It’s funny you mention it smells like PdM. The perfumer for this one, Hamid Merati-Kashani, did Layton and many other of the other popular offerings from PdM that defined the house. It’s cool to see how you can identify a perfumer’s style even across different brands. 😊 My problem with Fragrance du Blah is that the oud is rarely detectable, the performance is terrible, and it’s overpriced on top of that (not to mention being an overhyped brand that’s part of the “free bottle brigade”).
I have to admit, i’m one of those who jumped into the FDB hype. Sold 4 of them away. Some i do enjoyed but definitely not worth the price. Except for Sahraa, the rest that i owned or tested doesn’t even last that bit on me. Overpriced but hey kuddos to the marketing team 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻. The “vintage oud” they claimed is probably black agarwood synthetic they have stored for 2-3 years. 😂😂😂😂😂
