'll just do it again till he agrees with it, so the author and production are in the same page, the wild card we don't know how will react is Netflix, so it does deoend of them giving green light, as the rest can take time but will be in fact be done and well done.
I’m so happy you’re getting into this crazy world! for someone who isn’t a big fan of live action when it comes to anime, I love this one! the actors and the producers did a very good job to capture the emotions of the original anime and manga, and the way they adapted it is also very interesting can’t wait for the next episode!!
OH SHIT! IT'S TIME! I was wishing, hoping, and praying for this for months. My favorite reaction channel and my favorite show of the past few years. These girls are going to absolutely love Luffy and Koby
Holy fuck this is great, the live action is such a good intro into the story of One Piece. It's not perfect by any means but it captures the heart of the story, and follows most of the story beats in the arcs.
I'm just saying the last reactor I heard say they're not going to watch a thousand episodes. Watched 400 episodes in 3 months and cried all the way through. That's not a threat, it's a promise. This series will get you, and you will love it!

aaaaaa can't wait to see your reactions to the next episodes! :) one piece is my most favorite manga and story, and it always makes me so happy when new people start the story. the live action truly captured the essense, energy, spirit and heart of one piece
I know you won’t believe this now, but you have sealed your fate by starting this marvelous gem of a story even if it’s just a life action for now. Anyone with a heart will understand that life action is really good adaptation of what the anime is for a long time already. I expect you guys to start the anime really soon after the life action is over for you. You are really good reactors and really good at catching the core of this story. One Piece is one of the greatest pieces of art of our time and you will think so too real soon
probably was commented already, but there is quite a bit of the set-crew (camera, stunts and props among others, iirc) that worked on BlackSails before, since that was also filmed in SouthAfrica. Also, some of the pirate ships were actually repurposed ships from BlackSails as well
It's funny we are also watching Black Sails because both shows were filmed in Cape Town. And One Piece is recycling and taking advantage of the leftovers from the Black Sails production. They are reusing the three real ships built for Black Sails and some others props. There also some people on the staff who also worked on Black Sails. The director of the first episodes, Marc Jobst, also directed an episode from S4 of Black Sails.
It is important to note that the Original creator of One Piece ( Eiichiro Oda) was VERY involved in the show, casting, writing, changing scripts that he didn't like, costume designs and props, EVERYTHING regarding the show passed through his hands, he was very vocal about what not to change and what to change, and he was open to adapt the story best way possible, this is not only the vision of the writers of the Live Action, but Oda's too.
*One Piece* was filmed where *Black Sails* has been filmed. There they still had the pools where they could film swimming ships in a controlled studio environment.
Every time you reach a certain point of the series there is extra context to the world that complicates what that means. The goal of the crew is the one piece, but along the way you find that it isn’t JUST the One Piece. Our journey affects everything and the end goal has multiple destinations. The nature of the world creates avenues that make is hard for someone just starting to even understand what the idea of the One Piece is. Along the way you have to learn about the world, the characters in the world, the politics, the science, the history, etc. I don’t understand why people always say this to new watchers or readers because it makes it seem so simple, as if this is taking thousands of episodes or chapters just to reach that answer, but it is so much more than that and it’s naive to think otherwise.
Man now I feel extreme nostalgia to the early days of binging the first 500 episodes during summer break after a friend recommended one piece to me in middle school. These early arcs will always have a special kind of wonder to them. I wish they'd watch the anime but with their schedule that would be a big commitment to one show for years to come basically.
I thought the same thing until I finished the live action. To be honest, I couldn't wait for the second season. I was hesitant at first of watching because it is over a thousand episodes. I am so glad I did. I am binge watching the heck out of it One Piece and I am dang near a thousand episodes. I am loving every second of it.
So excited you're watching this! I'm a fan of the manga/anime and think they did a really good job of keeping the soul of the show while making it adaptable to live action.
The original creator, Eiichiro Oda, was actually heavily involved, Showrunner and Head Writer Matt Owens said on his podcast, "He had so much oversight, that even Catering had to check with him, about what cheese to put on the sandwiches they served." Oda handpicked the cast, asked netflix to order reshoots, and they did, One Piece is his baby, he protects it very well. Oda also still does The Manga himself, its been a regular rlease schedule lately, he is that dedicated. Cant wait for season 2!!!!
