  • In this video, you can see the entire process of synthesizing a cello or a string quartet. For these 3 sessions, I used Vital, Sculpture, and Plasmonic.
    • Creating the sound base: In this case, I started by using some pre-made presets.
    • Combining the transients: I merged different transients to create a cohesive sound.
    • EQ and limiting: I applied equalization to balance the frequencies and used a limiter to control the peaks.
    • Phase alignment: Finally, I phase-aligned the sounds to avoid any issues with DC offset.
    VITAL: Aktarus Sound Edited
    PLASMONIC: Andrew Fly Cello Edited
    SCULPTURE: Noises

Hey Andrew... these are very realistic sounds that you've created through synthesis. Great work. I'd love to put these up against a sample library to see how they compare. In some ways I think that they'd make a great supplement to a sample library... in other ways I think they'd make a great substitute. Cheers!

Obviously, it’s a different type of sound, but to be honest, I always love real instruments. However, for experimental and original projects, it’s fine. A soundtrack with a dystopian theme could definitely be complemented by these sounds.
