Whether M4 iMac with 24 or 32 GB RAM is adequate for Lightroom Classic and Photoshop with occasional 4K or FHD video editing? Currently I use M3 MacBook Pro; but I love to work on desktop.
Such a thin AIO desktop being faster than the top of the line Pro laptop 3 years ago is a whole achievement by itself It's catered to home users but one can do some work on it, too. Very nice The only serious omission seems to be the SSD speed
Your ending illustrated a dilemma for non-Pro Apple M1 and M2 users. After 4 years, If a Content Creator can use a base M1 iMac or Mini for video, audio and photo editing/graphics etc, consider the value proposition it still affords solo creators and small shops operating on tight budgets. For everyday computer and home office tasks, surfing and content consumption, the M1 still screams. I suspect that even base OG M1s will have no problem crunching thru Apple Intelligence...they may just be a beat "slower" with a response to a query or command. It might be similar to editing 4k video on a M1 with 8gb RAM. You may periodically have to work with proxies, close extraneous apps, tabs and have longer renders but the final result will still match that of a fast "Pro" Mac.
How do you switch a Mac mini or iMac to "Low Power Mode" ? I thought only Macbooks have this ? I have an M2 Mac mini and I couldn't find the low power mode setting.
You confused the shit out of me when you said the prices. It's $1299 on the website and on your affiliate link on your video. Why are you saying its over $2k? Is this a special version or something?
Geekbench just tests the peak performance, while cinebench is more realistic if your task takes time to finish and not just a burst. It keeps running putting load on the CPU or GPU and here thermal throttling might happen causing a drop down in the performance to keep the thermals within the acceptable range. So for quick tasks geekbench ahould be accurate but for lengthy tasks and heavy load, cone bench is kore accurate.
Apple products aren't expensive anymore, but rather, in some cases, cheaper than the MS Windows counterparts. For instance, the maximum possible configuration for iMac M4 is half the price that of the Microsoft All-in-One, which is roughly $4,500, with only one configuration. That's nuts! However, with the Microsoft Surface Studio 2 laptop, it is slightly cheaper than the maxed-out MacBook Air, because you can get up to a whopping 64 GB of RAM, not limited to max of 24, but you can only get 1 TB not 2 TB storage option. Still running on energy-draining Intel processors. I would say buying from Microsoft is a total rip-off compared to these new offerings. All things considered, paying an extra $2,200 for 8 TB SSD on MacBook Pro M4 Max is fair, considering the other specs make up for the $8,000 or so price tag--these new computers are built to handle video footage from large-format cameras costing that of a Tesla. Apple is the only company offering 8 TB storage for the past several years on their top-of-the-line models. That said, I am happy with Apple's pricing, and the iMac M4, while not enough for my needs, for most people, is not only extremely appealing, but cheaper than the competition in the non-plastic realm of all-in-ones. In fact, it is basically an M4 iPad Pro with a stand and FREE Magic Keyboard and Mouse, which are themselves overpriced. A $50 Logitech Keyboard and Mouse work great and more comfortable. Only disappointment really is the WiFi 6 SE instead of WiFi 7. Yes, WiFI 7 on iPhone 16 Pro Max is much more reliable and faster than iPhone 13 Pro Max. New iPhone 16 Pro Max is amazing!
These numbers have absolutely no meaning to me. Comparing against old versions is useless. What a WASTE OF YOUR TIME AND MINE to watch this crappie review 😮
Nice to see the apple PR department released a new video
What spec was the M4 Pro Mini? Was it the 12 or 14 core CPU with 16 or 20 core GPU?
soundtrack is banging! good stuff, video was gorgeous as always.
Love the m4 on my iPad Pro. High expectations for my upcoming m4 iMac
If there was a 27" M4 Pro iMac, I'd be a buyer...

I love the video! You always remind me of the face of JackSepticEye and the voice of Arnold Schwarzenegger haha. Its a compliment haha

would have loved to see an intel based mac thrown in the comparison for us legacy users lol
Would have melted your chassis
@@davypelletier Nah, the 2020 iMac with 5700XT is faster than the M1 Max.
intro is so fire!!!! sheesh!!!! chill!!!!!!!!! Yooo!!!
Not necessary to get an Imac to read e-mails, to read videos, to download videos nor browsing. Ipad Air 13 is enough. Let’s just tell that.
2:13 heard something else "shifts color" lol xD

M4 mac mini pro is a steal
Thank you for the review but what about people who don’t need an overpriced M4 ultra? Will you do the review base model?
No idea what you're talking about. The M4 Ultra hasn't even been announced yet. The video is for the base M4.
Bring back the 27" maybe even a 32" widescreen version.
3:48 Why was the M1 Max twice as fast as the M2 Max? Faster SSD?
Yeah probably
just a mistake , i think , cuz later on there is no such a big difference
Yes we need an imac pro
Was this the base model , what was the core and the ram ?

My only gripe is that I wish they made a 27 or 32 inch screen
Why cpu difference between m4 imac and m4 pro in cinebench 2024 is so high compared to geeckbench 6 ):

Why is the SSD speed so slow? Apple always disappoints.
Ooh, ikinci!
If I buy this for my kid, can he play Minecraft, Fortnite , Roblox? And is steam games there?
Don't buy a Mac for games. Steam games barely ever work on Mac. Build a pc.
Yes! Where the F is the iMac pro???
Just over 10mins, that’s an art form lol
10m video ad cuts haven't been a thing for like 6+ years lol

thanks! , this is very disappointing. Looks like for all video/photo work M2 Max now is the best option for the buck
A doctor a day keeps the Apple away.

Those bezels on iMac is enormous and I hate it
It doesn’t need super slim bezels. It’s a desktop computer not a phone.
@@davidjacobs6244 They can make İpad with M4 and its super slim. Also ipad has battery in it 🤠
@@davidjacobs6244 why would you be okay with big bezels on a computer?
I like those big white bezels. Other stuff is just plain boring.
@@Tenaciouss666 Why would you NOT be okay with them? You still have 24” screen space and you are not looking at the bezels all the time.
same same but diffferent but stilllllll same
Ahah the GPU performance is laughable.
Looks like iMac is a very poor purchase choice.
All that bullshit and still no Vesa mounting
They want you to pay 400 for their mount. Lol