I think they're more worried they'd lose viewers by watching such a long show rather than more variety. But they don't seem to realise One Piece reactors probably do the best on TH-cam.
The part where you two see Buggy and one says “that’s terrifying. I don’t like that at all”and the other girl says “isn’t he kind of cute” is the EXACT knife’s edge that Buggy operates on. A truly beloved character.
Oh nice, this is very exciting. I knew almost nothing about One Piece before OPLA came out, just that it was a pirate manga/anime, and I had seen Luffy before randomly on the internet so I had a vague idea of what at least that character looked like. Other than that I came into it completely blind, and absolutely loved it. The key here is that the creator of the manga had final creative control. He didn't let them make changes from his original story unless he allowed them, and he allowed just a few changes to streamline the overall narrative. As a result, the show has fans very happy and newcomers like me can enjoy his vision instead of something made by less talented people who just wanted to wear the IP like a skin suit to tell their own story. So finally, there is a proper live action adaptation of a Japanese IP. I hope Netflix and others take the right lessons from this, and we get more good stuff in the future.
I love listening to you two talk about things and theorize. I watched all of your FMA, Mob Psycho, Vinland Saga, and a lot of your Hunter x Hunter. I have no doubt that you’d love this series specifically because this series has everything you seem to enjoy. Lovable characters and relationships, awesome characters, amazing twists, heartwarming moments, dark moments, moments where you’ll cry - a lot of them, political intrigue, and tons of humor. The anime and manga is definitely much more humorous. One Piece is long and I understand not wanting to get into something long, but it isn’t like FMA and Hunter x Hunter in that it is hyper focused on one storyline and one destination. If you wanted, you could easily do one arc at a time and feel fulfilled. The prologue of One Piece is essentially 100 episodes. Even if you decide not to, I definitely recommend reading the manga. The mangaka, Oda, has been writing and illustrating this story for 25 years straight. He doesn’t see his family because he has been working on this. There are such strong messages and themes in this story that a lot of people use this story as a way live life through hardships, as if this story were a bible. As a joke a lot of people call the creator Oda, Goda for his commitment and understanding of humanity. For context, this is the most sold comic book in the world, outselling Batman and I think it recently passed Superman. The fanbase loves theories and they love to experience people experiencing it for the first time. There are many moments that, once you’ve seen it, you’ll never be able to experience it in the same way again and we love to see people experiencing those moments. I know you’re probably not reading this post, but man, it would be such a blast to hear your thoughts and see how you’d react to this series beyond the live action.
A couple of notes. First, names are like in East Asia so it’s family name before given name; if someone has one name they’re probably an orphan, although Luffy at least has his family name… Second, the bounties are more equivalent to Japanese yen; 5 million isn’t as much in yen compared to say, dollars. Third, the East Blue is actually the safest charted region of the world; the other three quadrants (North, South and West) have even more dangerous pirates than the East, and the Grand Line has the most dangerous of them all. This is a really massive world and the live-action could only do so much; they need to cut corners to pace it so the actors wouldn’t be literally 100 years old whenever they finished it (assuming they get to finish the story). But even then this is a really loyal adaptation in spirit; while it’s not a replacement for the manga or anime (though it’s paced somewhat better than the latter), it’s worth at least trying before trying for the bigger versions…
I totally get not wanting to get into the anime because it’s so incredibly long but that’s exactly what the live action was created for, for people that don’t want to get into the anime to experience this story and vibe that comes with it which I think they nailed. Hopefully you enjoy this and consider getting into the anime later!

Great reaction. I had never watched an anime, but I started watching 'One Piece' after watching the live action and a bunch of reactions. I'm currently on episode 752 (start of 'Zou').
