Driving The Welland Canal Parkway 2024

- Welcome everyone.
Today we are taking an early evening drive along the Welland Canal Parkway. The parkway stretches from St.Catharines to PortColborne. Today we drive from Lock 7 in Thorold to Lock 1 in St. Catharines.
While driving along the canal taking in the nice views of the canal. Then we drive over the bridge at lock 2 into Niagara on the Lake to take in the many vineyards and orchards and see the beautiful blossoming fruit trees along Stewart Rd. We also drive by a very well known ice cream 🍦shop called Avondale Dairy Bar. It’s a must stop if your traveling thru the Niagara area.
We continue down Stewart Rd and go back into St. Catharines on Lakeshore Rd.
We end the drive in the small park at lock 1. This is where there is also a bike / walking path that follow the canal route.

I'm not used to roads not having many cars on them and not being full of pot holes. They look a pleasure to drive along with the views they also offer. Some cool looking bridges 👍

MJ's Own Munchies on Lakeshore looks like they have really good food and the little buliding looks like a neat place. Have you ever eaten there?
@ThomasC-Crazy4NiagaraFalls Hi Tom. Yes I have eaten at MJ’s they make good burgers, that’s what I had when I went and I think the burgers are homemade from what I remember. It’s been a awhile since I have been but it is a nice road side stop and they have lots of picnic tables outside to dine at. It’s always busy when I drive by on Saturdays. Let me know what you think of it if you go. 😊
