Hi Dan you always talk of Mortske. Don't let him bother you he bad mouths Puddin as well I seen his hacks he always talk about loosing his shop. I don't see how his net worth is a half million. You are right he focuses on selling his merchandise. I am a disabled Viet-Nam Vet. I like how living in Canada and you display the American Flag. You're not a hack. You get the job done to the best of your ability. Keep up the good work.
Thank you for your service! If I were old enough then I would have been there when you nam vets came home I would be up front full of support for all .
once spent 6 hours on a 6 cylinder that had no compression pulling plugs ans putting oil in and it would only run till oil burnt off i switched to gear oil to get a longer run time my persistace paid off the rings freed and it stayed running smoked out the whole shop had to leave after it run got heat into block it ran great 135 psi to 150 psi comp after running few times anyways love your vids keep up the good work
Dan, I'm fairly new to your channel, but dig what DD speed shop is. Please cobble together the 283 because I need the inspiration to cobble my 305 together and that's what I get from your videos. Keep rocking, good luck on the build.
Hey Dan, Please be careful with your back. You surely don't want to end up with a back like mine. I had one surgery and that surgeon screwed it up worse. Now they want to do 2 more surgeries and no guarantees. Screw them. I'll keep taking my pain meds and live the best I can. By the way, I was a mechanic all my life till I was 40 and blew out my back. Another thing, I wish I could be tripping over tri fives like you. lol Love your channel and videos, including your knowledge of tri fives. Take care and be safe.
In my mind, a 1st Gen SBC has a soul, an LS does not. I would pull out the 3 stone hone, the lapping compound, buy a cheap Amazon SBC Rebuild kit and show that the 283 can be rebuilt and run well on the cheap. It would go well with the spirit of the Ratty '57 Hardtop build. That's just my vote, it's your car and you pay the bills! Dan can do no wrong when a Tri-Five is saved instead of facing the crusher! As always, I will continue to watch! Keep up the great work!
Dan, your content is authentic and unique. I admire what you do with these old cars and even if I wouldn't have chosen to do them the way you did them, I like that you stay true to yourself. Keep on truckin brother and I'll keep watching this amazing channel👍
Hey Dan... definitely would love to see you rip into that 283. To at the least see what's going on with it. Oh and love your channel. Love the banter between you and danielle.😂😂😂❤ anyway Keep the great content coming. Hate seeing the snow. Lol!! We dont get to see it often here in Nashville Tennessee.
You have definitely allowed me to lower my standards. Instead of saving and saving for parts for my 68 bronco that I have had since 1998 I’m now working on it. Instead of waiting till I every part and panel
It would be really cool down the road to go thru and beef up that 283, love those Motors they have lots of torque, my friend had one in his little chevy luv truck, what a monster, always enjoy your videos. 😊
Interesting the difference in treatment between the "Worst 57 Chevy, and the new Nomad, I'm enjoying both. Thank you for your efforts in keeping as many car from the scrapper as you can.
When you are at swap meets and such keep your eyes out for small block ford fenderwell headers the pipes don't have to be moved to use on a ls just the flange
I have to admit, that as entertaining as these are, they have become a kind of addictive. The term I use is referobble works cause there is to me nothing more frustrating than a pile of usable parts and no where to bolt them all together into a "runner" . I know I'm not alone with this deli-ma. Be well. Hi Danny.
Hey, Dan:Thanks for paying close attention to the 283.Think it deserves that. One of my alltime favourite engines.Growing up, our had a bunch of in different cars. One tough engine!
Dude, you got slot of icons in the fire? I'd like to see the Joel get finished? Or at least running. But I enjoy watching you work your ass off. Be careful Dan. I worked my ass off for45 years. And now after back surgery # 4, I'm living my life vicariously through watching you, VGG PBG, Puddins fab shop,Halfasscustoms, etc. Keep it up. Be careful with your BCK!!!👍👍👍
Dan down here Hobo Freight sells furniture movers pretty cheap, you should get some, and alter them , so you can sit things on them. It makes stuff easy to move , with less drama, than trying to drive the Bobcat beside your good stuff! Carry on sir!
Well Dan, like Tri Five Chev's they are not making any more small block chev engines. People were telling me that I was putting a " belly button engine" in my project. ( a 1927 Model T). It was what I had to work with 28 years ago and I still grin every time I let her at it. You keep every one you can! Every body has an LS
Hey brother keep up the good work, there's a reason why I watch every one of your vids within 24 hours, yet while also subscribed to Mortske, i haven't watched one of his in months...
🗿💨 the 283 would make a high revving black nomad eng.. imo. Rv cam advance timing chain 2°, 194 heads and with solid lifters and screw in studs. @8000 Rpms it should perform with or without supercharger 😎 open plentiem intake 700 CFM min😎 Dang, I love a buzzing small block. Thanks for sharing Dan
Can't believe you still haven't taken the auction numbers off the windows of the most expensive Nomad... but loving your vids anyway. Good seeing your progress.
You know what I do for engine stands I take shopping carts and cut the tops off and it leaves a good base to put motors on. Mine hold big block Chrysler and 460 Ford’s with transmissions no problem and have sat on them for years without bending or breaking them. I have been doing that for over 25 years. Try one you will like it!
I look at your double doors facing each other from one garage to the other. You could pull the doors off put them in the basement and build a "shed" or passthrough between the two. You could get real fancy and make the enclosure to retain the doors and just pin them open.
I agree with @kevinshowers, that’s the way Mortske is. He means you no harm Dan. He talks that way to everyone. Two different guys you and him. Just like Puddin. Puddin is way out in left field. You are more serious about what you do. And I believe you do it well. I’m an old hotrodder from the 60 thru 82 when I concentrated on music and my family. Just do what you do Dan, it’s very good entertainment and it’s tri 5’s
Yep, my garage is sloppy. And they didn’t finish the concrete very well. Trying to kick the front of the engine hoist around is a pain while the other side always goes the wrong way.
Dan.....all the builds are looking great....yep just get these rides back on the road and enjoy them....oh here in Michigan we just got our 1st snow fall..did you do this ? ..haha..DD Speed Shop is great and entertaining as well as educational..take care / T😊
Keep up the good work [butchery] I enjoy every moment you guys are my favorite You Tube channel . I too am a Tri Five lover since way back when [have never had one] I own and build Mopars [not a purest] but love everything cars .
Ahh thought, go ahead and install that L/S in the 57... However you have a brilliant idea of tearing down the 283 and making that happy... On a side note, leave Morski and Puddin alone stop carrying there water.... Your the true Rock Star ..... :)
I have always been more of a truck guy. More gm. I have an early bronco now for a toy. I wish I had TH-cam or the knowledge I have gained from it for my first vehicle a Chevy blazer 85 305 gutless. With the help of my brother I bought new doors and painted it. It looked nice but passing gear actually let others pull ahead. I wish I woulda swapped in a 350 instead of selling it cheap.
Dan, what you need is a dolly I have moved engines and transmissions easy, pezy. In tight spots, just get a heavy-duty duty one. Leverage versus muscles.
Hi, Dan, could I suggest something to you? You was putting the headers on your 57. The blue and I was thinking. If you had a racket pin, you're stirring from a Thunderbird, a 93 or 96 thunderbird. That Bang would fit and you wouldn't have no problem. With your parents, are you ready to go? I've been watching your ever since you've been on. I really like your content
Would imagine you would get a lot of thumbs up if you explain how to connect the MSD ignition controller to the car's wire harness. Know I would! But of course I always do anyway. Just saying lots of people wonder how simple that process is.

