It's been a big since my last closet cleanout, but today is the day because I moved and I literally have no room for these clothes anymore! I definitely feel attached to my clothing so this was definitely a hard one, but I know someone else will get so much more wear out of these pieces! Plus putting these on my poshmark to me is almost like merch so it's cool seeing the pieces I've thrifted in past videos go to one of you!

I recently moved and went through a style crisis also. Once you settle in and it starts feeling more like home, you will find your style again. Great job on decluttering!
While they’re in there repainting, ask them to plug the holes in the walls! Also maybe ask for a second row of matching shelves up top in your closet?
Treat yourself to some felt hangers. You’ll see all your different pieces so much better. Your old hangers can be recycled or donated.
Also, your style is whatever you’re wearing right now for what you’re doing in life. Sometimes things are just more practical than aesthetic. Love hearing your decision tree chat about decluttering!

As you evolve as a person and age, you're style is naturally going to change. I can have a favorite shirt one month and hate it next month.
Like right now I don't have outfits, thing is I do, but they just don't fit the era I'm in
Thrifting has become such a life saver for me ❤️ when we moved across country, we hired someone to transport our things..long story short we got scammed and only got maybe 15% of our belongings. I only got one small box of clothes that contained around 5 pieces of clothing (they were big things like robes and jackets) so all the clothes I ended up with were some tank tops, one pair of shoes, few pairs of pajamas and some yoga pants that I packed for the drive. I used to have a walk in closet full of clothes and will never see any of that stuff again and that still really bothers me. HOWEVER! Thrifting has let me rebuild my wardrobe and I’ve gotten some beautiful things so thank you for donating your clothes…you never who will buy it after you and you may just change their life (sounds dramatic ik but it’s true) 😊❤️

Thank you for filming this. I'm moving in with my boyfriend soon and need to do a major declutter. Definitely not looking forward to it. I'm one of those people who hangs on to something because "it's cute and I might wear it again some day" even if I haven't worn it in three years. So this motivates me to get rid of things I might not have otherwise.

this was great to watch, it reminds me to be conscious of what i buy especially at the thrift since the dressing rooms arent open in many of them. so being extra particular with deciding whether or not an item will work with my wardrobe is a good idea
Instead of stuffing clothes in the plastic drawers, fold them small enough so that they can be put in the drawer like a file. Then you can see what you have at a glance and not have to dig for what you want. That minute per item folding saves several minutes of digging when you get dressed.
For sure! I wasn’t organizing anything at the moment, but once we get some things figured out with the closets I’ll be properly organizing things so it’s not all stuffed!

Just decluttered my closet over the weekend and felt so good. I’ve held on to so many things for too long that was never getting worn. Now when I go to my closet I genuinely want to wear what I own.
I 100% felt, and even had to replay a couple times when you said you like camis and felt you had to buy one in every single color. That was me a couple years ago. I would buy pieces that I liked in every color and then only wore the first color that I bought anyway! Also have been decluttering my closet too and been finding so many things I don't even wear.
I don't like being wrong and letting go of clothes that I shouldn't have bought or definitely don't fit is hard. Feeling a bit inspired to give it a try after this vid though thnx!

This was good timing. I am in the process of doing this myself. I felt like I was being overwhelmed by clothing and I actually would like to be a bit more minimal with my clothing than I have been in the past. I also don’t have much storage and my closet actually gets damp so I have to make sure that things have space for air circulation. (Using a hanging Damp Rid has helped a ton as well!)
Alexa, I know it’s hard to let go of certain items sometimes, especially if you find value in them. However, hopefully you know you will be gifting (by letting people purchase your beloved style 😎) -people who will love them as much if not more than even you do. I’m in a similar style situation, I feel like I always get this way after summer of not knowing my style or how I want to style things.
Love a good decluttering video! I think we’re the same size in shoes. I also wear a size 10 US but I have to look up the European size. If it’s a 40, it’s going to be too small for me and will size up to 11 US/41EU… Those Aloha boots are a dream!! I wish I lived in the states and could buy them off you (I live in Canada 😭). I just did a closet declutter as well, inspired by this video. I'm moving soon too, so you've made me think about a situation where I won't have space for all of my clothes. Your video also helped me to get rid of things I would usually keep just because they're cute, but I just never wear.
The fabric! Yes. Natural fibers, cotton, silk, linen, wool. I ditched all the polyester forever.

As for trying to figure out your personal style and which outfits work best for you I may have a tip: Not sure if it's weird to mention another youtuber but Lydia Tomlinson's content has helped me tremendously with understanding why certain clothes work in an outfit and why some don't.

As someone who has struggled with depression and anxiety all my life, I'd like to say two things.
If there is a med try it. If it helps, you will feel infinitely better. Then remember that you will need to have that kind of help medicine for the rest of your life. I do.
Next, as you work on your therapy and loving yourself it does get better! Do the work. Hug yourself and tell yourself what you would lovingly tell a friend, "You do the best you can. I support you."

You can treat for spiders. I think you can even get all natural treatments. You can also mix stuff yourself and spray yourself. Look for recipes on pinterest.

I'm only 6 minutes in but when you were talking about struggling to style and wear the red velvet edwardian(?) jacket and also saying you were in a weird place with dressing yourself, it reminded me of a recent video from Hannah Louise Poston about how to get dressed to maximize your wardrobe and enjoyment of your outfit!! I would love to see a video of you trying out her method, maybe for a whole week or even just once, to try to use items you want to style! It was called "Getting dressed: You're doing it wrong"

We moved in to my father-in-law's to take care of him several months ago and I went from having a whole room for a closet to now half of a tiny closet. I went through and basically anything I haven't touched or thought about styling since we moved in or if is not fitting correctly, I got rid of it. I feel like I have hardly any clothes left :(
I put my overflow pants, t-shirts, and sweaters in plastic bins.
Don't get rid of the sweater your dad gave you!!! You'll want it one day

I definitely need to do a massive declutter myself. I went thrifting today just because, as I told my partner, I felt "bored and irresponsible". I ran out of room on my clothing rack several weeks if not over a month ago and my dresser is starting to struggle too. It's just so hard to choose what to get rid of because even though I have a ton of clothes, I'm pretty consistent about wearing most of them.
I don't have a closet in my apartment and that doesn't help my case for owning so many clothes at all. Sometimes I think I should take advantage of my closet at my dad's house more and switch things out when I visit, but I feel like I wouldn't have what I want when I want it. 😂😅

@@RaeganScarlett I got there early enough but unfortunately Alexa is in the USA and I’m in 🇨🇦 and Poshmark doesn’t ship between the two places unfortunately(Yet) the shipping price is setting on there and there’s a HUGE difference! Last year for Christmas my sister sent me a TINY package and payed $50 s&h CRAZY! It’s a really bummer because US Poshmark has all the cool stuff I feel like🥹

Idk if it's just me but the ads I've been getting on pretty much all TH-cam videos lately have been wayyyy too long imo. I'd watch the ads if I could skip after five seconds but instead I end up doing a little hackey hack and skipping the entire thing bc they're just way too long. I've been sitting on my hoard of clothes for so long and i HAVE to get it cleaned out.
A couple years ago i had to pack up most of my stuff into storage and then lost almost 30 pounds so I've been dreading going back knowing almost none of my favorites will fit anymore, so i just continue to live in denial 😭😂