Andor is the best thing to happen to Star Wars since Empire Strikes Back, and it's arguably the only worthwhile thing Disney has done with the IP since buying it. I do hope you watch it someday and I'm glad to hear it came so close in the poll.
ok gals i understand the wariness yall have over the anime but i PROMISSE it's so excellent and so worth the journey and 10x better than the live action. it's also not the kind of show where you have to wait till ep 500 for it to get good kinda like naruto, every arc from the beginning is so up your alley i'm so sure of it. one piece is so long but it's the kind of journey where you don't have to worry about catching up, it's a journey and it doesn't matter if it takes years to finish it or if you don't catch up bc that isn't the purpose. just give it a shot i beg it will be so worth it

😁😁😁 I’m so happy to see you guys react to this show! And I have a proposal… if you think that the animated show it’s too long to watch in one sitting, you can split it on Sagas (like adventures per every Island) and you can take a break if you want after every Island. And also, when you catch up to the anime, you will only have 1 episode per week =) I hope you read me and consider it 😁😁 thanks again girls!
What I love about Luffy is how he is more childlike as an adult than he was as a kid. As a kid he tried to emulate adults, but as he grew up and remembered Shanks, he realized that the best dream of an adult is to never fully "grow up." One Piece emulates this as a show by helping adults rediscover their inner child.

Part of the fun of OnePiece is solving riddles. All the cards are now in play. The manga is in its final chapter and many people in Japan have already logically solved the mystery; every island has a clue and there are no wasted episodes. So now is the only time you can participate in solving the mystery before spoilers become known.
@@shirankedo-ib8uv LOL dont use some spoiler-ish Terminology but you are absolutely correct!!! Now is the perfect time to Embark on such a special Adventure.
Theres were a lot of reactors that started with the Live action and I'm surprised they really follow up with the anime (Devan Clan channel)
Hopefully they will too!
the one piece..IS REAL
One Piece is one of the most amazing stories ever written. 2:26 “How can we watch the remake and not the original anime?“ just like FMAB and Hunter x Hunter (2011), which are both remakes that you’ve seen.
The Studio WIT anime will fix the biggest issue of the anime, the pacing. With good pacing the now over 1000 episodes should not even be 400.
Exactly
Noobs like you feel pain in the *** to binge thousand+ episodes.... But for those who are watching it from years when it releases weekly, It is the biggest reward bcs we get to enjoy it now and in future.... Rewatching the trimmed crap is pain in the *** for us.... I even used to watch those Silly and stupid Naruto fillers when it used to release weekly.... But even those made me love the show, now I see people skip all fillers bcs they just want to clear their anime watchlist😴..... If fillers existed in english tv series, the whole series will end in just 1 or 2 episodes.... (Except few masterpieces like BB and BCS, anime are garbage compared to those🤐, )
@@heisenbergrealm9898this is not the flex that you think it is 🧍
THIS COMMENT!!! YES!!!
@@heisenbergrealm9898yeah, "big reward" having to wait weekly for the worst pacing I've ever seen. Love the animation quality after wano and WCI but my god is the pacing bad
"He's kinda cute."
I mean, Buggy is played by a very handsome actor XD
Luffy is actually 17!! Nami is 18 and Zoro 19 as you thought! So glad you’re watching at least the live action, have a great journey with it!! 🏴☠️❤️
In the manga and anime. In live action nothing was said yet.
@lokinbramvs why would it be any different in the live action
@@lokinbramvs There’s no reason for it to be different??
@@yournan116 Who knows :P
@@kobyluactually there is. The Live Action will take many years to release seasons, if they intend to at least finish pre timeskip.
By that point all of the actors will have visibly aged. Emily Rudd for instance is already in her 30s. No one would believe that she is still in her early 20s by the time the live action reaches Marineford.
The live action dosen't have to follow the same time line as the manga. Remember that this is live action, not an animation.
OMG WHAAAAAATTTT? I NEVER EXPECTED THIS BUT I'M SO HERE FOR IT
The producers said they already have plans for 6 seasons, but they would like to even get to 12.
Welcome aboard. One Piece community is like one big pirate crew hope you guys enjoy the series
except for the ones who spoil things, fuck those people
I’m so happy you’re getting into this crazy world!
for someone who isn’t a big fan of live action when it comes to anime, I love this one! the actors and the producers did a very good job to capture the emotions of the original anime and manga, and the way they adapted it is also very interesting
can’t wait for the next episode!!
This makes me so happy! I love that my favorite reactors found this show that just gives the audience joy.
OH SHIT!
One Piece uses Japanese-style name conventions, so Monkey D. Luffy means Monkey is his surname, and Luffy is his given name.