I'd love to see the 283 teardown always thought the little motors were great
A 283ci. is a sweet little engine, so open her up and see what things look like ! If it can be rebuilt without breaking the bank, then go for it. 🙂👍
Danny ,I have come to the conclusion that you are one of the hardest working guys out there.Total respect to ya my man.
🗿💨yep👍
Thanks buddy! Appreciate it
Loved Dan’s quote when oil leaked onto the garage floor, “well at least the floor won’t rust” LOL

I'll tear into the old girl
Would love to see a rebuild of that 283 motor not professionally done but the DD SPEED SHOP way 👍
Yeah. Let's see what is wrong with the 283.
I spend more time with Dan on the weekend than out in my own garage... You owe me Dan! 😆

Dan I sure would like to see that 283 teardown since I have the '67 version in my garage waiting for winter to hit.

It’s coming together slowly but surely great job Dan.
It would be really cool down the road to go thru and beef up that 283, love those Motors they have lots of torque, my friend had one in his little chevy luv truck, what a monster, always enjoy your videos. 😊
Lots of torque.. Now that's funny shit right there. A 383 stroker has lots and lots of torque, not a 283.
You can get 330hp and 330ft torque out of a 283, right heads, intake, carb, headers, pro comp cam.
I always stored engines on the bottom cradle of (old) shopping carts, giving you wheels for moving around, not the strongest but free
Shopping carts eh, is that why my local market has the automatic locking wheels when you get out in the parking lot?😆
I'm glad that you went with the LS but I too would like to see what's up with the 283.
Thanks for another great episode.. would love to see the engine teardown.. go for it 👍

Buy some LS header flanges and cut the pipes and weld them to the new flanges
This is the perfect way to piss off Tri-Five purests, LS guys, SBC guys and countless others... All at once!! Love it!!
National Nomad Sticker on the back window.
Trying to cut those BB headers will be a headache, just use sbc headers. Use the BB headers for a future project
No cussing instalation, I'm impressed.
