- Downstream from deceit
Downwind from lies
Yer life’s always for sale
And the price ain’t all that high
Dupont
The duplicit, dirty dog
Dupont
Your “forever chemical” friend
Dupont
It’ll grow on you
All good things ‘a gotta come to an end
It’s a classic tale
It’s a common theme
The American Nightmare’s
Still a dream
Even if only technically.
I’d love to wake up,
If I could only sleep
Dupont
Where you know it’s clean
Dupont
They can’t hear you scream
Dupont
‘Long as the check get’s sent
Dupont
‘Long as the food don’t stick
Dupont
PFOS, C-8, and chemical sludge
Money’s hard to move, it’ll hardly budge.
And the truth walks with a limp.
While the lies fly by on the side of a blimp.
Dupont
Send out all your checks
You can’t take back birth defects
Dupont
All of your songs make me wish they lasted as long as the microplastics in my blood
Individuals have been sued for less
Corporations just get away with it
@@clintgable6123well that tends to happen in a corporate plutocracy.
I hope "microplastics in my blood" is the name of his next song
💯😂Funny you should say that mate; check out this extract from a news article that came out in my country literally in the last hour...
"Microplastics have been found in human testicles, with researchers saying the discovery might be linked to declining sperm counts in men.
The scientists tested 23 human testes, as well as 47 testes from pet dogs. They found microplastic pollution in every sample." -Damian Carrington Environment editor, The Guardian 😅😅😅😢
Damn thats a good one had to restart the song i was laughing too much
For those that dont know, Jesse also has some really good songs that aren't folk. He played in a Grunge band that has a very similar vibe to Nirvana. Band is called Cosmic American
And he was in dead Indian and welles all great bands I really enjoy his solo stuff personally bit it's all good
Jesse doesn't seem to age. If anything, he looks younger now than he did seven years ago.
That's a good tip. Just found Cosmic American. Anyone know what, if anything, I can get on vinyl? Really, any incarnation of Jesse Welles. I love everything he does.
Thanks.🙂
I'm REALLY glad he started making folk songs rather than hitting the kurt cobain method, i genuinely mean that. Love this dude.
Bro is blessed with lyrical talent and cursed with clarity
Very well put
The truth walks with a limp, while the lies fly by on the side of a blimp .... Just brilliant man.
Sums up the entire jewish activity on this planet...
"It'll grow on you."
Hits so hard.
As someone who grew up 1 mile away from a DuPont plant I love you
My Grandaddy worked at Dupont over 35 years. Retired and died of Alzheimers' disease shortly after. None of that was covered on his insurance plan. He made dacron for good ole Dupont. Rest in peace Grandy. Thanks for always taking me fishing and being there for me others weren't. 🙏
Please keep putting the full lyrics in description!! Thank you 🙂
turn on the subtitles bro.
Was about to write the same thing!

Dudes such an artist, he’s even in Drop D for Duplicitous DuPont. Jesse Welles, the 21st Century American Conscience. Keep that spiritual stream a flowin’, my dude. We all need it!
Feel a movement starting
Feel a movement starting
The American folk revival revived. Keep doing what you're doing so you can reach the folk that need to hear it. Much love from Scotland.
We all have C8 in our blood due to Dupont.
Thanks Dupont!
But does your food stick?
AKA a byproduct of making teflon
You must be in the valley?
This is corporate America. Government keeps feeding the American Oligarchs.
Been like this since 12000 years (Göbekli Tepe)
This a world wide issue.
The USA ain’t special.
The only company that can get this song unstuck from my mind is Dupont.
one of the greatest songwriters i've seen
That's not saying much.

