- Downstream from deceit
Downwind from lies
Yer life’s always for sale
And the price ain’t all that high
Dupont
The duplicit, dirty dog
Dupont
Your “forever chemical” friend
Dupont
It’ll grow on you
All good things ‘a gotta come to an end
It’s a classic tale
It’s a common theme
The American Nightmare’s
Still a dream
Even if only technically.
I’d love to wake up,
If I could only sleep
Dupont
Where you know it’s clean
Dupont
They can’t hear you scream
Dupont
‘Long as the check get’s sent
Dupont
‘Long as the food don’t stick
Dupont
PFOS, C-8, and chemical sludge
Money’s hard to move, it’ll hardly budge.
And the truth walks with a limp.
While the lies fly by on the side of a blimp.
Dupont
Send out all your checks
You can’t take back birth defects
Dupont
All of your songs make me wish they lasted as long as the microplastics in my blood
Individuals have been sued for less
Corporations just get away with it
@@clintgable6123well that tends to happen in a corporate plutocracy.
I hope "microplastics in my blood" is the name of his next song
💯😂Funny you should say that mate; check out this extract from a news article that came out in my country literally in the last hour...
"Microplastics have been found in human testicles, with researchers saying the discovery might be linked to declining sperm counts in men.
The scientists tested 23 human testes, as well as 47 testes from pet dogs. They found microplastic pollution in every sample." -Damian Carrington Environment editor, The Guardian 😅😅😅😢
Damn thats a good one had to restart the song i was laughing too much
Bro is blessed with lyrical talent and cursed with clarity
Very well put
Facts!
Oh boy, can I relate to that!
Fun fact: The DuPont family is one of the 13 Illuminati bloodlines according to Christian author Fritz Speingmeier.
He published "Bloodlines of the Illuminati" in 1995 as a pdf. file. It's now in paperback at around 700 pages and $50. A must have for conspiracy book owners.
For those that dont know, Jesse also has some really good songs that aren't folk. He played in a Grunge band that has a very similar vibe to Nirvana. Band is called Cosmic American
And he was in dead Indian and welles all great bands I really enjoy his solo stuff personally bit it's all good
Jesse doesn't seem to age. If anything, he looks younger now than he did seven years ago.
That's a good tip. Just found Cosmic American. Anyone know what, if anything, I can get on vinyl? Really, any incarnation of Jesse Welles. I love everything he does.
Thanks.🙂
I'm REALLY glad he started making folk songs rather than hitting the kurt cobain method, i genuinely mean that. Love this dude.
The truth walks with a limp, while the lies fly by on the side of a blimp .... Just brilliant man.
Sums up the entire jewish activity on this planet...
best line I’ve heard in awhile, superb
"It'll grow on you."
Hits so hard.
As someone whose parent was killed by purposeful negligence on DuPonts part, all to save a few bucks....this whole song hits hard.
As someone who grew up 1 mile away from a DuPont plant I love you
Please keep putting the full lyrics in description!! Thank you 🙂
turn on the subtitles bro.
Was about to write the same thing!

Dudes such an artist, he’s even in Drop D for Duplicitous DuPont. Jesse Welles, the 21st Century American Conscience. Keep that spiritual stream a flowin’, my dude. We all need it!

Can anyone figure out chords?
The American folk revival revived. Keep doing what you're doing so you can reach the folk that need to hear it. Much love from Scotland.

That's not saying much.

All out of rainbows and unicorn farts over here.
My Grandaddy worked at Dupont over 35 years. Retired and died of Alzheimers' disease shortly after. None of that was covered on his insurance plan. He made dacron for good ole Dupont. Rest in peace Grandy. Thanks for always taking me fishing and being there for me others weren't. 🙏
If we dont use the 2nd amendment for what it was for soon, us and every one of our descendants will be nothing but human cattle.
Voice of a generation. Thank you for your beautiful music and incredible message.
Voice for all generations
We all have C8 in our blood due to Dupont.
Thanks Dupont!
But does your food stick?
AKA a byproduct of making teflon
You must be in the valley?
It's everywhere on Earth and will outlive our sun. There is no known way to clean it up.
Call 'em out brother!
Protest Songs for change!!!
Makes the world better!!!
protest songs don't change anything. They sound good and they feel good to listen to but your delusional if you think this has any substantial effect on the world beyond simply being good art.

