In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.
Comedians that have risked life, limb, and dignity in the hope of making the Taskmaster proud so far include: Frank Skinner (The Frank Skinner Show), Mel Giedroyc (The Great British Bake Off), Romesh Ranganathan (Asian Provocateur), Hugh Dennis (Outnumbered), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones’ Diary), Rose Matafeo (Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner 2018), and Russell Howard (The Russell Howard Hour). They really should've had the noises be judged first and then seen how they were made. I would've loved for the sound of dog shit hitting a cardboard cutout do well only to be ripped away after seeing how the noise was made.
That would've been way funnier.

On the other hand, the best part of Acaster's task was the disappointment after such long elaborate build-up.
I disagree, it's way funnier seeing Jess on her bike with her hat like a madwoman instead of just her shouting and James' big setup for disaster.

What about this task just broke them. Sometime this show breaks a couple of them but this one was across the board.

Same idea as the fart noise I suppose. Simple but effective!
Phil and Kerry were astounding noisemakers. Acaster seems to be unique among Taskmaster contestants, as he is someone who can only ace a task out of the park or crash to the ground burning. This of course is one of his failures.
Mawaan "helium egg" Rizwan was similar: either awesome or completely useless. I love him.
And Rhod who spent the show antagonizing the Taskmaster
Jessica doing her airhorn noise is one of the funniest things I've ever seen on a tv show, only to be immediately followed by the new funniest thing I've ever seen on a tv show, Phil Wang's noise.

James Acaster had it all set up for the most epic of noises. Oh how flat it fell. XD
I do not know why he did not rehearse it, they were not racing. But then that is the endearing way he played the game, like an overeager kid. Loved it. But as a musician that must have really annoyed him to not make an interesting sound.

For some reason Kerry's reaction to the bird noise at 6:20 still cracks me up, every time. These are all crazy people. This is the perfect cast. Love all the series but this is the gold standard.

james' noise had the most impressive buildup and the most alarming come-down.

Pouring a sparkling drink over ice so cold it crackles a little. Like the commercials at the movies
What, compared to a huge fart or a dolphin stranded in a boat? Make an effort, mate. YOurs sounds like the commercials cos that's where you got it.
Jessica's noise absolutely kills me 😂 The hat and bike just make it so much better.
Best noise: A beer or soda can opening.. taking huge gulps, sitting down on sofa, legs up on sofa table and sighing loudly.

There are very few shows that consistently make me laugh until my stomach hurts
All of the shows that make my tummy hurt from laughter are British. There is just something about British comedy that gets me!
this was too damn good. Discovered this show while i was surfing through james acaster's stuff and i absolutely love it
The sound of whipping around a plastic clothes hanger is quite nice. Similar to bats flying past you swiftly whilst screeching.
I would have fried something in a pan. The sizzling is a great noise, when you come home and know, that dinner will be ready soon.

many difficult to process things about this anti-asmr task but the one that keeps getting me is why jessica somehow didnt think to screech and strum at the same time
Well, multitasking can be hard. But a ukulele gives much better sound if you hold and strum it properly. At least it sounds more...
I think this was the only time Rhod worried that he may actually have damaged his friendship with Greg.

I think this is my favorite task in the entire show. It's like 5 complete breakdowns, with Jess and Phil seriously creating noises that pop into my head randomly and make me lose it with laughter no matter where I am.

I've been trying to think what I would have done, and seeing that bike made me think of putting a playing/trading card between the spokes to replicate a revving engine...is that a thing in England? Almost every kid in NA who's ever owned a bike has done this.
Never did the card in the spokes. But I would always run over an old pop can and it would sound like a dirt bike.
I am glad he gave a separate ranking to each of them. Sometimes I feel like he gives out too many tie scores. Being the Taskmaster is about making the hard choices!
I would have lit a fire in the fireplace and start pouring a cold beverage into a glass

I love that Rhod's whole point on the show is to just give Greg as big of a headache as possible.
Rhod was my favorite character of any season for exactly this reason
Greg shouting in Alex’s ear will never not make me laugh.
This being a British show I'm surprised that none of them just took an old tea kettle that makes noise when water boils in it.
I mean, they asked for the best noise, not the most annoying or disturbing one 😂
Would have worked even better if they did it without a kettle.

I'm glad Alex finally worked up the courage to confront James about never saying hi back at the beginning of challenges. I know that was difficult for him.

I would win this challenge. I would do so good that there would not be much to say about it other than "i could listen to this all day to be honest".