Voice of a generation. Thank you for your beautiful music and incredible message.
The truth walks with a limp, while the lies fly by on the side of a blimp. Genius lyrics thank you for recording and sharing this song
Mississippi John Hurt heard that one from a cloud he's resting on and whistled for Doc Watson to "check this young man pickin' Doc, he's sure walked that lonesome valley before.." Amazing stuff my friend, simply awestruck at your songwriting panache.
Your music is so good that I always drop what I'm doing/watching to watch when I get a notification.
Seriously
Me three ✨
Eh. They are getting a little more boring with every song. Plus his other band he sang, and he didn't sound like that. So which voice is his real voice? Maybe it's a cheap bob Dylan exytry0
Call 'em out brother!
Protest Songs for change!!!
Makes the world better!!!
protest songs don't change anything. They sound good and they feel good to listen to but your delusional if you think this has any substantial effect on the world beyond simply being good art.
"Men go crazy in congregations, they only get better one by one." ~Gordon Sumner
Thanks Jesse you are the voice of the reasonable of our generation.
You got a gift, man! Thanks for sharing it with us
Witness!!!! There it is… Greatness
Not living in America I had to search for the back story of Dupont. Now I know, but I guess thats the whole point of the song, to protest and educate. Once again, its a great song. Love his voice and the clever lyrics.
Reminds me of the 80s in Nashville at the Bluebird Cafe listening the greatest legendary songwriters of all time. I could watch and listen to this young man forever. TRUE talent . A rarity today. ❤
What a talented songwriter. Keep it coming, Jesse.
Another amazing song. I find myself listening to your songs like I would turn on such amazing musicians like Neil Young, Kurt Cobain, or Gram Parsons.
You could literally be the best American folk musician of our time. Keep it bro, take this vibe seriously. We love it.
Genius Jesse - From Vancouver, Canada
eaugh that one chord before the chorus is so disturbing and viceral I love it. keep up using creative harmony
Once again another breathtaking example of your spectacular songwriting. I love this music
I wish all of your songs were available to purchase! I hate streaming when I really love an artist. You’re quickly becoming one of my favorite folk punk musicians man, I hope you keep releasing new stuff
I'm gonna listen to Jesse's music while camping this summer. Perfect vibe.
Makes we wonder just how many lives have been directly impacted by that glorious corporate idol Dupont.....great tune pal!!! Intrisically perfect. Thanks , ron
Maybe now you’ll know!
Great work Jesse.
I really like your writing, man.
It’s pretty cool to see these songs knowing they are just the beginning… 30 years from now you’ll be part of the “I remember the first time I…..” amazing songwriting and sound. Keep ‘em coming 😎
My grandpa worked at dupont years back, he loved this. My favourite one yet- please get it on Spotify! Much love
I'm incredibly honored to have the chance to see and listen to your music on youtube before you grow to be in insanely huge star.
DuPont de Nemours, Inc., commonly shortened to DuPont, is an American multinational chemical company first formed in 1802 by French-American chemist and industrialist Éleuthère Irénée du Pont de Nemours. The company played a major role in the development of Delaware and first arose as a major supplier of gunpowder.
Living in Wapwallopen, PA. Home of one of the original black powder facilities of the 1800's. Set in a deep gorge with it's own railroad down to the Susquehanna River. Powder used in mining. Several explosions over the years it operated.
Not gonna lie, I'm a little jealous, Jesse. Give 'em hell, brother! ❤
This man is spitting incredible songs
You're the best Jesse. You sing truth.

1st time that Ive ever subscribed for anything. Thanks for sharing your awesome songwriting!!
Another brilliant track. Thank you young man. Please don't ever stop writing man.
Thank you for including the lyrics in the description.
You 🪨🎸♥️🇨🇦
WOW, a song ybout dupont, you really are amazing in the themes you pick. What a great dicovery you were!
If Dupont was a person they would be called psychopathic. But because they are a corporation they are called profitable. And are fined instead of exiled from society. Dope song.
whatever it is, you've got it. solid guitarwork.
I can't wait to purchase your album, Jessie.
I'm thoroughly enjoying your songwriting and the tone of each song. I'm subscribed and notified everytime you post, so keep up the good work.
"Yer life's always for sale and the price ain't all that high"

The world needs to hear more of this music.
Glad I found your first video when I did, now I have found your band and it’s great!
Did you pick up the CD / t-shirt bundle?
Not sure if it's because of my comment but thank you so much for putting the lyrics in the description, I really appreciate it :]
I'm getting closer to catching these as they're posted, lol.
Thought provoking as always, keep up the great work!
Not the drop D song about DuPont I expected, but the one I needed
Another one! Let’s go thanks man. I like how he looks away each time, almost like he can’t believe the reality he sings about is real. ❤
You are the Dillon of this generation, your songs are always very thought provoking
That chorus fingerstyle part HITS
A breath of fresh folky air.. and that guitar tone 🤌
Former resident of Rayon City here! Drove by the giant DuPont water tower everyday 😮
Love all ya music!! you are so gifted!!! I just think you may need to give ya lawn a bit of a mow, it looks like a forest!!!
This song really resonates with the microplastics and forever chemicals suffused throughout my body
bro, enough material for an album!!!!!
Ab fab! Love how the words stick to your cranium and won't rinse away.
Another great song!! Thanks Jesse.

As long the cooked food doesn't stick to the pan! What we were all screaming for to be cured.
Your lyrics are like a breath of fresh air in a world that seems so mixed up and confused keep them coming mate you'll crack the big time it's thier if you want it .
This one's my favorite. Grew up in the area the Dupont family lived. They founded 2 huge medical companies (Dupont, Nemours) because their children were so deformed from inbreeding
Yesyes nomnomnom more American Society commentary
I'd love to see your take on David McBride's situation
I was just informed that microplastics are stored in the balls
Awesome Jesse, im a big fan ....Keep on keeping on Brother
Amazing!
This one goes out to all the homies that unknowingly used way too much scotchgard.
Dang man.. I am a song writer.. life long.. always trying to find a way to say these kind of truths without sounding preachy..
Failed mostly.. but now I feel like Marvin Berry.
“You know that new sound you been looking for???? Well listen to this!!”
‘New Sound’ Lol.. (just like the old times when song writers were braver and self aware but not self conscious.
DuPont and the cancer machine are just a match made in, whatever this place is I guess.
Another amazing song. I kept writing, and rewriting, a fun message here to say how blown away I am. I just am, trying to keep it plainly perfect.