The truth walks with a limp, while the lies fly by on the side of a blimp. Genius lyrics thank you for recording and sharing this song
Your music is so good that I always drop what I'm doing/watching to watch when I get a notification.
Seriously
Me three ✨
Eh. They are getting a little more boring with every song. Plus his other band he sang, and he didn't sound like that. So which voice is his real voice? Maybe it's a cheap bob Dylan exytry0
@@SoulCavern I see now, you just want him to turn into a music factory, churning out constant music regardless of quality. And what’s wrong with changing voices? In your other comments, you also speak of his band. Why does that interest you so much?
Same here!
The only company that can get this song unstuck from my mind is Dupont.
Mississippi John Hurt heard that one from a cloud he's resting on and whistled for Doc Watson to "check this young man pickin' Doc, he's sure walked that lonesome valley before.." Amazing stuff my friend, simply awestruck at your songwriting panache.
Reminds me of the 80s in Nashville at the Bluebird Cafe listening the greatest legendary songwriters of all time. I could watch and listen to this young man forever. TRUE talent . A rarity today. ❤
You got a gift, man! Thanks for sharing it with us
Witness!!!! There it is… Greatness
You could literally be the best American folk musician of our time. Keep it bro, take this vibe seriously. We love it.
Thanks Jesse you are the voice of the reasonable of our generation.
What a talented songwriter. Keep it coming, Jesse.
Another amazing song. I find myself listening to your songs like I would turn on such amazing musicians like Neil Young, Kurt Cobain, or Gram Parsons.
I'm incredibly honored to have the chance to see and listen to your music on youtube before you grow to be in insanely huge star.
My grandpa worked at dupont years back, he loved this. My favourite one yet- please get it on Spotify! Much love
Once again another breathtaking example of your spectacular songwriting. I love this music
this guy is a PR nightmare. keep up the good work :)
eaugh that one chord before the chorus is so disturbing and viceral I love it. keep up using creative harmony
If Dupont was a person they would be called psychopathic. But because they are a corporation they are called profitable. And are fined instead of exiled from society. Dope song.
Genius Jesse - From Vancouver, Canada
It’s pretty cool to see these songs knowing they are just the beginning… 30 years from now you’ll be part of the “I remember the first time I…..” amazing songwriting and sound. Keep ‘em coming 😎
I'm gonna listen to Jesse's music while camping this summer. Perfect vibe.
Makes we wonder just how many lives have been directly impacted by that glorious corporate idol Dupont.....great tune pal!!! Intrisically perfect. Thanks , ron
This.
Thank you my friend - i was hoping story tellers would come back.
More please.
Outstanding!
Thank you for including the lyrics in the description.

I knew a DuPont heiress, her name was Felicity DuPont, she was so horrified by being a DuPont, she moved to the small Northern California hippie town, Cloverdale, 3 miles south of the Mendocino County Line. She bought a bunch of land and had a huge commune called Rainbow Ranch. That was 1976-1983.
Notice how building her own commune helped to soothe those worries? Obscene amounts of money have a funny way of dulling horror in that way. If she were truly horrified, she'd might have used her leverage to promote reform.
I'm reminded of Jamie Johnson (heir to Johnson & Johnson); about 20 years back, the young man goes to film school and decides to make a documentary pointing out the ways in which his money is an unfair entitlement. As he goes, he starts to notice cracks in the family morality. Haven't heard much from him since. Guess he got over it.
You're the best Jesse. You sing truth.
Not gonna lie, I'm a little jealous, Jesse. Give 'em hell, brother! ❤
This man is spitting incredible songs
WOW, a song ybout dupont, you really are amazing in the themes you pick. What a great dicovery you were!

Im glad this man lives in the cut cuz he gonna piss all the global powers off lmao
you are incredibly talented Jesse, thanks for all of your music!
DuPont de Nemours, Inc., commonly shortened to DuPont, is an American multinational chemical company first formed in 1802 by French-American chemist and industrialist Éleuthère Irénée du Pont de Nemours. The company played a major role in the development of Delaware and first arose as a major supplier of gunpowder.
Living in Wapwallopen, PA. Home of one of the original black powder facilities of the 1800's. Set in a deep gorge with it's own railroad down to the Susquehanna River. Powder used in mining. Several explosions over the years it operated.
Another one! Let’s go thanks man. I like how he looks away each time, almost like he can’t believe the reality he sings about is real. ❤
Guitar playing in these recent few songs has been quite nice
I like this one the best,I think it was the overwhelming honesty...I appreciate your skills, mister
I grew up down stream from dupont, never trusted the water or the ground to be clean.
1st time that Ive ever subscribed for anything. Thanks for sharing your awesome songwriting!!

Another great song!! Thanks Jesse.
This song is going to be STUCK in my head all day...
"I'd love to wake up, if I could only sleep"
absolutely chilling
Hey bro huge fan and I love this one in particular. My father was put to work spraying Agent Orange for the NZ Governnent in the 80s without PPE, and now we both have genetic mutations and neurological shit that all the doctors keep calling "software problems, not hardware problems" (they have a new phraseology for hysteria). Dupont bought Dow. I'm so bad i can't walk these days (same age as you). Most of the folks who grew up by the plant Dow had here fell to cancer. Govt denies the link, the lies fly by on the side of a blimp. Your song is giving me a focal point for my anger right now, cheers
Love all ya music!! you are so gifted!!! I just think you may need to give ya lawn a bit of a mow, it looks like a forest!!!
