Aside from Marilyn Monroe, Ronnie tried organising one last hit before he died. The 1994 Quad studio shooting of Tupac Shakur. Ronnie Kray phoned Haitan Jack from Broadmoor and gave him the green light. Apparently Ronnie was more of a Biggie Smalls fan. Reggie was distraught after hearing this, because he was a huge Tupac fan.

Great podcast as usual Terry, if I'm honest though, the Marilyn part doesn't add up for me, for one she died in 62 and and James says "Ronnie went back to America" but I thought he didn't go to America the first time until much later. Also Marilyn had somebody staying with her the entire evening so if a maintenance man turned up that would have been noticed and finally she locked herself in her room and they had to break a window to get to her.
Hi David thanks for the feedback. I wasn't there but this is what Ronnie told him. Ronnie was mad so he could of been having an episode but all the other mob stuff that he told him was verifiable so why would he make this up?

Terry … I dunno what to say here … he’s a lot different to 20 / 30 years ago, he had a really quite prominent lisp, and was a lot louder … I think it was Jimmy Lambrianou you interviewed a while back wasn’t it? I think I’d want to hear his reaction to this, but the biggest thing I can’t quite wrap my head around … well actually there’s a few … I’m actually down in Cornwall, watching you with my Sister & my Mum, and Mum is the one out of the three of us that are left who knew this man / drunk bully … he wasn’t a nice man, but would manipulate others to do his dirty work. Pretty much all he said was dead true stories, but some of them are other peoples stories that he’s taken on as his after the real guys passed away. My own curiosity … is he ok? He honestly ain’t who I remember from the very few occasions I saw him … he was … I don’t know how to say this without it seeming like I’m having a go … but he was much louder, acting a heck of a lot tougher than he’s acting now, he was never this soft talking, gentle quiet man … his mind was also LAZER SHARP … in capitals ‘coz he would remember EVERYTHING, but now is almost like he’s had a stroke … no offence was meant there, you know me Sir Terry, I would be mortified if I said something to upset ya! Speak to Jimmy again buddy, or a better one if you get in quick is Brown Bread Fread, or even his son Jamie, ‘coz I’m certain Jamie will remember more than I can, we moved away back in ‘77 when I was six.

I think he may be confused with Ronnie forcing Frances to take pills which resulted in her death, albeit concluded as a suicide. There was a theory that it was Ronnie who forced her to do this as he hated her so much as she had become a wedge between Ronnie and Reggie.
