Completely agree with JTello. Classic’s anniversary content is in retail. It’s a way for blizzard to intice classic players to try retail again

The difference between, from what ive see, theyre both such different types of MMO. Theyre not comparable in the slightest. Different engine, graphics, classes, gameplay (core gameplay). If you like AoC, that's totally fine, but its like comparing Cyberpunk 2077 to GTA V. Theyre both massive worlds, yet theyre completely different in every aspect.

I think they will make a retail classic+ in classic artstyle. they are warming us up to it rn through classic streamers playing the new xpac and supporting playing retail. I can see right thru these creators. However, classic players will simply quit en masse like they did sod. its a really simple playerbase to please but everyone has ideas how to fix things that arent broken. good luck with + blizz (youll need it)
I think the Classic+ dream is just that. A dream that wont happen. There is simply too many different versions of what that is for the "classic" player base. I also believe Blizzard will role out Mists of Pandaria after Cataclysm ends next spring or summer. They will drag out Season of Mastery for another 6 months and role out a few "fresh" vanilla &/or TBC servers. They want people to go to retail.
I'd be so down for an endless PvP zone/event where classes are stripped back to basics with 6 normal abilities/items & the factions fight over control points. Either 30 sec auto rez at a graveyard or faction member rez at corpse. There should be chests to open throughout the zone with RNG upgrades related to your class. No flight apart from a time gated abilty to call in a redeployment or vehicles that spawn when X amount of resources are collected. Make it a zone that only allows players to enter when player count is fairly equal with proximity chat always on, skill/aim based combat. You can call in a pickup at any time & recieve a buff on leaving related to the kills you got.
Theres a reason battle royales are so popular & Blizzard have so far, bar Plunderstorm missed the boat. I see no reason why they couldn't capitalize on it still though. It could even be used as an instanced PvP free for all with small group sizes that doesnt have endless respawns unless rezzed by team members.
the only people who came back for p4 are people who were playing p3 or took a break halfway through. People who quit sod to quit sod, left because they dont like core features of sod. the real pvp community will not come back without reversal of premades, incentive to play beyond AV, for example. Some people quit because they dont like 20 mans, it removes the stature of large guilds and large raids. you may disagree, but they dont - and a new raid wont change that for those people
I fall into both camps - they could announce 5 completely new raids and I still wont play - and neither will my guild, because of core design choice philosopies regarding pve and pvp
regarding arenas, there are blizzcon arena champions and other multi rank 1 players who say arenas dont belong in sod - and I dont see this bringing back die hard pvp players either

Showing the retail players whats within classic could also be a good start up for an announcment within the classic universe.
What about if blizzard brings League into wow as a pvp zone/bg? :D I could see that working.
Do you see any relationship between the announced T2 set, BRD dungeon and so on and a totally new Classic Mode? I thinking about this a lot. And it’s for me not very clear why they are releasing this transmogs and classic dungeons for retails without thinking to recycle this stuff for something new.

@EbonhardtTV as more time goes on im starting to think classic + should have more and more stuff from retail talent tree + hero tree "quest unlock" will balance the game hurricanes unreal 5.2 graphics. finish and fix all the story line because Classic tbc wotlk all happen at the same time so combine them and fix the level tiers to the way lore fits the story line because lvl 60 cap doesnt make any since story wise we can actually take a hit from stuff that is basicly double our level
I am just afraid that these devs will release classic+ but with allot of shortcuts and still not give us what we fully want.

Super excited for ashes of creation, a fresh project with modern technology for their devs to get excited by. WoW has been dead ever since wotlk onwards the spark that made wow amazing has been gone for a long time. SoD is embarrassing. The only reason SoD has a player base is simply because they control the monopoly in terms of MMO's. Hopefully Ashes lives up to a fraction of the hype to not only be a great game for us to enjoy but also hold blizzard accountable for releasing garbage.
Classic + will just be Classic Retail. Meaning ALL the community killing functions of Retail will be shoe horned into a New Classic. RDF, Transmog, Trading Post, etc..
So the good stuff? No problem with lfd, make it server intern only.
I may be in the minority, but: do it the way RuneScape has done it.
They should do an "elite mode" for classic - in elite mode, every mob in the world is now elite, it would be meant for groups but you could do it solo. Quest mob xp is no longer shared between group members, everyone gets full xp from kills, all green drops are now blue. Mobs that were elite before are now "mythic".
Why are you talking about the riot MMO as if they didn’t just cancel it.
i mean do i feel bad for classic players not getting anything for this anniversary? not really. :x as they said, it would either be a shot in the foot or money loss cause sad to say, classic era stuff is not fun. even when they rebrought it back back in what? 2019? it was fun for people that didn't get the chance to try it at the get go. now they've experienced it, most don't wanna go back to experience older system stuff... will they give something new to the classic players? ehhh maybe a toy/some fireworks and a pet maybe? I don't know, that's entirely up to blizzard at this point, not the players.
As for wanting competition with other MMO games, I wouldn't wanna do that at all with classic+ cause this big "dream" for the game might be to high expectations and people need to keep themselves grounded... and stop getting high on it. Ashes might not even be done by the time classic+ comes out cause there's some troubles going on with Ashes of Creation. The Riot MMO is done i thought? Like they're now back to square 1 again I heard? I forgot where I heard the news but they were basically canceling out on the idea of a RIOT MMO game. Any other MMO like game are gonna be some re-releases like Blade and Soul Classic... Yes that's really coming back in it's old glory with some of the newer stuff but the weapon upgrade system from the classic days, is back vs paying money to win basically. Vindictus 2 is another one to look out for but NEXON has also a bad record to a point. There are some more MMOs coming but till I see more footage of gameplay and the like, they're non existed at this point till they show more or talk more on the game.
But yeah guys, not gonna lie, you even got the younger peeps shit talking a bit saying that "valorant has fuck boys and egirls, WoW has divorced dads" I was kinda laughing cause the divorced dads is fuckin wild. Dads playing sure but that's just wild. XD