Monkey D
"isn't he kind of cute? " - yes he is, you are not alone 😭😂
I’m so happy you’re doing this show! (Invincible and Andor will be cool too.). Clicked on this so fast!
Great reaction as always, looking forward to the rest of this show with you.
They’ve done Invincible S1😊
Might be one of the greatest moments in history. A genuine cannon moment; unchangeable singularity in the timeline of the universe. LETS GOOOOOO! THE ONE PIECE IS REALLLLLLLL
Glad that you both like the live action. One piece is my number 1 manga/anime since i was a kid. And i am so happy that they rly nailed the live action.
I love watching people fall in love with One Piece. It's been months since the live action came out and the amount of people that it introduced to this incredible story just makes me really happy. You are definitely in for a ride!
I'm so happy you're reacting to this! I've been a One Piece fan for about 20 years, and I think that they did a phenomenally great job with the live action. Even the things they changed I can accept, they make them work imo, I'm very happy it's not completely 1:1. This way we old fans can look forward to new surprises :D
Im so excited you all are watching this!
aaaaaa can't wait to see your reactions to the next episodes! :) one piece is my most favorite manga and story, and it always makes me so happy when new people start the story. the live action truly captured the essense, energy, spirit and heart of one piece
I SCREAMED WHEN I SAW THIS!!!! even though my wish is for you to watch the anime but THIS'S STILL A BIG W!!!
I am very excited for this series
probably was commented already, but there is quite a bit of the set-crew (camera, stunts and props among others, iirc) that worked on BlackSails before, since that was also filmed in SouthAfrica.
Oda should write a Treasure Island adaption manga with his flare and touch. Thatd be pretty incredible.
@@thorkagemob1297Oda got work on his hands still writing 1107 chapters of One Piece & still writing weekly
Yess!!! I’m so glad to see y’all are reacting to this! You’re gonna love it
"What does One Piece stands for... We're gonna find out..." Even manga readers are still wondering that haha
There is nothing quite like watching One Piece as a child, also watching spy kids in theatres was these feelings as well! I understand! 💗
Sooo excited you both are reacting to this!! I know you'll love it
Man now I feel extreme nostalgia to the early days of binging the first 500 episodes during summer break after a friend recommended one piece to me in middle school. These early arcs will always have a special kind of wonder to them. I wish they'd watch the anime but with their schedule that would be a big commitment to one show for years to come basically.
I honestly didn't expect this from you but I AM SO HAPPY TO SEE IT
Im pretty sure youre gonna watch the anime after this
Youre gonna love it, One Piece is freaking amazing
I thought the same thing until I finished the live action. To be honest, I couldn't wait for the second season. I was hesitant at first of watching because it is over a thousand episodes. I am so glad I did. I am binge watching the heck out of it One Piece and I am dang near a thousand episodes. I am loving every second of it.
So excited you're watching this! I'm a fan of the manga/anime and think they did a really good job of keeping the soul of the show while making it adaptable to live action.
The original creator, Eiichiro Oda, was actually heavily involved, Showrunner and Head Writer Matt Owens said on his podcast, "He had so much oversight, that even Catering had to check with him, about what cheese to put on the sandwiches they served."
Oda handpicked the cast, asked netflix to order reshoots, and they did, One Piece is his baby, he protects it very well. Oda also still does The Manga himself, its been a regular rlease schedule lately, he is that dedicated.
Cant wait for season 2!!!!
I’ve been watching/reading One Piece off and on since it was released in America 18+ years ago, and I LOVED the live action.
Oh no, my friend also started this live action, and now he’s binging the anime lol girls may have fell for the trap too
I think they're more worried they'd lose viewers by watching such a long show rather than more variety.
Reactors: we will never watch the anime
Viewers: challenge accepted
Great reaction guys, welcome to the crew and trust me and everyone on this comment section you would fall in love with this characters and show, who knows probably in the future you consider to join in our adventure the best and the biggest on ours generation and watch what peak fiction is. We will be waiting for you in the future island
Welcome to the OP fandom! Loved the video and looking forward to the next :D
Milena is in the right side of history calling buggy cute
Omgggg finally thank you so much your gonna love this show trust
So excited you're watching this! I interrupted my standard playlist to watch you watch this asap.
I'm so excited for this. I've been a One Piece fan for over 10 years. Maybe even 15 at this point. I totally get not wanting to react to the anime but if you end up liking this i definitely recommend watching on your own time. Its a captivating story. The live action was good but the anime turns it up to 11.
Awww man you guys NEED to react to Andor. It is one of the best shows I’ve ever seen, not just a Star Wars show. So up your alley. Can’t wait for that reaction
I've couldn't be more sure that you two would love One Piece, especially the manga if you like reading those
I definitely recommend yall give the remake a shot whenever it comes out if you choose to skip the og anime (which is totally fair to wanna avoid).
It’s almost guaranteed to be a better product as the whole goal seems to be creating a WAY more digestible and modernized adaptation.
Excited for your reactions to this regardless 😁
Finally, another creators reacting to OP live action, instant follow. ❤❤❤
Great reaction.
I had never watched an anime, but I started watching 'One Piece' after watching the live action and a bunch of reactions. I'm currently on episode 752 (start of 'Zou').
I know 1000+ eps are too overwhelming, but once you start watching it you will ask yourself "where was I in this world? Why didn't i start it sooner"
2:13 thats what we've all said until you start OP then inevitably get hooked. Lmao
Andor is the best thing to happen to Star Wars since Empire Strikes Back, and it's arguably the only worthwhile thing Disney has done with the IP since buying it. I do hope you watch it someday and I'm glad to hear it came so close in the poll.
I didn't understand or liked Andor even tho I've watched every single star wars movies
my favorite anime and manga currently, and the key to watching it and not getting saturated is to pause after each arc
ok gals i understand the wariness yall have over the anime but i PROMISSE it's so excellent and so worth the journey and 10x better than the live action. it's also not the kind of show where you have to wait till ep 500 for it to get good kinda like naruto, every arc from the beginning is so up your alley i'm so sure of it. one piece is so long but it's the kind of journey where you don't have to worry about catching up, it's a journey and it doesn't matter if it takes years to finish it or if you don't catch up bc that isn't the purpose. just give it a shot i beg it will be so worth it
I’m glad Andor is on y’all’s radar! It’s a great show. I really enjoyed one piece as well.
Omg, hellooo, I used see you girls with “the 100”, after that final disapointed i’m glad to see you again with this fantastic, fenomenal and beautiful show. I hope that you enjoy One piece, i’ve been in this fandom since almost 15 years ago and its amasing, you will Love it. Sorry for my english. Saludos desde México.❤
"Cute? You're psychotic" Buggy was the main thirst trap of the series even though there are people like Zoro's actor in it.
Every reactor I’ve watched has come in saying they won’t watch the anime, and then by the end they want to start it. And as someone who loves the anime, the live action was great!! I think you will find the sentiment popular among one piece anime fan
“I’m sure Shanks could beat your ass” I genuinely laughed out loud
Let's go!!!!
One Piece and the girls, a truly great pairing
What I love about Luffy is how he is more childlike as an adult than he was as a kid. As a kid he tried to emulate adults, but as he grew up and remembered Shanks, he realized that the best dream of an adult is to never fully "grow up." One Piece emulates this as a show by helping adults rediscover their inner child.
Awesome, one of the best shows last year!
My group of friends thought they will watch only the live action but guess what? Some of them now on their thousand episodes🤣🤣
Yes, seeing the live action version first then the anime one will giving you more objective reason when you comparing which one is the best one
Jedva cekam vasu sledecu reakciju!
Ommgggggg L&M in the World of one piece, here we go 🤩❤
Excited for you both to see this! I think it is a great fit for yall. And as a fan of One Piece since I was a kid, I thoroughly enjoyed this adaptation and think they did an excellent job. I have some small nitpicks, but I think they conveyed the vibe of the show very well.
I have always said that i'd never watch the 1000 episodes but honestly, the only thing stopping me is the different soundtrack. I know some people find it iconic and love it, but the one here i prefer so much more.
Compared to other anime live actions like Death Note, Dragon Ball, Bleach etc. this is really good.
OMGGGG IM SO EXCITED
Yall are so set on the crew being kids when a bunch of them are in their 30s or older lol
yay! Welcome on board!
I discovered this channel through the Attack On Titan reactions and returned for Fullmetal Alchemist. Now I’m glad to see One Piece, my favorite anime. Love this.
